Grateful Watercolor Leaf Trio ~ HSS472, TTTC279

Hello!  Today's card is for Hand Stamped Sentiments new color challenge using Darling Duckling, Timid Tiger, and Pretty Peacock.  These are fall-ish colors, but still fun and bright. I'm also playing along with Tic Tac Toe challenge using Rectangle/Three or more colors/Embossing.
I chose to watercolor the colors onto watercolor paper and then die cut all my elements.  I love the variation of colors you can get by using this technique.  Everything on the main panel of the card is from the Label Me Grateful bundle.  For the background I used the Sunflower 3-D folder, adding texture and a fall feel.  I also added a Z-fold vanilla satin ribbon behind the main panel for a little extra something.  The yellow dot embellishments are from Dots for Days.

Pajama Print Inspired ~ GDP510

Today's card was born out of inspiration of my cute summer pajamas!  I just loved the colors and the leopard on them and couldn't wait to turn it into a card!  I also used the sketch from Global Design Project to help me along.

The actual color of the pajamas is really close to Pretty Peacock...much closer than the inspiration photo shows.  I chose to use my Happy Hibiscus set to mimic the tropical feel of the jammies.  I used a bit of Like An Animal DSP for the backdrop of the florals to bring in the leopard.  I just love this paper and will be sad when I use the last bit of it up.  Leopard print is an absolute favorite of mine.
I colored the hibiscus flowers with blends markers and them cut and embossed them with the folder and die.  I used Pretty In Pink, Strawberry Slush, and Poppy Parade with little bit of Peach Pie, for the flowers, and Mossy Meadow for the leaves.  I also did a lot of ink blending with my blending brushes on the backgrounds and the tips of the Mossy Meadow die cut leaves.
I'm really in love with these rich colors!

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: Happy Hibiscus, Sweet Blooms
Ink: Pretty Peacock, Versamark, Memento Black, Mossy Meadow pads; Pretty in Pink, Strawberry Slush, Poppy Parade, Peach Pie, Mossy Meadow blends.
Paper: Like An Animal DSP, Pretty Peacock, Gold Glimmer, White, Mossy Meadow, Secret Sea

Pastel Purple Sunflower ~ HSS470, CI193, TGIF538, JAI764

Today's card is for our new sketch challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments. I was also able to incorporate some of my other favorite challenges along the way while making this card!  I started out with the color challenge at Colour Inkspiration using Highland Heather, Balmy Blue and Cloud Cover.  I used some DSP from County Woods, so that took in TGIF's product challenge.  Next, I incorporated pearls, pastels, and patterned paper, even though the challenge at Just Add Ink says to choose only two. :)

I really wanted to play with my Sunflower 3-D folder and decided I was gonna have a purple sunflower as my starting point.  I embossed a piece of water color paper, flipped it over to the de-bossed side, and dragged my Balmy Blue ink pad over the whole thing.  I sprayed the entire piece with water and then dabbed off the excess to soften the blue background.  I then used sponge daubers to dab and rub the Highland Heather ink onto the petals of the sunflower.  I did the same with Cloud Cover ink on the leaves and Early Espresso to the center.  (Here's a link to this technique. She demonstrates it about 24 minutes into the video.) After it was all colored, I flicked some water from my water painter onto the image and dabbed it off again to pick up some of the ink for an extra vintage look.  It's very subtle, but if you look close you can see it.  Next I flicked ink from my Early Espresso marker onto the panel.  I antiqued the edges by sponging Cloud Cover around all sides. With the main panel done, I turned to the background pieces.  The base is Cloud Cover, with ink sponged around it for the antique look.  Next is a layer of County Woods DSP.  I roughed up the edges of the paper and tore off the top corner.  I added Highland Heather to the torn corner after I roughed it and sponged it up too. The long panel is a sponged piece of Cloud Cover topped with a layer of Highland Heather that I embossed with my Tasteful Textile folder.  I blended Highland Heather ink over the whole thing, as well as Cloud Cover.  I also added some speckles from Notes of Nature stamp set.  The sentiment and die are from Unbounded Love bundle.  I embossed the word Friend in white EP.  Lastly, I added a few Antique Pearls to finish this card off.

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: Unbounded Love, Notes of Nature
Ink: Balmy Blue, Highland Heather, Cloud Cover, Early Espresso
Paper: Country Woods DSP, Cloud Cover, Highland Heather, Watercolor
Accessories: Sunflower 3D embossing folder, Tasteful Textile EF, Antique Pearls, White EF, Unbounded Love die

Latte Love Blue Birthday ~ TTTC275

Hello stampers!  Today's card is a special one for my brother's birthday.  He said he always looks forward to his birthday card from me every year, and  I really tried to incorporate some of the things he loves.  He loves his coffee and he also loves shades of blue and teal.  The challenge from Tic Tac Toe #275 fit into his card perfectly.  I used the middle down portion of circles/blue/birthday.
I started off by ink blending my background with Secret Sea, Blueberry Bushel, Azure Afternoon, and Coastal Cabana.  I die cut the same size piece of white with my Split Textures die, stamped it with some of the coffee stains and splatters from the Latte Love set, and layered it on top of the blended background.  After that I set to stamping the coffee cups on a scrap of white.  I stamped each one in the either Secret Sea or Blueberry Bushel and then colored them with the coordinating color blends markers.
I cut the coffee cups out and arranged them on the diagonal along the line if the background die cut.  I tucked in a few leafy branches and flowers cut from Country Flowers die behind the cups. I cut a couple leaf bunches in Coastal Cabana and a couple in white. I brushed the white ones with Coastal Cabana ink. I brushed the larger flowers with Blueberry Bushel ink and the small ones with Secret Sea. The sentiment is from an old set called Happy Hour. I embossed it in white on Azure Afternoon cardstock and then cut it with a die cut from Something Fancy. A little linen thread bow and some Charming Shimmer Faceted Gems finished off the card.

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: Latte Live, Happy Hour, Press On
Ink: Secret Sea, Blueberry Bushel,  Azure Afternoon,  Coastal Cabana, Crumb Cake, Versamark
Paper: Azure Afternoon, White, Coastal Cabana
Accessories: Charming Shimmer Faceted Gems, Split Texture die, Country Flowers die, Something Fancy die.

As You See It Guest Designer ~ AYSI353

Today's card is yet again another special one!  This time I get to be a guest designer at As You See It Challenge!  AYSI #353 is a card recipe.  We are charged to use all five ingredients to make our cards. This was a lot of fun!  I'm really excited to see all the others that are created using the recipe.

I used mainly black and gold with a smidgen of white on my card.  I heat embossed my Charming Day flower cluster in gold embossing powder on Black cardstock.  This was my starting point.  Next, I worked on the background.  I used a piece of Gold Mercury Vellum for the background.  For the second portion of the background, I grabbed a piece of Country Woods DSP that had gray, white, and black hues in it.  I then embossed it with my Time Worn Text embossing folder.  After it was embossed, I swiped my memento black ink pad directly over the top of it to accentuate the dry embossed texture.  finally, I tore the top and the bottom portions of the paper and adhered it to the Mercury Foil.
For the focal point, I used most of the die cuts from Charming Day and Unbounded Love in Black CS, Gold Foil DSP, and Be Dazzling DSP.  I added some Gold Mesh ribbon and some Drusy Embellishments to round out the project.  The sentiment is from Everyday Greetings.
