Rustic Sympathy ~ Seize the Sketch 23 & CCMC308

Hello everyone!  Today's post combines Seize the Sketch Challenge 23 & Create With Connie and Mary 308.
CCMC308

I tweaked my colors somewhat and used Hello Honey instead of Crushed Curry.  I colored in the {Bloom With Hope} flower and leaves with the new Blendabilites markers.  I used the Cherry Cobbler set and Old Olive, as well as Daffodil Delight for the center of the flower.  I held the flower up to a piece of  Real Red cardstock and it goes perfectly!  My picture seems to be photographing on the pink side.  I assure you that the flower really is red!  I stamped and colored the flower twice and cut one a bit smaller than the other.  I rolled up the edges and layered them together.  I love the way this looks....so 3-D!
The markers are so easy to color with....they blend so smoothly and are effortless to use!  I have to be honest and say that I wasn't really interested in them when I first saw them, but figured I'd better try some out in case any of my customers inquired.  I wondered really how different could they be from the regular markers.  They are drastically different! Well, now I'm hooked!
Now lets talk about the {Bloom With Hope} set.  From the moment I saw it I knew it had to be mine.  What a great set with so many different kinds of beautiful flowers!  I love they way they look a little doodled.  The sympathy saying that goes along with it is wonderful and the font is gorgeous.  I know I'll be turning to this set time and time again!
Combining {Bloom with Hope} and {Hardwood} makes it look a little rustic.  I like that.

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: Bloom with Hope, Hardwood
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight & Old Olive Blendabilities markers, Soft Suede, Black Memento
Paper: Crumb Cake, Bermuda Bay, White
Accessories: Hello Honey ribbon, Corner Rounder punch, Paper Doily, gold brads, Oval die

Thanks for taking a peek!

  3. Ummmm...WOW! Very pretty! Love how you showcased the rose by using the woodgrain and the doily...almost like it is sitting in a window box or something of the sort. Love the way the doily is peeking out of the oval window. Thanks for playing the Create with Connie and Mary color challenge this week!
