Hello Penguin ~ CCMC358 & CASEing the Catty

Hello!  It's Thursday and that mean another great Create With Connie and Mary Challenge!  This week we've got an outstanding color combo for you.....

I was browsing around Pinterest to find something to give me inspiration and I came across my very favorite animal in the world....the penguin.  Aha!!!!  This was a match made in heaven for me!  I combined a little watercolor and markers with blender pen to create this little guy from {Zoo Review}.  I even used a little Lost Lagoon on his flippers.

I realized after I had created my card that I used Crushed Curry instead of Hello Honey....but it's close!

Another part of the inspiration came from CASEing the Catty.  This week is casing anything from the brand new catalog.

I chose to case the {Wetlands} goose card on page 117 .

I liked the catawampus, bold black striped background paper.

I added a banner cluster in the top corner of the card and a little hello from the new hostess set {Silhouettes & Script}.

Be sure and check out all the other fab designers from the CCMC team!

Thanks for taking a peek!

Penguin Greetings ~ CCMC328 & RS139

Penguins are my very favorite animal in the world and I've been wanting to paper piece this little guy for a long time.  For this card I used the color combo from Create With Connie and Mary 328 and the sketch from Retro Sketches 139.  I just love this sketch! Most people must have because there are a lot of entries there this week!  I had hoped to play along and I'm making my submission just under the wire!

I thought the combo at CCM this week was perfect for my penguin.  I used some fun paper from the Trim The Tree paper stack.  I also incorporated some of the All Is Calm DSP.

Here's a list of my supplies....

Stamps: Zoo Review, Letterpress Winter

Ink: Memento black, Smokey Slate, Cherry Cobbler Blendabilites

Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Smokey Slate, Lost Lagoon, White, All Is Calm & Trim The Tree DSP

Accessories: Adorning Accents die & EF, Northern Flurry EF, Silver 1/4" ribbon, rhinestones

Thanks for taking a peek!

Blue Zoo Review ~ DD53 & PPA

Just one more card for Dynamic Duos 53.   I used the sketch from Pals Paper Arts 159, too.

I have had this zebra embossing folder for over a year and had yet to use it.  I've definitly wanted to try inking the folder with black ink then running it through the Big Shot.  I think it turned out cool and looks really good with Pacific Point.  I kinda purchased the Zoo Review set just because I had these animal print folders (I have a couple other textures too) and figured they would coordinate.  I also used a couple ticket stamps to carry over the zoo theme.  A litte corduroy button adds another element of texture.

Here's a list of supplies....

Stamps: Zoo Review, That's the Ticket

Paper: Pacific Point, Black, White

Ink: Pacific Point, Black

Accessories: Pacific Point corduroy button, Black grosgrain ribbon, Ticket punch, Lattice border punch, Zebra print EF, bakers twine

Thanks for taking a peek!
