Best Mother Penned and Painted ~ CCMC455, JUGS390

Hey there stampers!  Welcome to my blog featuring this weeks Create with Connie and Mary sketch challenge!  I also used the inspiration photo from Just Us Girls #390.  I was mostly inspired by the colors.

Mothers Day is quickly approaching and I thought this card was certainly pretty enough to fit into that theme....I mean, what mother doesn't like pretty flowers?
I lightly stamped the outline flower image vertically down the left side of the card to fit the vertical strip from the sketch.  I also used a piece of the Irresistibly Floral Specialty paper, sponged it with Smokey Slate ink and then layered the flowers, stamped with Melon Mambo ink on top.  I think the diamond pattern on the specialty paper sort of looks like a trellis.
Lastly, I stamped the "best mother ever" greeting from {And Many More} in Basic Gray ink and then added some white enamel dots.

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: Penned and Painted, And Many More
Ink: Smokey Slate, Basic Gray, Cucumber Crush, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight
Paper: White, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Irresistibly Floral Specialty
Accessories: White perfect accents

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Happiness Always Sheltering Tree ~ CCMC454, WWC115

Hello stampers and happy Thursday!  That means it's time for another Create with Connie and Mary Challenge!  What a fun color combo we have too!  I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with using this combo!  I also used the spring theme inspiration from Watercooler Wednesday for my card.

This was actually the third card I created for this color combo....I love these three colors and felt like the other two cards I made just didn't do them justice.  :(

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Birthday Blossom in Saffron and Watermelon ~ HSS262, SR367

Hello stampers!  It's time for another Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge!  This time we have a sketch for your inspiration.  I also used the colors from Stampin' Royalty color challenge #367 to help me with my DT card.
I used my brand new Birthday Blossoms stamp set.  I know that this set has been around for quite some time, but I've just only recently gotten around to buying it!  I've always admired cards made with this set.  I decided to do a watercolor design with Watermelon Wonder and So Saffron.  I colored the leaves with Wild Wasabi and Always Artichoke.  I find it so soothing to watercolor and I love the effect you can achieve by layering on the color.

I also used a new my brand new set of stitched framelits.  Like the stamp set, I had admired many a card that featured the stitched dies.  I really like the extra umph it adds to the shape.

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Urban Special Reason ~ CCMC453, SIP94

Hello stampers!  It's time for another Create with Connie and Mary challenge and this week we've got a sketch.  I also used some inspiration from Stamp Ink Paper which features one of my favorite kinds of challenges....tic-tac-toe!  I chose to go straight across the top with Pink, Flower, and Lace.

I knew I wanted to use black and white with a pop of pink so I went with the distressed looking Urban Underground DSP that goes nicely with the distressed look of these pretty flowers from {Special Reason}. For the flowers I inked them up in Flirty Flamingo and then used a Melon Mambo inked sponge dauber to sponge the darker ink directly onto the stamp before applying it to the cardstock.  I did the same thing with the leaves, inking them up with Pear Pizzazz and then added Emerald Envy to the bottoms with a sponge dauber.  I like the subtle color change it produced!
After die cutting the images with the coordinating dies I mounted them to my base, popping the little flower up with dimensionals.  I added the silver rimmed pearls to the center of each flower for a bit more pizzazz.
A bit of lace trim and black banner finish off my card.

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: Special Reason
Ink: Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo, Pear Pizzazz, Emerald Envy, White craft
Paper: Urban Underground DSP, Very Vanilla, Flirty Flamingo, Black
Accessories: metal rimmed pearl, lace trim, white embossing powder

Butterfly of Hope ~ CCMC452

Hey stampers!  Welcome to my blog featuring this week's Create with Connie and Mary color challenge!  This week's colors are so pretty!
The card I created looks simple but there were actually many steps that went into it.
First, I cut out two butterflies using the Bold Butterfly Framelits and Butterflies Thinlits.  I cut the solid butterfly with white cardstock and sponged on So Saffron and Peek-a-boo Peach to cover it.  Next inked the whole thing up with Versamark, spinkled some heat and stick powder over it and embossed.  While the heat and stick powder was still sticky I sprinkled on some Dazzling Diamonds glitter.  It's super sparkly!!!!
Next I cut the top butterfly with Sahara Sand cardstock.  I applied a layer of the fine tip glue to the butterfly and set it aside to dry before adhering it over the top of the sparkle butterfly.
I cut out the hope words from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits---once in white and once in Peek a boo Peach.  I also applied the heat and stick powder and Dazzling Diamonds to the white hope.  For the background I sponged So Saffron to a piece of Irresistibly Floral Specialty paper and then added a strip of peekaboo peach stamped with Delicate Details lace.  After everything was mounted to some Sahara Sand card base, I added the details including some linen thread and pearls.

Thanks for taking a peek and I hope to see you playing along with us this week!

Pool Feather Funky Chick! ~ HSS261

Happy Tuesday stampers!  Hand Stamped Sentiments is bringing you another fabulous challenge....and remember, they go for two weeks!
Our color challenge features Pool Party, Calypso Coral, and Smokey Slate.

I chose to go with this funky little chicken from the latest sale-a-bration catalog.  The chicks in this set are super cute and I thought this hen would look fun with blue top feathers!  I watercolored her on a piece of shimmer white cardstock and then added some wink of stella to her blue feathers.  I layered her on a fun flowered background piece of DSP and added in a couple slivers of Calypso Coral.  I Wink Of Stella'd some of the flowers in the background paper as well.

This card is simple but I love it!  That chick is surely the star of the show!
