Vintage Watermelon Pleasant Poppies ~ FM211

Hello stampers!  This is my last Friday as a guest designer at the Friday Mashup.  What a wonderful group to be a part of!  I am so privileged to have gotten the opportunity to play along with these ladies!  This weeks challenge calls for us to mashup watercoloring with this sketch....

There's soooooo much potential with this sketch!  Soooooo many directions you can go in!
My direction is vintage, which is one of my favorite styles.  I just love anything done with this {Postcard} stamp and am sorry to see it retire.  I've also been wanting to use my {Pleasant Poppies} again before they go out as well.

I watercolored the poppies with one of the new In Colors for 2015-17, Watermelon Wonder.  I added in some Cajun Craze and then some Early Espresso for the middle of the poppies.  I also watercolored the background with another new color, Tip Top Taupe.  The basecard is the taupe and the second layer is Watermelon Wonder.  They are very pretty together.

Check out the rest of the gals' work over at The Friday Mashup!

You Did It Grad! ~ CCMC357

Good Thursday Morning!  It's Create With Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge time!  This week we've got a neat sketch for you!
CCMC357

I needed yet another graduation card, so that's were I went with the sketch.  I made the main square a shaker and filled it with red glimmer paper confetti stars, clear seed beads and silver sequins.  The graduation cap is just a 1 1/4" square punch and punched hexagon.  The tassel is from the balloon framelits.....isn't it perfect?!?!  I also added a red glimmer paper banner cut from the balloon framelits as well.
The black striped paper is from the new Neutrals paper stack....it's got such wonderful patterns and neutral colors.....including gold and silver!

The sentiment is from {Bravo}.
The card also measures 5"x 5", so I made an envelope to go with it.  I love the coordinating envelope and they are so easy to make with the envelope punch board.  I also added a coordinating insert for the envelope that I cut with the envelope insert die.
Make sure you hop on over to Create With Connie and Mary and check out the other awesome designers!

A Little Birthday Cod! ~ CMCC73, PP246 & ATCAS64

Well, hellooooo!  It's time for another Colour Me challenge!  This week's challenge was just that for me....A CHALLENGE!  This was the second incarnation of my card.  I'm still not thrilled with it, but hey, you win some and you lose some.  That's the way the cookie crumbles!
Anyway, our color combo this week is Blackberry Bliss, Rich Razzleberry, Lost Lagoon, and Pumpkin Pie.  It was a tuff one for me because some of you may know that I don't really do purple very well....and we had TWO purples to play with....and orange....and blue.  Uff.
I also used the sketch from The Paper Players 246.
I'm also entering in Addicted to CAS: Animal.

I just purchased this old, old stamp set from 2005 called {Polar Pals} from a friend who was selling all her stuff.  I bought it because I really liked the little penguin....penguins are my favorite!
I also loved the sentiment "I thought I'd send you a little birthday cod!".  I got to thinking that maybe I could play around and make this set work with these colors.

I made the little ice berg the penguin is standing on into a shaker filled with iridescent glitter.  I like that part.

So, I can't wait to see what all you stampers come up with!!!!
As always, make sure you stop by and check out my fellow CM challenge designers!

Pomp and Circumstance for SSSC270

I'm stopping in for a quickie here....today I've got a very simple grad card to share.  I used the sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 270.

I needed a quick card for and figured this sketch would be perfect.  I used bits and scraps on this one too....love it when I can do that!

The only thing I don't like about it is the gold brad....darn if I couldn't find my silver ones!!!!  I know I had a whole container full of them but my eye couldn't spot them.  I bet if I went into my scrap space right now and looked I'd find them....isn't that usually the way it works? :)
Oh well.
I colored the grad cap with my blendabilites, even though they are no longer available.  I still like to use them when I can.

This is definitely not my favorite card, but it will do it's job!

New Floral Wings and Lace ~ FM210

Yay, It's Friday Mashup day!!!  This week the challenge is to use butterflies and lace.  My butterfly is from a spanking new hostess set from the 2015/16 catalog.  It's called {Floral Wings} and isn't it beautiful???  It definitely caught my eye right off the bat.  I wanted to combine it with some of the new In Colors (Delightful Dijon, Mint Macaroon, and Watermelon Wonder) because the In Color coordinating ribbon this year is pretty, pretty lace trim!  What a match made in heaven!!!!

This card also showcases some of the new neutrals designers series paper stack.  I just love the bold, black stripe.

Stacked Blended Bloom ~ CCMC356

Hello!  It's Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!  This week we have a neat color combo.....

While I think purple is a perfectly wonderful color, I always seem to have trouble crafting with it.  It's just not the first color I usually reach for.  That's why these challenges are good for me....they force me to step out of my comfort zone.

I stamped a couple {Blended Blooms} on Soft Sky card stock and cut them out....one full flower and then the more inner part of the other.  Then I stamped another Smokey Slate and cut out the center, then yet again I stamped another on Blackberry Bliss and punched out the very center.  I sprayed some Smooch Spritz onto a plastic lid, like a paint palette, and dipped my paint brush in it and painted some shimmer on the flower.

Also showcased on this card is the new Neutrals paper stack.  I really love the new patterns there are this year....lots of fun ones, like this script.
A little Smokey Slate ribbon and "enjoy" from the Treat Bag die set finish my card off.

Be sure to pop by the other gals' blogs....there's tons of great inspiration!

Hey!  It's Colour Me Wednesday!  This week we are using Bermuda Bay, So Saffron & Pear Pizzazz... have fun!

My card shows off a sneak peek hostess stamp set from the new catalog....{Sihlouettes & Script}.  It's got a nice variety of fun images.  I thought this one went nicely with the color combo!

Hey friends!  It's Thursday, so that means another Create With Connie and Mary challenge!  This week we have a great sketch for you.....this can totally go in soooooo many directions.

I needed to keep it fairly simple.  I'm also trying to use all the stamp sets that are retiring before they are gone!  I'm really gonna miss {Bloom With Hope}.  It has such an awesome variety of pretty colorable flowers.

I also used the sketch from CASEing the Catty #29.

Stained Glass Butterfly ~ FM208

Hey everyone, it's Friday!  This is my second week as a guest designer at The Friday Mashup for the month of May.  This week's challenge is to create a Mother's Day card and use recycled/upcycled items.  For mine I used a recycled mother-of-pearl button (which I thought was appropriate for Mother's Day!) and I also upcycled packaging tape to make the stained glass look on the butterfly cut-out.
I also used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches 185.

The stained glass technique is so cool and fun....and easy!  It produces some flashy results too! Here's a great video by LeeAnn Greff on how to do the Stained Glass Technique.

I just love all the sparkle this produces!!!!
Be sure to visit the Friday Mashup DT and leave them some blog love!

Southwestern Feathers ~ CCMC354

Happy Thursday everyone!  It's time for Create with Connie and Mary's Thursday Challenge.  This time we have a super cool color combo for you.  I went with very geometrical patterns, which normally isn't my thing.  I like it with the feathers though.  It gives it a little bit of a southwestern feel.

Make sure you check out the creations from the others on the design team!

Make sure you check out the amazing work for the others on the DT!

Here's a list of my supplies....

The Friday Mashup + Me! FM207

Happy Friday everyone!  I am delighted to announce that I've been chosen to be one of May's guest designers by some awesome ladies over at The Friday Mashup!  I'm elated to get to work along side this wonderfully talented group.
Our challenge this week calls for you to use the sketch or use a retiring/retired/forgotten set....or do the mashup and combine both!

I used my {Flamingo Lingo} which I've loved since the first day I laid eyes on it way back last year!  This fun set just begs to be colored up in brights.  I also used a retired punch, Build a Blossom, to make the leaves on the palm tree.  I cut little notches out of each leaf to form the palms.
The other fun element to this card is that it's a shaker.  These are just a blast to make and so fun to receive!

Flamingo Lingo was the set that Stampin' Up had chosen last year as the Ronald McDonald House donation set.  What a wonderful thing....you get to buy cool, fun products and do a good deed at the same time.  As much as I'm going to miss this flamingo set, I did get a sneak peek at the new catalog today and the new Ronald McDonald House set.  Wow, is it ever cute!  It's got loads of versatility and It's definitely going straight to the top of my wish list!  I can't wait to get my hands on it and share projects with you!  It makes me giddy with excitement just thinking about it!

Thanks again to the gals over at The Friday Mashup for letting my hang out for the month!
