Cool Penguin Friend ~ CCMC696

Hey there stampers!  Today's card is for Create with Connie and Mary and our first challnege back after the holidays. This is a color challenge worthy of a great new year's card!  I however chose to go with a fun little birthday card for a cool friend!  I love this little penguin and am thrilled Stampin' Up has chosen to keep him on for a while longer!  Penguins are my favorite animal and have been for years, so every time they come out with a penguin stamp I'm all over it!  I loved this one because he wasn't only a Christmas stamp, but there was plenty of other ways to use him in the set, too.  I really love the birthday sentiment they paired with this guy.....to the coolest friend ever....how perfect and so clever!
Anyway, I thought he was perfect to be done up in these dapper colors of black, white, and silver.  So fun!

Thanks for taking a peek and Happy New Year everyone!!!

Tweets of Graditude

Hello stampers! Today's card is for Create with Connie and Mary and the last sketch challenge for the year! I wanted to use up some of the product from the last mini catalog before they retire....namely the cork paper. I really like the feel of this specialty paper and love the texture it adds to a card. I thought it would go nicely with a nature theme and when I saw the bird image from Inspired By, well, I was inspired!!
I kept my birdie in the brownish tones to go with the cork.

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Sparkle of the Season ~ HSS379

Hello Stampers!  Today's card is  for Hand Stamped Sentiments photo inspiration challenge for December.  We have four great images for you to take inspiration from.  I drew from the bottom left photo.  I was drawn to the simplicity of the package with a bit of gold and greenery.
I wanted to add a bit of sparkle to mine and used the retired glitzy gold paper that retired with the last Sale-a-bration.  I really wish they'd bring this paper back because it is really so much fun!

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Snowflake Sweater Weather ~ CCMC694, PP570

Hello stampers!  Today's card is for Create with Connie and Mary and this week we have a really fun challenge for you....you get to choose you own color combination!  Your favorite Christmas Combo.  I really couldn't narrow it down to just one favorite combo.  I love classic red and green, but I also love the blues that show off snowflakes and nature.  That's what I went with, plus, I wanted to showcase the Knit Together dies one more time before they retire.  I thought this was a really fun set.
My colors are Bashful Blue, Night of Navy, and Real Red.  I added in some Crumb Cake in there as a neutral as well.
The Paper Players theme challenge lent itself well to my colors.  I was inspired by the mittens and snowflake, plus the deer.

Pocket Sketch ~ CCMC693

Hello stampers!  Today's card comes from Create with Connie and Mary's new sketch for the week.  I call this the "pocket sketch" because that's what the shape reminds me of....the back pocket of a pair of jeans.
I had this image from the Words of Cheer set already colored a laying on my desk. I did it for Monday's HSS challenge and then realized I colored with Cherry Cobbler instead of Merry Merlot.  I loved the way the coloring turned out on this one and couldn't let it go to waste, so it was used on this project!
I stamped the "pocket" with the Knit Together background stamp, which I love dearly.  I think it adds such a cozy feel.  For the base I inked up my blending brush with Soft Succulent ink and brushed it on the Soft Succulent base in a gradient fashion.  I think it gives the plain background a little pizzazz without being too much.  Some silver cord and a few rhinestones complete my card.

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!
