Bloom and Grow Poppy Case ~ CCMC594, CTC260

Hello stampers!  Today's card is for Create with Connie and Mary's sketch challenge #594.  I also used inspiration from Casing the Catty challenge #260 by casing the colors from the Peaceful Poppies suite.  I used Poppy Parade, Flirty Flamingo, Old Olive, and Pool Party.
I started by stamping a flower image from Bloom and Grow in Versamark ink onto watercolor paper and embossed it with shimmery black embossing powder.  I colored the image with my aquapainter and ink pads.  I paid homage to Dena Rekow by splatting my image by flicking the tip of my black stampin' write marker with the lid.  Just watch a few of her YouTube videos and you are bound to see the technique!  I like the look it adds!
For the background elements I die cut my Flirty Flamingo panel with my stitched lace die, backed it with Whisper White, and then layered it on black.  I ran the Poppy Parade piece through the big shot with my Country Floral EF.  The whole thing is mounted on a black base.  The sentiment is from Well Said.

Sympathy Rose ~ CCMC330

Hello Stampers and welcome back to Hand Stamped Sentiments 2020!  We are kicking off the year with a pretty color challenge.
My mind immediately went to flowers when I saw these colors and I've been itching to try the Christmas Rose in a non-Christmas way!  This was the perfect opportunity!  I made it a sympathy card because unfortunately I always need to have those on hand.
I used my masks and Champagne Shimmer paint to create the elegant and subtle looking background.  The sentiment is from a retired set called Rose Wonder.  I've always loved the sentiments from that set.  I finished it off with some organza ribbon and pearls.  The card base is embossed with the basketweave EF.

Thanks for taking a peek and I hope you'll join us over at HSS for this fun challenge!

Rhino Baby ~ CCMC593, FMS419

Hello Stampers and Happy New Year!  Can you believe we are in the year 2020?  How exciting!
Create with Connie and Mary is back after a short break for the Holidays and we are kicking off the new year with a soft color combo.  I saw baby when I looked at these colors so that's were I went.  I used the Animal Outing stamp set and also used the paper piecing technique.
For the background I used the polkadot decorative mask and white craft ink.  I always think polkadots lend themselves nicely to a baby card.
My design also uses the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches #416.

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day and new year!!!

Christmas Gleaming Bird ~ CCMC592

Hello stampers and welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Sketch Challenge.  I've combined two different stamp sets to make my card this week....Christmas Gleaming and Free as a Bird, which was inspired by the case the designer challenge at Global Design Project. As long as I've had this Free as a Bird set I've wanted to make the birds into Christmas birds.  I'm happy I finally did it and it was such fun!
I stamped the large bird image and two of the holly images on watercolor paper with Stazon ink and watercolored with my aquapainter and ink pads.  The colors I used are: Sahara Sand, Soft Suede, Real Red, and Shaded Spruce.
I fussy cut them all out after they dried.  I added Shimmery Crystal Effects to the holly berries to make them stand out a bit more.
The images are layered on a piece of Night of Navy CS embossed with the Softly Falling EF, and then layered on a mat of Real Red.  The Background is the wonderful Wrapped in Plaid DSP.
My horizontal accents consist of a Real Red Strip, embossed with the Subtle EF, and a itty bitty strip of gold glimmer, topped off with a bow of linen thread.

My card also takes in the Festive Friday Challenge using metallic paper, embossing folder, and snow/snowflakes.

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Peaceful Pines ~ CCMC591, CTC258

Hey stampers!  Today's card is for Create with Connie and Mary's new color challenge featuring Night of Navy, Pretty Peacock, and Mossy Meadow.  I also used Casing the Catty's case challenge #258.  I cased the card on page 15.

No photo description available.

I used the shimmer embossing paste on my white background panel and I love the way it turned out!  To coordinate with the sparkle in the paste, I cut the base of the pine cone out of white sparkle glimmer paper.  It looks so nice together!

God's Peace ~ CCMC590, CASCS350

Hello stampers!  Today's card is for Create with Connie and Mary's new sketch challenge.  I modified mine slightly by exchanging the circle element for a stitched nested label die.  I also used the color combo from CAS Colours & Sketches challenge #350 featuring Cherry Cobbler, Metallic Gold, and Shaded Spruce.
I used my God's Peace stamp set, which I thing is so beautiful and fun to watercolor.  The script scripture from this set is absoluetly gorgeous and I wanted to add it to my card so I stamped it lightly in the background of my main watercolor paper panel and then again on the card base.

I spritzed the main panel with Shimmer Spritz....I love the added shimmer!

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Sparkle The Snowman ~ HSS329, SSC219, PP470

Hello stampers!  Today's card is for the new sketch at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  I took some liberties with the sketch and made my main image snowman toward the center of the card instead of off to the right.  I tried it there and it just didn't look good.  My center strip is also a little wider than the one in the sketch.
I also took inspiration from Sunday Sketch Challenge #219 using the colors Blueberry Bushel, Real Red, Shaded Spruce, and Flirty Flamingo.  I also used  the theme from The Paper Players 470 - Frosty The Snowman.

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!
