Is anyone else dreaming of someplace tropical?  I'd love to be laying on a beach somewhere looking at a sunset like this and surrounded by tropical flowers!  Sounds so lovely doesn't it?
So, today's card is for Create with Connie and Mary's new color challenge.  I automatically think of a sunset and water when I look at these colors, so that's the direction I went!
I also used the sketch from The Paper Players so help me complete my inspiration.

Stamps: Waterfront, Tropical Chic
Ink: Grapefruit Grove, Daffodil Delight, Coastal Cabana
Paper: White
Accessories: Braided trim, Stitched Shapes dies, Tropical Thinlits die, sponges

Spring Birds ~ CCMC604, IB116, PP482

Hello stampers!  Today's card is for Create with Connie and Mary's Sketch Challenge #604.
I also used the inspirations from Inspired By #116, and The Paper Players #482 of Spring flowers.
I actually had the die cut with the colored birds laying around on my desk for several weeks.  I had originally colored it for another challenge and decided I didn't like it for that one.....but for this one it worked out perfectly!  I love being able to use my cast away pieces!  Everything was colored with Smokey Slate, Flirty Flamingo, Real Red, Mossy Meadow, Crumb Cake, and Pool Party Blends.  I added a Flirty Flamingo colored flower with leaves to the corner of the main panel, as well as some sliver thread to add a bit more interest.
Nothing says spring (or summer) more than gingham check, so that's what I went with for my background panel.  I also stamped the Pool Party base with Versamark flowers for a very subtle background accent.

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Clean and Simple Spring Flowers ~ HSS335, GDP232, PP482, ATCAS

Hello stampers!  Today's card is for Hand Stamped Sentiments #335 -- our March sketch challenge.  I also incorporated the colors from Global Design Project case the designer, the theme from The Paper Players spring flowers challenge, and the code word of Circle from Addicted to CAS
I love these bright, spring colors from Connie Collins card, so that was my jumping off point, and her layout was similar to our sketch for HSS as well!  I used the little flowers from Beautiful Bouquet and stamped them in Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight, and Coastal Cabana (leaves).  The centers of the Poppy colored flowers are punched from a small hole punch.
I definitely wanted to keep everything CAS and let the flowers shine.  I love to incorporated texture in my cards, so I chose the retired Quilt Top EF as it matches up nicely with the Code Word from ATCAS which is circles.

Sepia Butterfly ~ CCMC603, SPS003, GDP231

Hello Stampers!  Today's card is for Create with Connie and Mary's newest color challenge featuring Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, and Soft Suede.
I love to have multiple forms of inspiration, so I also used the the sketch from Stampin' Pretty Sketchbook #003 and the theme from Global Design Project #231.
I watercolored my butterfly from Beautiful Day in Soft Suede, giving it a sepia look, which I love!  The black banner in the background is embossed with my Tin Tile EF and then I lightly rubbed over it with my gold metallic stamp pad.  The sprigs of Old Olive leaves were cut from my Well Written dies and the Shimmer Gold sprigs were punched with my Sprig Punch.  The little Pear Pizzazz flowers are also cut from the Well Written dies and each one has a gold pearl in the center.
The distressed Soft Suede background panel was run through my Big Shot with the Subtle EF before it got distressed.  I then backed it with a slightly larger piece of Old Olive....just big enough so you can see a smidgen of it behind there.  The whole thing sits on a base of Pear Pizzazz cardstock.

Embossed Bloom and Grow ~ HSS334, PP480

Hello stampers!  Today's card is for Hand Stamped Sentiments March Inspiration Challenge #334.  I was inspired by the colors of the Lilly pads in the bottom left corner.
One of my favorite sets to color these days is Bloom and Grow.  I really love all the different flower images in that set and seem to gravitate towards it a lot lately!
I chose to watercolor the images again.  First I embossed the floral images with black embossing powder and then colored with my pads and aquapainter.  I'm playing along with the Paper Players heat embossing challenge too!
I used Melon Mambo, Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green, Call Me Clover, Gorgeous Grape and Pool Party.
I accented the main panel with gold foil and set it all on a Basket Weave embossed black cardbase.  I few scattered gold glitter enamel dots and an black embossed happy birthday sentiment complete my card.

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!
