Beach Bird ~ CTD248, Fusion13, FM116

I have to tell you that I am absolutely in love with this card!  I'm jus so pleased with the way it turned out!!!!  I combined a few different challenges here:  Color Throwdown 248 using Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Cool Carribean, and Pretty in Pink; Fusion Challenge 13 which incorporates the bird and the sketch; and The Friday Mashup which calls for a beach scene and masking.  It was so much fun to create!

I started by cutting a 3 1/8" vanilla circle and and 3 3/8" Crumb Cake circle.  I masked the top of the vanilla circle and sponged on some Cool Carribean ink.  Next, I punched a 3/4" circle and placed it in the "sky".  I masked off the water and sponged Pretty in Pink on the sky.  I pulled of the masked circle and there was the sun! Next, I stamped on some beach foliage and sentiment from Too Kind in Crumb Cake ink.  The foliage stamp is one I purchased from Hobby Lobby.  I adhered the beach scene circle to the Crumb Cake circle and moved onto the bird.  I punched a Very Vanilla bird and a wing with my bird builder punch, trimmed down the belly (because seagulls are a little trimmer than the fat little bird builder), and sponged on some Crumb Cake ink.  I added a pearl for the eye and cut a couple thin strips of Crumb Cake for it's legs.  Next, I made the wood pillars using some Woodland Walk DSP (retired). I cut 1" strips, one a tad shorter than the other, and used a corner rounder punch at the top of each.  After I rounded the corners, I trimmed off the top to make them flat, then I wrapped them with twine.
The last step was to make the background.  I stamped a peice of Very Vanilla with the Cheesecloth background stamp in Pretty in Pink ink.  I ran it through my Big Shot with a grass-looking embossing folder.  It is from Cuttlebug and has no name.  It's a little hard to see in the photo, but it adds just a little extra textured detail.  A little strip of frayed Natural Trim and my card was complete!

Lana's BIG Birthday! NAC52 & PPA161

My sister-in-law turns 50 in a couple days, so I made this card for her.  I just got a new box of goodies in the mail, including the Chalk Talk stamps and it couldn't have been more perfect.  Turning 50 IS a big day!  I used the sketch from Pals Paper Arts 161 (which I missed the cut-off for....oh well)  and the colors from Nacho Average Challenge 52.  It's been a while since I've got to play there, so I'm happy!

I added in a little drink from Happy Hour, along with the strawberry and umbrella to accomodate the color combo.  This ties in nicely with the theme of my SIL's birthday.  I'm possitive there will be some drinks like this served.  I added Crystal Effects to the glass.  My Crystal Effects must be getting old, because it looks a little cloudy.  I'm not real happy about that.....
I also added some glitter glue to the umbrella and strawberry.

Here's a list of the supplies....
Stamps: Chalk Talk, Positively Chevron, Happy Hour
Paper: Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, Sent With Love DSP
Ink: White Craft, Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, Pool Party
Accessories: White EP, Big Dot EF, 1 3/8" circle punch, Circle #2 die, Crystal Effects, Glitter glue

Morgan's Perfect Day ~ PP151 & CCMC258

Tonight we are gathering with friends and family to celebrate my neices birthday.  Morgan turns 13 today.  She was a millenium baby.  I made this card just for her!  I used the sketch from The Paper Players 151 and the colors from Create with Connie and Mary 258.

CCMC258
The colors were fun and bright, so I went with a merry mix of patterns....polka dots, stripes and honeycom .  The last thing I did was hang a little flowered tag off of the ribbon for added whimsey.

A Flower for the Mr. & Mrs.

Hello friends!  I've finally gotten another opportunity to stamp and low and behold it was for another wedding!  I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches #90 and the color combo from Colour Q Challenge #193.

The colors are kind of unconventional for a wedding card, but I thought they were fun and playful.
I finally got my hands on a real, tangible, new catalog and I drew some inspiration from there.  I stamped right onto the patterened paper, which I had seen on a card towards the end of the catalog, and I tried the scrunched doily, which was a little photo tutorial within the catalog.

Here's a list of supplies I used....
Stamps: Tiny Tags, Everything Eleanore
Paper: White, Bermuda Bay, Island Indigo, Pear Pizzaz, Red Glimmer, In Color DP
Ink: Pear Pizzaz, Island Indigo
Accessories: Blossom Party die, Labels die, Paper Doily, Everyday Enchantment brad, Bird Builder punch

I'm Here!

Well, hello blogland!  I've been MIA for a short period of time.  Since my kids got out of school we hit the ground running.  Eight year old in baseball, 15 year old in drivers training, and my almost 17 year old is in the workforce.  To top that off, my church (which has a small congregation because I live in a small community) has been remodeling and carpeting our entire building.  We have tried to do most of the work ourselves to save on costs.  We are under a time crunch because there will be a wedding there this weekend!  Busy, but so worth it!  The result will be a beautiful church for a beautiful wedding!  Needless to say, I need a card for that wedding, so I chose the colors from Dynamic Duos 55 to do the job.  I'm not a huge fan of this combo, but I thought it'd be pretty for a wedding card.  I also used the sketch from Fab Friday 19.

I'm not going to spend much time explaining my card, because frankly I just don'e have it!  I'm off and running again today!  So here's a couple more looks at it.
