Rainbow Penguins ~ Merry Monday 173

How fun is this challenge for Merry Monday#173!  It really made me think outside the box!  One doesn't usually thing rainbow when thinking about Christmas.

I love penguins, of course, and I just dug through my OLD stash of stamps and pulled out a few from way back when.....this was one of them.  I bet I purchased it in 1997.  It's called Three Penguins and it's made by Hero Arts.
I stamped the image twice, using my Stamp-a-ma-jig and colored the feet and beaks of the penguins orange.  Next I colored the body of each penguin using my alcohol ink markers.  I also added some Dazzling Details to the snow and snowflakes around the penguins.
The sentiment is from {Happy Scenes}.
I added the main panel to a piece of Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper after snipping each left hand corner with the corner rounder punch.  Lastly, I added some white string.
I also stamped a few snowflakes from {Flurry of Wishes} on scrap white, embossed them with Irridescent Ice and punched them out with the Snow Flurry punch.  I scattered them around the background after running it through the Big Shot with the Softly Falling EF.

Here's a list of all my supplies....

Hey stampers!  I've created this fun guy for The Challenge #44 photo inspiration challenge over at Lesley Croghan's blog Always Playing with Paper.

The sentiment is from a set from last spring's occasions catalog called {From The Herd}.

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: From the Herd
Ink: Black
Paper: Pacific Point, Gumball Green, Tangerine Tango, Crushed Curry, White, Black

All Is Bright! ~ CCMC374

Hey!  It's Create With Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge time again!  We have a trio of terrific colors for you this week.  Perfect for a monochromatic look, or ombre!

I was trying to go the ombre route and sponged my colors on a piece of whisper white cardstock....lightest to darkest from top to bottom.  I haven't done the fun Bokeh technique for a while either, so I though that in there.  I then stamped the neat cluster of black trees from
 {Wonderland} in the Holiday Catalog.

I added some White Glitter ribbon, "all is calm sentiment" and Blushing Bride sequin trim, as well as some scattered white sequins in the sky.

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: Wonderland
Ink: Watermelon Wonder, Calypso Coral, Blushing Bride, Black, Craft White
Paper: Blushing Bride, Watermelon Wonder, White
Accessories: White glitter ribbon, Blushing Bride sequin trim, Metallic sequins

Patterned Paper Woodland ~ The Card Concept 40 & FMS205

Happy Wednesday fellow stampers! I designed this card with The Card Concept #40 and Freshly Made Sketches #205 in mind.

I suppose my card falls into the clean and layered category over at the Card Concept and I was totally inspired by the cute little woodland animals.  In fact I love these little critters so that  if I get time I'm going to try to play along again!

It kinda took a direction entirely different than I had originally planned.  The paper pieced trees and hedgehog were in my original design in my head, and then I saw a scrap of polka dotted blue laying on my desk and thought it might look good as the sky.  From there on it was patterned paper-palooza!  The interpretation of the sketch is a little loose, but I like it that way!

I think this little mushroom is probably my favorite thing on this card....it's so cute!  I colored in the white dots with my white gel pen.

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: Life in The Forest, Sprinkles of Life
Ink: Black, Crumb Cake
Paper: Various retired DSP's, Crumb Cake, White
Accessories: Hearth and Home Framelits, Bird Builder punch, circle punch, Linen thread

A Little Foxy ~ HSS221 & PP263

Hey everyone!  It's time for another Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge!  Yay!  Challenge #221 is a sketch chosen by Ange.

I'm also entering this card in The Paper Players 263 - Fall scene.

I started this card off with by inking the Woodland EF with my brayer and Early Espresso ink.  Here's a link with pictures of this technique.  It adds such depth to the background.
I colored the fox image from  {The Wilderness Awaits} with my blender pen and ink pads and cut it out with my oval framelits. Burlap and Early Espresso ribbon provide a nice background banners to mimic those in the sketch.
The little acorn is from last year's holiday catalog, but there are some neat, similar wooden leaf and acorn embellishments in this years catalog too!  I swiped this one with Early Espresso and Baked Brown Sugar ink before attaching it to the card.

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: The wilderness awaits
Ink: Tangerine Tango, Really Rust, Garden Green, Early Espresso, Baked Brown Sugar
Paper: Early Espresso, Garden Green, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Autumn Wooden Elements, Linen Thread, Burlap ribbon, Early Espresso seam binding, Woodland EF, Oval Framelits, dimensionals

Love & Joy Swing Card ~ Merry Monday 171

Hello!  I'm finally getting around to playing with Merry Monday again, which I love!  It seems like I have a little more time now to play around with more challenges....yay!!!
Merry Monday 171 asks to make the main focal part of your card the sentiment.  Right away I thought of a single stamp that came out last year called {Love and Joy}.  I really love it!  I've also never done a swing card, so I took this opportunity to make one.

I used the new Winter Wonderland Designer Specialty Paper for the front of the card, as well as a retired die called Stocking Accents.  For the sentiment, I inked it up in VersaMark, embossed it with Heat and Stick powder and then sprinkled it with red glitter.
The other sentiments on the card are from {Flurry of Wishes}, new in this year's holiday catalog.

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Sparkly Winter Sky ~ FM224

Hey friends! Today's card is all about sparkle....and who doesn't LOVE sparkle?  I sure do!  The more sparkle the better is my motto!  LOL!  If you took a look at my closet you would confirm this to be true!
The Friday Mashup is all about glitter this week.  The challenge was to create a 3-D bag or project or something with glitter or mash the two up!  I chose to just go with a card and not a 3-D project.  I was browsing on Pinterest (which is another thing I love) and came across a really cool card using the Sleigh Ride Edgelits, made by Anna Smith.  She even has a great video showing how to do the technique.  Check it out!  Anyway, my card is based on hers.  Thanks for the inspiration Anna!

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: none
Paper: watercolor, White, Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper, Blackberry Bliss, Perfect Plum
Ink: Blackberry Bliss, Perfect Plum, Blushing Bride
Accessories: Sleigh Ride Edgelits, Blackberry Bliss ribbon, Dazzling Diamonds glitter

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Whalecome! ~ JAI279 & The Challenge 42

Hello!  Today I'm playing along with the sketch from Just Add Ink #279 and the color challenge from The Challenge #42.

JAI #279

The pink whale had been laying around my desk for a few weeks as well at the white Deco Label frame.  When I saw the color combo at The Challenge thought I could make these discarded items work for me!
I made the waves with the new Sleigh Ride Edgelits and just trimed off the little houses and litlle trees.  I also added some Dazzling Details to the edges of the "waves" and also to the whale's spray.

Here's a list of supplies I used....
Stamps: Oh, Whale
Ink: Pink Pirouette
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, Real Red, White
Accessories: Happy Whale Clearlits die, Cloudy Day EF, Deco Labels die, Dazzling Details, Happy Heart EF, Cherry Cobbler bakers twine

Fall Frolicking Dog ~ CCMC372 & The Challenge 41

Hello!  It's another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!  This week's color combo is really cool!  The only problem with my card is I used Daffodil Delight instead of So Saffron.  For some reason I had it in my head that the lightest color was Daffodil Delight.....maybe I got mixed up on the word delightful.....Delightful Dijon.  I don't know.  Anyway, one of my shades of yellow is just a bit off.

I also used the sketch from The Challenge #41.

I thought it would be fun to create a fallish night scene with these colors and the new Sleigh Ride Egdelits dies and {Jingle All the Way}.  I love the playful dog image that looks like it's frolicking along the hills!   The Woodland EF provides and extra fall feel for the background.

Make sure you hop on over the CCMC and check out all the other fabulous creations by the others on the DT!
Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Beach Window ~ HSS220

Hey all!  Today marks my second post as a Hand Stamped Sentiments designer!  Challenge #220 is a cool color comb.
I always think sunset and water when I see these colors together, so that's the direction I went!
I searched Pinterest for some beach wood images and came across a picture with different colored, weathered planks, so that's what I tried to re-create here with the background.  After looking at it a little closer, I wish I'd have added at least one more pool party plank to even it out a bit, but oh well!

The Hearth and Home die has endless possibilities.  You could put just about any scene behind it that you want!  I've seen some great samples floating around out there in blogland!
For embellishments I took a few strands from the burlap ribbon and tied them together in a knot.  The Starfish are from my {Sea Street} set and the "happy birthday" senitment is from {Cottage Greetings}.  It's probably my new favorite birthday stamp....I just love the font.

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Frosty Flurry ~ CCMC371

Hello!  Well, Thursday has rolled around again and we've got another fun sketch for you over at Create with Connie and Mary!
Take a look.....
The possibilites are endless!  Make sure you hop over to the challenge site and see all the wonderful samples the design team has come up with.

I'm having such fun playing with all the new goodies from the Holiday Catalog, which is live now!  There are so many fun products in there....it was really hard to narrow down my list when ordering!
For this card I used {Flurry of Wishes} stamp set and the coordinating Snow Flurry punch.
For the background I first ran a piece of white cardstock through my big shot with the new Softly Falling embossing folder.  Typically I would used the embossed side, but this time I flipped the paper over and sponged on the debossed side, which allows the "snow" to stay white.  I sponged with Perfect Plum and Soft Sky ink.  I love this color combination on wintery cards!
The sentiment comes from {Flurry of Wishes} as well.
Lastly, I added some rhinestones to the center of each snowflake and tied some Silver Cord around the end of the card.

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!
