Colour Inkspiration Guest Designer ~ CI198

Hello!  Today's card is for Colour Inkspiration Challenge #198 and I have the privilege of being a guest designer.  The colors we were challenged to used are Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, Real Red, and Very Vanilla.  I added in some Gray Granite as a neutral.

I was drawn to use the new set Delicate Pines to showcase these colors.  The focal "flower" is one of the pine branch snowflake stamps from the set.  I embossed two images in white EP on vanilla and dabbed on some Real Red Ink to enhance the center of the "flower" and layered them over the top of each other to create it.   The vanilla die cut leaves (Delicate Pines) are splattered with black ink and some are brushed with Real Red, and the Pool Party pine boughs are brushed with a little Pool Party ink. The foliage with the heart shaped leaves are from the Golden Greenery die set and are cut from Coastal Cabana dsp. Some of the Greenery and the tips of the flower, as well as the holly berries have some ice glitter sprinkled on them.
The Very Vanilla background was stamped with Elements of Text script and Pool Party snowflakes from Snowy Delights. I splattered some black ink and blended Gray Granite ink around the edges.
I finished off the card with a Christmas Labels sentiment stamped in Real Red.

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: Snowy Delights, Delicate Pines, Christmas Labels, and Elements of Text
Ink: Pool Party, Real Red, Gray Granite and dark black blends for splatters.
Paper: Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, Real Red, Need for Tweed DSP, Dandy Designs DSP.
Accessories: Ice Glitter, Fine Art Ribbon, Christmas Labels die, Delicate Pines dies, Golden Greenery die.

Ink Blend Background Just For You ~ CI197, JAI771

Hello stampers!  Today's card is for Colour Inkspiration color challenge #197.  I did a bunch of ink blending on this one for an interesting background.  I really do love the look of ink blending and I also love to brush extra ink on my diecuts for more dimension.  I have substituted Secret Sea for the Night of Navy color on my card.  This card uses a mix of  dies from last years Changing Leaves set and this years Label Me Grateful.  I think they work together nicely.  Because of these two sets, I'm playing along with Just Add Ink #771 and I chose Plants and Pretties. My leaves are the plants and the flowers and bling are the pretties!
I also used some stamps from Elements of Text set.  The scripty words and splatter stamps make the background more interesting, I think.

Fall Flower Congrats ~ HSS474

Hello!  Today's card is for Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge #474.  I was inspired by the colors of the pumpkins.  I needed another wedding card, so that's the direction I went with these colors.  I like that this can feel like fall without all the fall-type leaves and such.

My card uses the Charming Day stamp set and dies.  I also used the "branch-y" die from the Changing Leaves set.  I went with a combination of embossing folders for the background, opting to use a different one for each of the layers.  The vanilla layer is embossed with Garden and Glass.  The Peach Pie layer is Distressed Tile.  I brushed some Cajun Craze ink over the Distressed Tile to bring out the embossing.  The main image flowers were colored with Cajun Craze and light Pumpkin Pie Blends.  The leaves were colored with Mossy Meadow Blends.  After it was all colored, I used my blending brush and brushed on some in to dull the brightness of the white after die-cutting.  I arranged different leaf and branch die cuts.  The lighter leaves are cut from Soft Seafoam CS and brushed with Mossy Meadow ink.  I also cut some Mossy Meadow CS leaves, which I also brush with the same ink.  The Cajun Craze foliage was cut from Very Vanilla CS and brushed with Cajun Craze ink.  I added a large Gold Twisted Twine bow underneath everything before I started placing and gluing my main image pieces.
The sentiment is from Charming Sentiments stamp set and die bundle.  I layered on a torn peice of Peach Pie double sided CS mounted on Cajun Craze CS.  I also added a little strip on Gold Foil CS to the bottom to tie into all the gold accents. Speaking of gold accents, I thought the gold Heart Sequins would be a good finishing element to this lovely wedding card.  After all, a wedding is all about love!

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: Charming Day, Charming Sentiements
Paper: Cajun Craze, Peach Pie, Very Vanilla, Mossy Meadow, Gold Foil
Ink: Cajun Craze ink and blends, Light Pumpkin Pie blends, Mossy Meadow ink and blends, Memento
Accessories: Garden & Glass and Distressed Tile EF, Gold Twisted Thread, Heart Sequins, Changing Leaves dies, Charming day dies

Delicate Pine Edge ~ HSS473, CI196, TO298

Hello!  Today's card is for Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch challenge #473.  I also used the color challenge of Shy Shamrock, Summer Splash, Gray Granite, and Early Espresso from Colour Inkspiration #196.  I'm also playing along with Time Out Challenges #298.  I chose to use the words "Season" and "Edge".
My card today uses the new set Delicate Pines.  I knew I'd love this set as soon as I saw it in the seasonal catalog.  I love snowflakes and I also love pine boughs, so this set is perfect!  I thought the Need For Tweed DSP would go nicely with the warmest winter wishes sentiment.  They both evoke coziness!  I cut two stitched circles, one in Shy Shamrock and one in Summer Splash and then offset the layer to add a little more interest.  I did brush some coordinating ink on the edges with my blending brushes too.  I like the depth it gives! I cut a bunch of foliage with the Delicate Pines dies and tucked it all behind the circles.  The white branches are cut from Seasonal Branches dies.

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: Delicate Pines
Ink: Summer Splash, Shy Shamrock, Gray Granite, Early Espresso, Versamark
Paper: Shy Shamrock, Summer Splash, Gray Granite, Early Espresso, White, Need for Tweed DSP
Accessories: Delicate Pines dies, Seasonal Branches dies, Tinsel gems, White EP

Grateful Watercolor Leaf Trio ~ HSS472, TTTC279

Hello!  Today's card is for Hand Stamped Sentiments new color challenge using Darling Duckling, Timid Tiger, and Pretty Peacock.  These are fall-ish colors, but still fun and bright. I'm also playing along with Tic Tac Toe challenge using Rectangle/Three or more colors/Embossing.
I chose to watercolor the colors onto watercolor paper and then die cut all my elements.  I love the variation of colors you can get by using this technique.  Everything on the main panel of the card is from the Label Me Grateful bundle.  For the background I used the Sunflower 3-D folder, adding texture and a fall feel.  I also added a Z-fold vanilla satin ribbon behind the main panel for a little extra something.  The yellow dot embellishments are from Dots for Days.

Pajama Print Inspired ~ GDP510

Today's card was born out of inspiration of my cute summer pajamas!  I just loved the colors and the leopard on them and couldn't wait to turn it into a card!  I also used the sketch from Global Design Project to help me along.

The actual color of the pajamas is really close to Pretty Peacock...much closer than the inspiration photo shows.  I chose to use my Happy Hibiscus set to mimic the tropical feel of the jammies.  I used a bit of Like An Animal DSP for the backdrop of the florals to bring in the leopard.  I just love this paper and will be sad when I use the last bit of it up.  Leopard print is an absolute favorite of mine.
I colored the hibiscus flowers with blends markers and them cut and embossed them with the folder and die.  I used Pretty In Pink, Strawberry Slush, and Poppy Parade with little bit of Peach Pie, for the flowers, and Mossy Meadow for the leaves.  I also did a lot of ink blending with my blending brushes on the backgrounds and the tips of the Mossy Meadow die cut leaves.
I'm really in love with these rich colors!

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: Happy Hibiscus, Sweet Blooms
Ink: Pretty Peacock, Versamark, Memento Black, Mossy Meadow pads; Pretty in Pink, Strawberry Slush, Poppy Parade, Peach Pie, Mossy Meadow blends.
Paper: Like An Animal DSP, Pretty Peacock, Gold Glimmer, White, Mossy Meadow, Secret Sea

Pastel Purple Sunflower ~ HSS470, CI193, TGIF538, JAI764

Today's card is for our new sketch challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments. I was also able to incorporate some of my other favorite challenges along the way while making this card!  I started out with the color challenge at Colour Inkspiration using Highland Heather, Balmy Blue and Cloud Cover.  I used some DSP from County Woods, so that took in TGIF's product challenge.  Next, I incorporated pearls, pastels, and patterned paper, even though the challenge at Just Add Ink says to choose only two. :)

I really wanted to play with my Sunflower 3-D folder and decided I was gonna have a purple sunflower as my starting point.  I embossed a piece of water color paper, flipped it over to the de-bossed side, and dragged my Balmy Blue ink pad over the whole thing.  I sprayed the entire piece with water and then dabbed off the excess to soften the blue background.  I then used sponge daubers to dab and rub the Highland Heather ink onto the petals of the sunflower.  I did the same with Cloud Cover ink on the leaves and Early Espresso to the center.  (Here's a link to this technique. She demonstrates it about 24 minutes into the video.) After it was all colored, I flicked some water from my water painter onto the image and dabbed it off again to pick up some of the ink for an extra vintage look.  It's very subtle, but if you look close you can see it.  Next I flicked ink from my Early Espresso marker onto the panel.  I antiqued the edges by sponging Cloud Cover around all sides. With the main panel done, I turned to the background pieces.  The base is Cloud Cover, with ink sponged around it for the antique look.  Next is a layer of County Woods DSP.  I roughed up the edges of the paper and tore off the top corner.  I added Highland Heather to the torn corner after I roughed it and sponged it up too. The long panel is a sponged piece of Cloud Cover topped with a layer of Highland Heather that I embossed with my Tasteful Textile folder.  I blended Highland Heather ink over the whole thing, as well as Cloud Cover.  I also added some speckles from Notes of Nature stamp set.  The sentiment and die are from Unbounded Love bundle.  I embossed the word Friend in white EP.  Lastly, I added a few Antique Pearls to finish this card off.

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: Unbounded Love, Notes of Nature
Ink: Balmy Blue, Highland Heather, Cloud Cover, Early Espresso
Paper: Country Woods DSP, Cloud Cover, Highland Heather, Watercolor
Accessories: Sunflower 3D embossing folder, Tasteful Textile EF, Antique Pearls, White EF, Unbounded Love die
