Green, Green and More Green..Oh, and Gray

This card is for Saturday Sketch Challenge 246 and Colour Q 128.  I enjoyed this color challenge way more than I thought I would.  I wasn't really sure how all these greens were gonna look together, but I love the way it turned out!  The inspiration for the color combo was a fun pillow with all kinds of green lines on it.  I immediately thought of the herringbone technique I saw over at splitcoaststampers.  What a fun technique to do.....it looks complicated but is really easy!  What a great way to use up all those scraps!

Here's a list of supplies I used.........
Stamps: Fresh Vintage, Say It In Style (CTMH)
Paper: assorted DP, Going Gray, Wild Wasabi, Textured White (Colorbook)
Ink: Certainly Celery, Garden Green
Accessories: Celery ribbon, Latte Buttons, 1 3/8" circle punch, Scallop circle punch, Gray bakers twine, Scallop border punch

Birthday Bakery for RS2 & CR84FN50

I made this card for two challenges.  First, for Retro Sketches #2.   I was totally inspired by Jackie Rockwell's card (she's one of the designers) and knew the Birthday Bakery stamp set would be perfect for it!  It's sort of a take on the spotlight technique.  The second challenge is CR8RFN #50.  This is a color combo challenge using pink, yellow and orange.  I love this combo, especially when it ranges in the brighter hues!  This is my first time playing along at CR84FN.
I got a chance to use my new pom pom trim and big designer buttons, which I just purchased from the clearance bin on my SIL's Stampin Up website.  If you need to order, just hop on over to the side bar of my blog and click on "order supplies here" and you'll be fixed up in a jiffy!  There are some cute things in there for little cost.  I love, love, love all the new products that SU comes out with, but I enjoy a good deal too!  To make the button sit flat over the ribbon, I clipped off about three poms and it created the perfect little nest for the button.  I also added some glitter to the cakes for extra fun and sparkle.  I used blender pens and ink to color the "spotlight" cakes.

Here's a list of the suppies I used.....
Stamps: Birthday Bakery, On Your Birthday (sentiment)
Paper: Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, White
Ink: Same as Paper, Stazon Black
Accessories: swirly EF, melon mambo pom pom trim, big designer button, dimentionals, white satin ribbon (Walmart), dazzling diamonds glitter

Mojo 331 Just Believe Butterfly

This card is for Mojo Monday Sketch 231.  I used my large paper doily for the half circle part of the sketch and I must say I'm a little dissapointed with the way this die cuts.....it takes alot of work to get all the little cut-outs poked out.  It just doesn't work they way it should, I feel.  Does anyone else think this?
I colored the butterfly with chalks after I stamped the black image on it.  I also embossed the butterfly with Glassy Glaze to make it extra special.  Here is a list of the other supplies I used with this card..........
Stamps: Just Believe
Ink: Black
Paper: Black, Island Indigo, Pool Party, Calypso Coral, White
Accessories: Chalks, glassy glaze EP, bigz beautiful butterflies, floral fusion die, large paper doily, black 1/2 pearls, 1/8" organdy ribbon, big designer button, in-color brad, circle punch, square lattice EF, stripped grosgrain ribbon

Growing Green with PPA130 & RS1

Here's another double challenge card!  I just love it when that happens!!!  The colors are from Pals Paper Arts #130 which challenged us to use Always Artichoke, Lucky Limeade and another color of our choice.  As you can see I chose So Saffron.  I just love the look of green and yellow together.  The second challenge is a BRAND NEW sketch challenge site called Retro Sketches.  This is for Retro Sketches #1.  This site looks like it's gonna be a lot of fun and they sure started out with a great sketch.  I used the layered marker technique on the leafy stamp.
