Penguin Playmates Snowman ~ CCMC679

Hello stampers!  It's time for another Create with Connie and Mary Sketch Challenge!  This one is kinda interesting and I'm excited to see what everyone comes up with!
I did very little stamping on this one, in fact the sentiment is the only stamped image.  The snowman, bird and penguin are fussy cut from the Penguin Playmate DSP available in the SAB catalog.  It's such cute paper and the colors are great too!  I used the Just Jade side as well as Misty Moonlight to compliment the snowman on my card.  I finished things off with a few blue gems,

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Mountain Air Peaceful Prints ~ HSS371

Hello stampers!  Today's card is for Hand Stamped Sentiments August sketch challenge.
For this card I started with the Peaceful Prints DSP available in the SAB and used the birch looking pattern as well as the fun red plaid.  I stamped the evergreen trees from Mountain Air in black ink on Garden Green cardstock.  I also cut an evergreen from the Majestic Mountain dies out of the Be Dazzling specialty paper, also available from the SAB.  The trees are decked out with some Fine Art ribbon and I added some gilded gems for a bit more sparkle and to tie the golds together.
The sentiment is from Words of Cheer.

I decorated the inside of the card with another diecut tree from Majestic Mountains, this time in Garden Green and added a slim strip of the red plaid DSP.  I think the inside coordinates so nicely with the outside!

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: Mountain Air, Words of Cheer
Ink: Memento Black
Paper: Peaceful Prints, Be Dazzling, Real Red, Sahara Sand, White
Accessories: Layering Circle dies, Majestic Mountains dies, Rectangle stitched dies, Fine Art ribbon, and Gilded Gems

Guest Designer AYSI257

I'm excited to have been chosen to be a guest designer with As You See It for challenge #257!  The challenge is to use every element in the photo -- wheat or grass, embossing folder, twine, gingham, and Crumb Cake.
I chose to go with the Celebrate Sunflower set for my card and use the white wash technique to color my sunflower after it was stamped on crumb cake cardstock.  I used the Tasteful Textiles embossing folder for my background, Pattern Party DSP for the gingham, the Sunflowers dies to add my wheat/grass, and a linen thread bow for the twine element.

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Today's Plan ~ CCMC677, PP553

Hello stampers!  Today's card is for the newest sketch challenge at Create with Connie and Mary.  I used the color combination from The Paper Players using Real Red, Old Olive, and Daffodil Delight.  I thought the Nothings Better Than set would look cute in these colors and I think I was right!
I diverted from the sketch ever-so-slightly by extending the small vertical panel all the way from the top to the bottom of my card face.  I also extended the skinny horizontal piece in the same way.  I really like the the way it turned out, though!

This was a super fun, simple card to make!

Harvest Celebration ~ HSS370, JUGS596, CTC330

Hello stampers!  Today's card is for Hand Stamped Sentiments August photo inspiration challenge.  I was inspired by the sunflower photo, as well at the word Harvest from Just Us Girls.  I also used the Casing the Catty Sale-A-Bration case challenge.  I cased the card on the right side of the photo.
So, normally if I make a card I don't really like I let it sit overnight and come back for a second look.  Nine times out of ten I will tend to look at the card in a different light and it grows on me.  Not this one.  This one would be the one time the card didn't grow on my overnight.  I think if I took the Pumpkin Pie sprigs out it might be better.  It's just not my favorite.  It's a fine card but not my best work.  Do you ever find it disappointing when you have an idea in your head and it just doesn't' come together like you'd planned?

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Mountain Air Thanks ~ CCMC676

Hello stampers!!!  Today's card is for Create with Connie and Mary's new color challenge.  We are using Petal Pink, Night of Navy, and Soft Succulent.

I'm having a great time playing with the Mountain Air stamp set.  I really love to use softer, more feminine colors.  I love pinks and blues together for this set, too!
For the blue mountains I cut a mountain range out of vellum and colored it with my light and dark night of navy blends and then spritzed it with a bit of rubbing alcohol to blend the colors together.  I did this technique a couple times to get the darker color I wanted.  The Petal Pink mountain range was cut from Pearlescent specialty paper and then colored with Petal Pink blends.  I stamped the tree range in Soft Succulent ink on the same cardstock.  I found a small trick here:  normally I stamp on my cardstock first and then die cut.  With this stamp I found that it was easier to stamp AFTER die cutting.
I cut two trees--one from vellum and one from Pearlescent.  I used the same blends technique only using my Soft Succulent markers.
I cut the frame out of Rectangle Stitched dies in Night of Navy and Vellum.  The background is Petal Pink and I used blending brushes to sponge a little Petal Pink ink behind the mountains.
I finished the card off with some Pale Papaya open weave ribbon and a few Blue Gems.
The sentiment is from Celebrate Sunflowers.  I stamped it on some Pearlescent specialty paper with Stazon ink.

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: Mountain Air, Celebrate Sunflowers
Ink: Stazon, Soft Succulent.  Night of Navy, Petal Pink, and Soft Succulent Blends
Paper: Night of Navy, Soft Succulent, Petal Pink, Vellum, Pearlescent specialty
Accessories: Majestic Mountains dies, Rectangle Stitched dies, blue gems, Pale Papaya ribbon
