Hello stampers! Today's card is for TGIF Challenges #527. The challenge this week is to use the Celebratory Sips collection. I'm also playing along with Addicted To Stamps and More-any occasion challenge.
I embossed one of the DSP's with the glass from the Cheers and Sips set in white and then cut it out with the coordinating die. I liked the red color in this glass. Next, I stamped the orange slices, mint leaves, and cherries on watercolor paper in each respective color of Timid Tiger, Old Olive, and Real Red. I brushed some water over them all and also added a little ink water coloring.
After coloring, I cut them out with the coordinating dies and layered them on an Everyday Arches white die cut that was already laying on my desk from a previous project!
For the background panel, I did a watercolor wash of Daffodil Delight and Old Olive. After it dried I embossed it with the Garden and Glass EF.
I finished off the card by embossing on Timid Tiger CS and fussy cutting the Cheers sentiment and then adding a white twine curly bow behind it. I also accessorized with another little strip of Celebratory Sips DSP, and some glassy dots. The To You sentiment was Stamped in Timid Tiger ink on a white scrap strip and cut at an angle to add interest. The whole thing was splattered with white ink to finish. The only thing I wish I had added, looking back, was a brush of ink on the arch background behind the glass. I may have to re-do this card and try that. I cut several of these little wine glasses in different colors from the DSP, so I definitely could try again!
