HSS 239 Inspiration Challenge

Hello stampers!  It's time for another Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge!  This time we've got an awesome inspiration challenge chosen by Linda.  Isn't it wonderful...so fresh!  There are tons of directions to go here!  I had several ideas but couldn't nail down which way to go.  I finally settled on using my new-to-me set, {Remarkable You} again.  I chose to use the colors from the inspiration photos (plus black) to watercolor this beauty of a flower.  I used Daffodil Delight, Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo, and Pear Pizzazz, along with my aquapainter.
I love inspiration challenges....it kinda leaves things wide open for interpretation!
I also used this fun sketch from The Challenge #75.

I tried a variety of different backgrounds but finally ended up just embossing the leaf design on a piece of Very Vanilla with clear embossing powder.  I like the way it turned out.  My original idea was to emboss and then run my brayer over it using Flirty Flamingo ink, but I decided I liked it plain better.  I think it's more elegant.
I also used a couple pieced of DSP....the green gingham from Farmers Market and the black and cream is from the fun new stack called Playful Palette.

Everything is layered on a base of Peekaboo Peach.  I must say that the new In-colors from the new catalog are yummy!  They remind me of my last favorite set that included Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe and  Baked Brown Sugar.  I used those colors a TON!  I can see these new ones will be well loved as well!

I hope you can carve out some crafting time and join us in this fun challenge!

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Playful Lilies ~ CCMC408

Well, well, well....here we are!  Another Create with Connie and Mary has rolled around and it's color challenge week!  I love a good color challenge and this one is so pretty!  These colors are soft and beautiful and were screaming out to me to be made into flowers!  LOL!
Believe it or not, this is a brand-new-to-me set.  I've hemmed and hawed around and admired many a card made with this {Remarkable You} set.  Finally, after seeing it was going to be around for at least another year (in the new catalog) I made the leap and ordered it.  Boy, am I glad I did!  It can go casual or more formal as well!
I watercolored the pair of Cala Lilies with my aquapainter and Blushing Bride ink.  I painted the stamen So Saffron.  The leaves were colored with Mint Macaron.  I fussy cut everything out and mounted it on a So Saffron Tag.  The whole thing is layered on a base of BRAND NEW designer paper from a stack called Playful Palette.  I just love this cool crosshatch/plaid black and cream pattern.

I also added a layer of Wink of Stella to each flower and the leaves.  It adds such an elegant sparkle.
Lastly I added a healthy sprinkling of black sequins and rhinestones.  I figured on giving this away as a wedding card, so the more sparkle the better! :)
The "Congrats" sentiment is from {Cottage Greetings}.

The whole thing is tied together with some Blushing Bride cotton ribbon.

I stamped the lillies again on the inside of the card and also the greeting "Wishing You Ridiculous Amounts of Happiness" from {Cottage Greetings}.

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: Remarkable You, Cottage Greetings
Ink: Stazon Black, Blushing Bride, So Saffron, Mint Macaron
Paper: watercolor, Blushing Bride, So Saffron, Black, Vanilla, Playful Palette DSP
Accessories: Metallic Sequins, Blushing Bride cotton ribbon, Rhinestones, Wink of Stella clear

Make sure to check out the other designers fab work at the CCMC site.
Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

CONgratUlaTIONS! ~ CCMC407

Happy Thursday everyone!  It's Create with Connie and Mary time again!
I'm on a roll with graduation cards and figured the "Congratulations" from {Bravo} could be a perfect match-up for my grad card needs and this week's sketch!
I was also inspired by Libby's card from our sketch challenge two weeks ago.  I loved the black and gray with the pop of pink.  This silver sparkle and shine make it go girly glam, I think.  I love it!

Instead of putting a greeting under the horizontal stripes I added a little dangling star.

I hope you'll find time to play along with us at CCMC this week!  Hop on over to the blog and check out the creations from the other amazing designers!
Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Hip-Hip Shaker ~ HSS238

Hello stampers!  Today is another fabulous Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge!  We have a really cool sketch for you this time around.
As soon as I laid eyes on this sketch I knew it had to be a shaker!  I love a shaker card!
I went a route that could be birthday or graduation.  I have need of lots of graduation cards right now, so that's what I'm leaning towards.

My card this week is actually made up of scraps or discarded pieces.  I love it when I can make scrapped pieces useful!
The striped background paper is actually something I was experimenting with and ended up not using it on another project.  I do love the graduated color from dark to light on it!
The little piece of DSP in the window is another scrap that's been laying on my desk waiting to be used.  It's been there a long time too!

Make sure to hop over to the HSS blog and take a look at the other cards designed by our fabulous team!  There's tons of inspiration.  And as usual, I hope you'll find time to play along with us!

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Starfish Dreams ~ CCMC406 & SSINKCS33

Good morning stampers!  It's Create with Connie and Mary Thursday again!  This week is a cool, sort-of monochromatic trio.  I love all the samples the other designers have come up with, too, so check them out here.   I also used the sketch from Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration 33.

Last week I used the rose image from {Picture Perfect} and this week I decided to go with the starfish image.  Maybe next week I'll use the hummingbird...who knows!
I mainly went with the starfish because I thought it worked nicely with the color combination and also went well as a focal point for the sketch.

I love all the texture on this card in the form of the distressing and embossing.  The starfish image itself gives lots of texture illusion, so I played off of that!

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Picture Perfect Shabby Chic ~ CCMC405

Hey stampers!  It's Thursday....and what does that mean?  Create with Connie and Mary, of course! This week is sketch week.  What do you think of it?  I happen to LOVE this sketch!  I had so much fun creating this card....in fact, this might be my favorite card to date.  At least in my top 5 faves anyway!
I made it with two stamps sets that I finally got around to ordering.  (I do have to admit that getting the sneak peek of the new catalog helped me out a bit!)  {Timeless Textures}, which I used to create the weathered wood look background and {Picture Perfect}.  The wood background was inspired by Dena Rekow, who made this fun video showcasing the weathered wood technique. Dena is so fun and talented and I love watching her videos!

I simply adore the shabby chic look of this card!  It will be perfect for mother's day!
So, aren't these colors just fabulous together!  I can see why they call this set {Picture Perfect}.  That rose looks so realistic!

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: Timeless Textures, Picture Perfect
Ink: Blushing Bride, Melon Mambo, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, Versamark, Smokey Slate, Sahara Sand
Paper: Pool Party, White, Blushing Bride, gold glimmer
Accessories: Chalk Talk framelits, paper doily, burlap ribbon, white embossing powder, honeycomb embossing folder

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Split Window Flower ~ HSS237

Isn't this just a wonderful color combination we have for you this time at Hand Stamped Sentiments?
It's so fresh and vibrant, just ready for your spring themed card!  Since Mothers Day is right around the corner, that's the theme that I was going for.  This is going to be for my mom.  She is such a blessing to me and I don't know what I'd do without her!

I tried the no line watercolor technique again....it's so much fun!  I just love the look it gives.  It makes you look like a true artist!

I hope you find time to join us at Hand Stamped Sentiments!
I'm looking forward to seeing the work in the gallery!  As always, make sure you check out all the other fabulous designers blogs and share the love with them!  We love to hear from you!
Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!
