Tropical Waterfront Reverse Mask ~ CTD486, TTTC041

Hey there stampers!  I made today's card for Color Throwdown #486 featuring Blushing Bride, Flirty Flamingo, and Peekaboo Peach.  I'm also joining Tic Tac Toe Challenge #41 and I used circle (well, mine's an oval), flower, and die cut.  I used an oval die cut to do the reverse mask technique.  If you've never tried reverse masking here's a link to a quick video showing the technique.

For my card I laid the mask down on my piece of white 4" x 5 1/4" and sponged the three featured inks over the oval.  I then stamped the sun in Peekaboo Peach and the beach scene from {Waterfront} in Basic Gray ink.  The sea birds are from the set {High Tide}.  The sentiment comes from {And Many More}.  I added a couple of die cut flowers from Botanical Builders Framelits, cut out of white cardstock and then sponged with the coordinating inks.  I sponged the little leave with Smokey Slate ink.  lastly, I added some silver cord tied in a nice little bow.  I'm loving the simple look of this!

Fear Not Wreath ~ CC89, CTS265

Hello stampers!  I saw a card on YouTube recently and was inspired to make a wreath out of flowers.  I used the inspiration photo at The Card Concept #89 and the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch #265. I had a ton of fun creating this card!

I was inspired by the colors in the photo from The Card Concept.  I saw a little bit of pink on the erasers of the pencils on the desk and drew that color out in my card.  I flipped the sketch from CTS upside down.
I used most of the flowers and green sprigs from {Jar of Love} and snuck in the rose-looking flower and single leaf from {Happy Birthday Gorgeous}.  The sentiment came from {Rose Wonder}.

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: Jar of Love, Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Rose Wonder
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, Flirty Flamingo, Wild Wasabi, Black
Paper: Very Vanilla
Accessories: lace trim, regal rose 1/8' ribbon (retired), pearls

Sale-A-Bration CASE ~ CCMC503, ATSM285, SIP143

Hey there stampers!  This week is color week over at Create with Connie and Mary.  Our colors this week are Night of Navy, Crumb Cake, and Tranquil Tide.  I was low on time this week and decided to CASE the card from the cover of the second Sale-a-bration catalog.
I changed it up a little bit by using different colors, obviously, and using the Amazing die cut instead of the stamp.  I used the Night Of Navy and Crumb Cake Blends markers to color the main flower and then added clear Wink of Stella to the plain flowers and leaves.  I'm liking all the extra texture the fussy cut flowers lend to the card.  Now that I'm looking at the original card I see that I forgot to add the copper or gold thread behind the blue flower.  Darn!
I'm using the inspiration photo from Addicted to Stamps and More #285 as well at the basket of flowers challenge #143 at Stamp Ink Paper.

Bright Spring Butterfly ~ HSS286, FF0004

Hello Stampers!  It's Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch time!  I also used Festive Friday 0004 to help me out with my card. I chose Flowers.  Aren't these cute little orange blossoms?  I love how they look with the big, bold butterfly.
I colored the butterfly with my dark yellow and light and dark orange Blends markers.  I just love the rich color these markers achieve.  I also used the same colors on the little blossoms as well as the light and dark old olive markers for the leaves.  I added some bling to the centers of each flower and also to the body of the butterfly.

Check out our HSS homepage and welcome our new design team members.  I think there are five new ladies added to our group!  More inspiration!  And as ususal we hope you'll play along with us.  Remember that all HSS challenges run for two weeks at a time.

CAS Rainbow Daisy ~ CCMC502, PP385

Hello stampers!  It's sketch week at Create with Connie and Mary and here's my design team card!
I also saw that The Paper Players was having a Clean and Simple Rainbow challenge and I thought that might be fun to join up with.  Anything rainbow seems to bring a smile to many faces!  It's just a happy, happy color combination!
I had a ton of fun putting this card together.

The first thing I did was search around on Pinterest for rainbow inspiration and I came across this flower that I found interesting.
Rainbow Flower
I love daisies and this one is so bright and colorful!  I knew it would be fairly easy to re-create.
I punched out three watercolor paper daisies with my daisy punch and layered them together.  I gave it a mist with my water spritzer and laid on the colors with my aqua painter and ink pads.  I used Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Wild Wasabi, Pacific Point, Marina Mist, Elegant Eggplant, and Rich Razzleberry.
I colored the center with Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry and then made little cuts into the center of the circle to create a "fringe" effect like the center of the inspiration photo.
I kept the rest of the card black and white, with the exception of the little strip of green glimmer paper.
I also added some Wink of Stella to each petal and the center of the flower for added shine.

I hope you'll take time to play with us at Create with Connie and Mary this week!

Basic Gray Painted Harvest CCMC501, CAS263

Hey stampers!  It's Thursday and that means another Create with Connie and Mary Challenge!  This week its color.  Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, and Lemon Lime Twist are the palette for challenge #501.  How fun, right?!
I used the CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #263 to help me create my card this week.  I really had a good time putting this one together.  I saw a card on Pinterest done with the Painted Harvest set in black and white.  I started having all kinds of thoughts about filling in the black and white image with watercolor, so that's where my inspiration came from!  After doing a little experimenting I finally settled on stamping the images in Basic Gray on watercolor paper.  I stamped the "bottom" flower once stamped off and then the top full strength.  I did the same with the fern looking leaf.  The flower center was also stamped off one time.
I added the color with my aquapainter and stamp pads.
After the coloring was done, I a cut several (about 5) of the Amazing die cuts and stacked them together using tombo liquid glue.  I dry laid it in place so I could see where to stamp the you using Basic Gray ink.  After the YOU was stamped, I ran the whole piece through the Big Shot with my Basket Weave Dynamic Impressions folder.  I'm in love with the texture!  I glued the Amazing into place and added the card front to a bit of Calypso Coral cardstock and then on a Basic Gray base.
The last thing I did was add a bit of Wink of Stella to the flowers, leaves and Amazing for some dazzle.

I just love how this one turned out....and it came out pretty much like I saw it in my head!
here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: Painted Harvest, Amazing You
Ink: Calypso Coral, Lemon Lime Twist, Bermuda Bay, Basic Gray, Smokey Slate
Paper: watercolor, Basic Gray, Calypso Coral, Bermuda Bay
Accessories: Wink of Stella, Celebrate You Thinlit dies, Basket Weave Dynamic folder

Copper and Pink Springtime ~ HSS285, TGIF150, SUO196

Hello stampers!  Today's card is for the newest inspiration challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  Our design team has come up with some beautiful creations, so check it out and make sure you leave them some comments!  I also used the sketch from TGIF #150 to make my card.  I'm also entering SU Only Challenge #196 which is all about spring!
I went with the beautiful Springtime foil DSP.  For the background I swiped the entire piece with Memento black ink and then took a paper towel and wiped off the excess.  I makes the paper look like charcoal and lets the foil shine through.  I really like this look!  I thought it mimicked the center black picture from the inspiration collage.  I colored a single flower from the same paper with my pink Pirouette and old olive blends markers, fussy cut it out and layered it on a copper foil scalloped circle and then a vellum circle.  For the horizontal element across the bottom I cut another strip from a coordinating paper from Springtime foils as well.  The sentiment banner is stamped in versamark and embossed with copper EF and is from the awesome Sale-a-bration set {Amazing You}.

A few scattered pearl finished off my card.  I'm so excited to see what everyone comes up with for this challenge!  I'm looking forward to seeing your creations in the gallery!
