Pink Cherry Scalloped Layers

This sweet little number is for Color Throwdown  #228, Freshly Made Sketches #72, and Try Stamping On Tuesday #104.  The two sketch are very similar, so I think this card qualifies for both!

My idea started with the layered scallops.  I cut strips of First Edition DP, trimmed them with the scallop edge punch and layered them on the bottom of the card.  I figured the whole background done in the scallops would be too much, so I added a scrap of gray hounds-tooth  to the top.  Next I concentrated on the flower.  I cut two of the big flowers from the Blossom Party die, as well as a couple of smaller ones.  I ran them through the Big Shot using my Lacy Brocade EF and crumpled them up to make them look kinda distressed. I layered them all together with a small, gray flower button, added some Cherry Cobbler seam binding ribbon and some gray pearls and this card was done!  Oh yeah, except for one thing....a little spritz of Champagne Shimmer spray.  It gave the whole card a bit of sparkle!  As you can see I substituted Cherry Cobbler for the Riding Hood Red.

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: none
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Pink Pirouette, First Edition, and  Houndstooth & Scaringbone DP
Ink: None
Accessories: Cherry Seam Binding ribbon, Gray pearls, Neutrals button, Blossom Party die, Scallop Edge punch, Champagne Shimmer spray, Lacy Brocade EF

Glittery Brilliance - PDCC137

Today's card is for The Play Date Cafe Challenge 137.  The colors are black & white with a splash of  blue.

Here's what I came up with....I was totally inspired by the silver flower in the inspiration photo.  I started out by cutting three flowers (two big and one small) out of my Blossom Party die in Brilliant Blue cardstock.  I sponged black ink on the edges of all three flowers.  Next I added a touch of glue on the tips of the flowers and sprinkled them with silver glitter.  I finished the flower off with an antique silver glitter brad from Making Memories.

I used Black Satin ribbon with a layer of braided silver cord to offset the pretty brocade looking patterened paper.
Here's a complete list of all the supplies.....
Stamps: none
Paper: Black, White, Brilliant Blue, Recolections patterened paper
Ink: Black
Accessories: Blossom Party die, Antiqued Silver Glitter brad, Black Satin ribbon, Silver braided cord, Silver glitter

Muted Herringbone - FM51

Todays card is for The Friday Mashup #51.  This weeks challenge was to create a quilted card and use scraps that have been forgotten.  I just love this herringbone technique.  It is really fun to create and always gives stunning results.  I've had this patterned paper in my stash for a couple of years now and just havn't used it much.  I believe it's from K & Company.  I remember picking out in the store and thinking at the time that I could do so many things with it.  I guess that was not to be, because once I got it home it just sat.  The Friday Mashup Challenge was the perfect place to put this paper to use and I'm thrilled with the results!  For the finishing touch, I cut two little flowers from the Blossom Party die and misted them both with Champagne Shimmer mist.  This adds so much to any card.  I made my own shimmer mist by mixing 1 part shimmer paint to 2 parts rubbing alcohol.  I mixed them up in a little mister bottle and voila!  Champagne Shimmer mist!
Here are the supplies I used on this card....
Stamps: Card Chatter-Sympathy from Close To My Heart
Paper: DP from K & Company, Soft Suede, Vanilla
Ink: Soft Suede
Accessories: Blossom Party Die, Framelits die, Champagne Shimmer Mist, Half Pearl, Twine, Script EF

Blue Blossom - CCMC194

This card is for Create with Connie and Mary Sketch Challenge 194.  I created the flower panel many weeks ago for another CCMC using Night of Navy, Lucky Limeade, and River Rock, but never used it on the card I made for that challenge.  It's been sitting on my desk just waiting to be used in a project.  I bet this cute little flower is glad to finally get put to use.
