XOXO ~ CTD277, SSC68, CMCC5, Card Concept2

I used the color combo from Color Throwdown but it also fits into Color Me which asks to use any five colors...mine are Baked Brown Sugar, Blushing Bride, White, Soft Sky, Gold, and Champagne Glimmer.  The card concept calls for texture on your card and mine was added in the form of the embossed Hardwood and dry embossed banner (which I rubbed with gold ink to make the texture stand out even more).  I guess my card would be classified as Clean and Layered....even though it has some sponging.  I don't think it fits under the heading of Shabby Chic.....hmmm.

Can we talk about the Hardwood stamp for a second????  This is such an amazing image!  I have not seen one project made with it that I don't like.  It's so versatile!  It can go girly, like this card, or obviously masculine.  I adore!!!!

Paper Crafters Sampler ~ January

Time to release the 5th year of the Paper Crafters Sampler.  Once again we start the first issue by preparing for upcoming Valentine's Day.  We've made a few changes this time around by avoiding the most common color associated with Valentine's Day, red.
Inside the January issue, Venetian Valentine, you'll find soft and subdued colors, fancy flourishes, embossed surfaces and splashes of gold.  Tres le femme! The template of the month is the Fliptop Heart Trinket Box.
Here's a sneak peek of my project!

Here's a look at the other designer's projects!  There's lots of talent here!

Another Great Year Chalkboard ~ CCMC284 & PP177

The chalkboard technique...I love it!  When I saw the color combo over at Create with Connie and Mary this week, I thought it would be great to showcase this technique.  Then The Paper Players came out with their weekly challenge and guess what?  It's the chalkboard technique!
CCMC284
The chalkboard technique is super simple and looks sooooo cool!  I think it offers a lot of bang for your buck, so to speak!
I started by pulling out some of my new supplies from Occasions Catalog.  This Another Great Year set has some great birthday images.  I also used Petite Petals, as well as the coordinating punch.  I stamped the flower three times in Strawberry Slush and twice in Bermuda Bay and punched them all out.  I cut the Bermuda Bay flowers apart and turned them into leaves.  Once I had the flowers arranged on the corner of my card, I tucked the leaves in under them.  I sort of bent the petals of the flowers up to give them more dimension.

Lastly, I tied some bakers twine from the Sweet Sorbet Accessory pack that will be available in the Sale-A-Bration catalog.
