Tropical Flamingo ~ CCMC421, FF94

Hello everyone!  It's time for another Create with Connie and Mary challenge!  This week is sketch week....
I also used a color combination from Fab Friday #94.  We could use any combination of the colors.  I chose Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo and Emerald Envy.

I went with a tropical theme and used the Botanical Builder Framelits.  I also stamped a flamingo from a retired set called {Flamingo Lingo}. There is a flamingo image in the current catalog with a stamp set called {Pop of Paradise}.  I don't own that one, so I used my old one.
I sponged Peekaboo Peach onto the punched circles and also sponged it onto the Irresistibly Floral specialty DSP.  It kinda reminded me of a pineapple, which keeps with the tropical theme.
I added a bit of sparkle with the rhinestones and horizontal strip.

I hope you'll join us this week!  Make sure you visit the CCMC home page and check out all the wonderful cards from the design team!
Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Wildlife and Woods ~ HSS245

Hello stampers!  It's time again for another Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge!  This go around we've got a Wildlife/Woodland Inspiration challenge for you!

I chose to use an old, old set called {Noble Deer} that I've had for ages.  In fact, I think the year on the stamp said 2004!  I've kept this one in my stash because I've always loved the images and you never know when you might need something like this for masculine cards.  Anyway, I'm glad I've kept it around!
I stamped it in Stazon ink on watercolor paper and watercolored with my aqua pen and ink pads.  I like the way it came out kinda textured....that was not on purpose, by the way!
I added a strip of Garden Green, layered on Soft Suede, stamped with the line of trees that comes with the set.  On the Crumb Cake base, I stamped the trio of trees from last year's holiday catalog set {Wonderland}.  I embossed them in white and then sponged some crumb cake ink over the top and around the edges of the base.
Lastly, I added some linen thread and a gold metal button.  I guess all of these products are retired now except for the linen thread and cardstock colors.

We hope to have you play along with us at HSS!
Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Swirls, Stripes and Petals ~ CCMC420, TSOT282

Happy Thursday Stampers!  It's color challenge week at Create with Connie and Mary!
These are the yummy colors this time
I think they were inspired by the colors in A Little Foxy designer series paper stack.  I thought abut doing another cute fox with these colors, but figured that might be expected......... although would be super adorable! Now that I think more about it, a baby card using the fox would have been awesome.  Hmmmm, maybe I'll have to do that anyway....I seem to be talking myself into it!
So, back to the card I actually ended up with.... I searched for some inspiration and came across this card made by Melissa Davies
I CASE'd her card and added a few touches of my own.  I like the way it turned out!  It also happens to fit into the sketch for Try Stampin' on Tuesday #282!  Yay!

I hope you can join us for this weeks challenge!

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: Swirly Bird, Brushstrokes
Paper: White, Silver Glimmer
Ink: Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Smokey Slate
Accessories: Rhinestones, Silver Sequins, Silver cord, Petal Burst EF, Paper doilies, Treat Bag Thinlits

Au Natural ~ CCMC419

Hello and happy Thursday stampers!  It's sketch week at Create with Connie and Mary and we've got another interesting one for you!  I kinda like the ones that challenge me and really make me think.  This one did just that.
I wanted to play around with the sketch and use a stamped image in place of the stacked paper element.
I had yet to use my new set {Thoughtful Branches} and thought the little grouping of trees kinda mimicked the sketch.
I decided I kinda liked the simple, natural feel of the card.  Would anyone believe this was a card I made?  I'm not sure.  This is totally not my usual style.  In fact I did try to add a few more accessories, but in the end kept it plain.

I couldn't help but add a pop of color in the little birdie.  I stamped it in Dapper Denim and then cut it out with the coordinating die.

Come join us at CCMC this week!  You've just got to take a look at the samples the other designers have come up with....lots of great inspiration!  I look forward to seeing everyone's creations in the gallery!

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Sugar Fox ~ CCMC418, WWYS75, PP306, SSC132

Well, well, well it's Thursday once again!  This card takes in 4, yes FOUR, challenges!  Whoo Hoo!  How fun is that!
First and foremost is our Create with Connie and Mary color challenge #418, which was the reason I was searching for inspiration in the first place.  I decided I wanted to use my {Foxy Friends} stamp set with these colors and make a Sweet Sugarplum fox.  I kinda like it when these sort of sets are used with nontraditional colors.....like who would ever expect a light purple/pink fox!  And then the stars aligned and in my inspiration search I came across What Will You Stamp #75 which challenges us to use the Foxy Friends set.  Over at The Paper Players this week was a tic-tac-toe challenge, and some of you may know that I'm a lover of the tic-tac-toe challenges.  I chose to use texture, a scene, and diecuts.  And, why not incorporate a sketch too!  As luck would have it Sunday Stamps Challenge had a perfect match for me!
I love it when it all comes together!

Of course with these colors she has to be a girl fox so I placed a flower on her head.

We would love for you to join us over at Create with Connie and Mary this week!  I'm excited to see what everyone does with these colors....traditional and nontraditional!

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: Foxy Friends
Ink: Mint Macaron, Sweet Sugarplum, Rich Razzleberry, Crumb Cake
Paper: White, Mint Macaron, Rich Razzleberry
Accessories: Fox Builder punch, Woodland EF, Linen Thread, Beautiful Branches thinlits, Oval Framelits, Tree builder punch, Rhinestone

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!
