Birthday Deer Mount ~ SSSC191

This card is for Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 191.  It also works for Seize the Birthday.
The moment I saw this deer image in the Holiday Catalog I knew it was one I had to have.  It's perfect for making masculine cards.  Plus it's a switch from your regular holiday images.  I think you could be pretty creative with this!  I paired the deer image with the wood image from Truly Grateful, also out of the Holiday Catalog.  It reminds me of some wood paneling we had in a house when I was growing up.  My dad and other family members were all hunters
and there was always a deer head mount hanging on the wall.  It definitely makes the perfect card for any male members of my family!

Merry Sparkle Snowflake ~ MM71

Today's card is for Merry Monday 71.
I've been wanting to play along with Merry Monday for quite some time now.  As I said in the past few weeks, the kids are now back in school, so I have a bit more time to stamp.
I'm loving the new Thinlits Expressions dies....they are so fun!  And, I was over the moon when I saw the burlap trim that SU came out with!  I love the look of it!
I had already had the "merry" cut out and laying on my desk...a reject from a previous project.  I decided that's where my starting point would be.  I browsed through my DSP's and found the espresso from last year's Christmas print pack called Festival of Prints and the
Pool Party from this year's Winter Frost pack.

I also knew I wanted to have some sort of stamped pattern on my main focal circles, so I stamped the big chevron oval from Oh Hello in Early Espresso in and punched out a few circles.  Next I used one of the hexagons from Six Sided Sampler, stamped it with Pool Party ink and punch out with a smaller circle punch.  I adhered them to the burlap with large glue dots. Regular snail adhesive will not stick very well.
The snowflake is from my Northern Frost decorative strip die.  It's long retired, but I LOVE all the different snowflakes it offers.  I popped the snowflake up on a dimensional.

Here's a complete list of supplies...

Black & Pool Just For You ~ PPA168 & DD66

This card is for Dynamic Duos 66 and I also incorporated the sketch from Pals Paper Arts 168 loosely.
PPA168
I used my Gifts of Kindness set for the first time.  What a cute flower to use....the possibilities are endless.  I went for a fast and simple card this time, so there was no embellishing the flower.  I love that the image has a dot pattern on it and I mimicked that with the black polka dot DSP.

Here's a list of supplies...
Stamps: Gifts of Kindness, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Pool Party, Black, White, Sent With Love DSP, Day & Night DSP
Ink: Pool Party, Black
Accessories: Sycamore Street button, black bakers twine, Pool Party ruffled ribbon, Framelits Oval dies, Top Note die

Bright and Bold and Fun! ~ PPA168 & CTD255

I've always loved and wanted to make a card with the main colors being Pacific Point and Melon Mambo...Color Throwdown provided that chance....only they had to throw a curveball and add Tangerine Tango. :(  I struggled to get it added in there, but I suppose it works.  Also, I didn't have Pixie Pink, so I subbed in Pretty in Pink.
I love the flowers in the Too Kind set.  They are so easy to use and really make a bold statement!  It's a real fun flower set.

Pals came up with a great sketch this week....it's so very versatile!  There are many great example in the gallery with tons of inspiration!
I kind of took on a polka dot theme with this card.  Big polka dots embossed on the blue base, ribbon and DSP and of course the little polka dot embossed butterfly.

Stamps: Too Kind, Chalk Talk
Paper: Tempting Turquoise DSP (Pawsatively Prints), Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango, Melon Mambo, White
Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point, Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink, Tangerine Tango, Pistachio Pudding
Accessories: Beautiful Wings embosslits, Melon Mambo polka dot ribbon, Big Dot EF, Circle punches, Circles Famelits, rhinestones, Scallop Border punch

Triple Six Sided Sampler ~ FMS99, FM123, & CCMC264

This card encompasses three challenges: Freshly Made Sketches 99The Friday Mashup 123, and Create with Connie and Mary 264.

CCMC264

For the Friday Mashup we are supposed to create a project using clear block stamping.  I inked up my block with a marker, spritzed it with some water and then stamped it directly on the white cardstock.  The paper ends up a little damp so I dried it with my heat gun.  Create with Connie and Mary called for Smokey Slate, which I don't have yet, so I subbed in Basic Gray (stamped off once to make it look a little lighter).
This was such a fun card to make, plus I got a chance to use my Six Sided Sampler.  It's the first time it's seen ink.  I alternated the colors and added three different kinds of buttons for embellishment.  I like the way this turned out.  A little border of the ruffled ribbon really makes this girly!  I thought about turning it into a baby girl card, but I need a birthday card for my friend.

Here's a list of supplies....
Stamps: Six Sided Sampler
Paper: Pistachio Pudding, White
Ink: Blushing Bride, Pistachio Pudding, Basic Gray
Accessories: Honeycomb EF, Pistachio Stretch Ruffled Trim, Neutrals button, Twitterpated button, InColor boutique details

Stippled Lace ~ CCMC263 & PP158

Ahhhh, it feels so good to stamp for challenges again!  I finally gained a little time to do so and with school starting up again soon, I'll have even more time!  Yay!  I also got a new camera, so these are experimental pictures.
I stamped this card for Create with Connie and Mary Challenge 263, which is a sketch challenge.  For the color part, I used The Paper Players 158.
CCMC263

I started by rolling out my Travel Journal and Viola's Lace wheels in Pear Pizzaz ink on Vanilla cardstock.  I trimmed out the lacey side of the strip.  Next, I stamped the flowers from Stippled Blossoms in Crisp Cantaloupe and Strawberry Slush and cut them out.  I stamped a few leaves in Pear Pizzaz and cut them out also. Everything was layered onto a Crumb Cake base that I had dry embossed with the Honeycomb EF.

I played with the arrangement of the flowers a bit and finally settled on this.  I couple of them are popped up on dimensionals.  A few pearls in the center and a flag sentiment and it's done!
