Berry Bright Butterfly ~ CCMC563, GDP191, SIP200, TSOT410

Hello stampers!  Today's card is my design team card for Create with Connie and Mary using the bright combo of Berry Burst, Pumpkin Pie and Bermuda Bay.  I also used the butterfly inspiration from Global Design Project, the sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesday, and I'm also entering Stamp Ink Papers designer's choice challenge.  I love this big, bold butterfly and have so much fun coloring it in each time!  

I embossed the butter fly in white on watercolor paper, watercolored with my ink pads and aqua painter, and fussy cut it out.  I layered it on a circle of Berry Burst, and then on a pearlized doily....I actually used the the opposite side, the plain white side.  

I love the polka dot DSP from the color family packs and used the Bermuda Bay here.  The Berry Burst card base seemed a little too much, so I toned it down with a piece of vellum.  Vellum can be tricky to work with since you can see adhesive through it.  I added a little bit of white thread to help keep the top and bottom tacked down, since I couldn't use adhesive on those parts!  Lastly, I added in some iridescent sequins to tie in the Pumpkin Pie accents on the butterfly.

Flirty Lovely Needlepoint ~ CCMC545, TSOT392, SUOC215, CTC212

Hello Stampers!  Today's card is for Create with Connie and Mary's new color challenge of Crumb Cake, Flirty Flamingo, and Lovely Lipstick.  I thought these colors would go nicely with my new Occasion Catalog set called Needle and Thread and coordinating Needlepoint Elements dies.  

I followed the sketch from Try Stampin' On Tuesday sketch #392, and also CASEd the yellow cupcake card on Page 6 of the Sale-a-bration catalog for CASEing the Catty challenge #212. Since I made this a birthday card I'm also entering into SUOC #215: Birthdays.

Merry Little Christmas Wreath ~ CCMC528

Hello stampers!  Today's card is for Create with Connie and Mary sketch challenge #528.  I opted for a Christmas card using my new Peaceful Noel set along with the handy dandy Stamparatus.  I absolutely love making wreaths using the Stamparatus and this set is perfect for that.  Here's a video showing how to make a wreath using the Stamparatus and a jig.  It's so much fun!  

I also adore these colors together for Christmas.  They are so rich.  Another couple faves on this card are the Buffalo Check background stamp and the Tin Tile TIEF.  There are just SO MANY awesome new products in the Holiday Catalog!  

Another fun accessory on this card is shimmer spritz, although it doesn't show in any of the pictures.  I spritzed the Crumb Cake card base with a Champagne Shimmer paint and alcohol mixture, as well as the wreath die cut too.  I added another bit of sparkle with the Joyous Noel Glimmer Paper punched with my Decorative Ribbon Border punch.

I'm using the Tic-Tac-Tuesday #5 Challenge from Try Stampin on Tuesday going diagonal with Green, Die Cut, and Dimension.  My die cut circle is popped up on dimensionals, as well as the "Merry Little Christmas" banner.  I think the Tin Tile TIEF give some nice dimension as well.

Happy Remarkable You ~ CCMC487, TSOT351

Happy Thursday everyone!  It's Create with Connie and Mary Challenge time again!  We've got a rich, bright color challenge for you this week.  I'm in such a Christmas mode that it was hard for me to break away from making Christmas cards!  I just love this time of year.  Christmas cards are my favorite to create.  Anyway, I decided I wanted to play around with my Blends markers again, so I chose a big flower from Remarkable You.  Since I stamped it with the Black Memento ink, I decided to add some black cardstock in there as well. I also added a touch of gold in there for added elegance. 

To help me along with my design team card this week I opted to use the sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesday #351.  It's been quite a while since I played along with that challenge so I'm happy to join up again!

Swirls, Stripes and Petals ~ CCMC420, TSOT282

Happy Thursday Stampers!  It's color challenge week at Create with Connie and Mary!

These are the yummy colors this time

I think they were inspired by the colors in A Little Foxy designer series paper stack.  I thought abut doing another cute fox with these colors, but figured that might be expected......... although would be super adorable! Now that I think more about it, a baby card using the fox would have been awesome.  Hmmmm, maybe I'll have to do that anyway....I seem to be talking myself into it!

So, back to the card I actually ended up with.... I searched for some inspiration and came across this card made by Melissa Davies. 

I CASE'd her card and added a few touches of my own.  I like the way it turned out!  It also happens to fit into the sketch for Try Stampin' on Tuesday #282!  Yay!

No Line Orange Flower ~ CCMC414 & TSOT278

Thursday!!!  Create with Connie and Mary!!! Yay!!!!!

We have a neat color combo for you to work your magic with this week!  I also chose to use the sketch from Try Stampin' On Tuesday #278.

Well, I just can't seem to stop watercoloring!  I tried to use my markers with this image first, but it just wasn't working out the way I wanted it to, so back to the good old aqua painter and ink pads!  I also used the no line watercolor technique again.  I like the look that it achieves.  I do have to say that this is not my best work ever, but oh well!    

I did mix in a couple of neutrals on my card as well.  I used Sahara Sand and Early Espresso.

Hello World ~ CCMC400, JUGS336, The Challenge 66, TSOT264

Hey stampers!  It's Thursday again and that means another Create with Connie and Mary Challenge!  

It's color week....here are our colors.....

I also used the inspiration from Just Us Girls #336 and The Challenge #66 and the sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesday #264.

The colors in the JUGS photo were similar to our colors and I took inspiration in the weathered wood posts and water theme.  I used the wood DSP from my much loved Farmers Market pack.  In The Challenge #66 photo I drew  inspiration from the wooden anchor and the sailing ship, which ties into {The Open Sea} set that I used.  The Challenge #66 is also a masculine challenge....I think my card is pretty masculine. 

I did a lot of sponging on this card.  In fact, just about every single piece of cardstock I used is sponged...except for the black "hello".  I sponged around the edges of the wood DSP with Sahara Sand and Crumb Cake and then added some light streaks of Delightful Dijon and Lost Lagoon to add to the weathered wood look and tie in the colors.

 I stamped the globe and anchor in stazon ink and colored them with my blender pens and ink pads.  I cut each out by hand and sponged each with Sahara Sand ink.  The globe is layered on two die cut Delightful Dijon sponged circles.

I stamped the ledger stamp from {The Open Sea} with Early Espresso ink onto the Lost Lagoon strip.  I sponged the edges of it with Crumb Cake ink.

I tied the anchor on with some Linen Thread which I layered between the two Dijon circles.

No-Line Blended Bloom ~ CCMC396 & TSOT260

Hey everyone!  It's Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge time again!  We've got an elegant color trio for you to try.  Cajun Craze, Hello Honey, and Basic Black.  This combo is the perfect time to use some of the subtle prints from Botanical Gardens DSP.  They play perfectly together!  

I also used the sketch from Try Stampin on Tuesday 260.

I love to try new techniques and for this challenge my starting off point was this no-line watercolored {Blended Bloom}.  No-line watercoloring is super simple.  All you do is stamp the image in a light color (I used Sahara Sand) and watercolor as usual.  The lines in the stamp seem to disappear into the watercolor ink.  I really love this look.  I used watercolor paper, my aqua painter pen, and the ink smooshed into the lid of my stamp pads.  I tried to use some black, Stampin' Up's black ink is archival, to it didn't work at all to watercolor with.  I ended up taking some ink off my black marker to color in the leaves, which are from {Birthday Blossoms}.  The sentiment is from that same set too. The leaves ended up coming out kind of gray, so I added a thin Smokey Slate border to the black and Hello Honey DSP.  

The center of the flower didn't come out exactly how I'd wanted it too, but for my first time trying this technique I didn't think it was too bad.  I'm definitely gonna try it again!  

After I was completely done with my flower, I cut it out, bent the edges up to give it some extra dimension and popped it up on dimensionals.

Water Stained Rose ~ CCMC390 & TSOT254

Good morning stampers!  Here's to another Create with Connie and Mary Challenge!  This week  it's a color challenge using Real Red, Lost Lagoon and Hello Honey.  I must say that our designers have really knocked this one out of the park this week....we've got some great samples and inspiration for you at the CCMC site, so check it out!!!

I also used sketch challenge #254 at Try Stampin On Tuesday.

For this card I started out using the Rose Garden Thinlits and cut out the small rose in Real Red and the leaves from the big rose in Lost Lagoon.  I then traced around the edges of the leaves and rose on white cardstock, fussy cut them out, and sponged on the coordinating color.  After completely  sponging on the colors, I splattered water on the rose and leaves and let them dry.  Then, I adhered the die cuts on top using my two-way glue pen.  

After the die cuts were glued down, I used my clear Wink Of Stella pen to add glimmer to the rose petals and leaves.

I adhered the completed rose and leaves to a piece of white cardstock with a bit of Botanical Gardens Designer vellum layered over the top.  I secured the vellum down with gold brads in each corner.

I added a beautiful sentiment from {Rose Wonder} using black Stazon ink.  The whole thing was mounted on a base of 100 lb weight thick white cardsock after it was layered with Hello Honey DSP and black borders.  

Have you ever designed a card and then kept looking at it thinking, I could have added this or should have added that.....that's what I think of this card.  I wish there had been some sort of ribbon or twin added, just to take it up one more notch.  This is pretty clean and simple for me and I've never been a clean and simple kind of girl!

Beautiful Blessing Botanical ~ CCMC388 & TSOT252

Hi Stampers!  Today's card is for Create with Connie and Mary's color challenge #388!  I've also thrown in the sketch from Try Stampin' On Tuesday to help me out with my card.

I really DID use Bermuda Bay and Blackberry Bliss but they kinda came out looking like Tempting Turquoise and Rich Razzleberry because of the watercolor technique I used.  

I started with a piece of watercolor paper and spritzed the entire thing with water.  I then washed the colors over the wet paper....trying to add as much color as possible.  You can see that some parts of the flowers are darker then others.  

After the ink dried, I cut the flowers and leaves out with the new Botanical Builder Framelits.  They are so pretty, aren't they??!! I then sponged on the coordinating colors around the edges of the flowers and leaves to give even more depth.  I also added the little black centers to the flowers making sure to curl them up with my fingers.  

The flowers are arranged on a piece of DSP from Botanical Gardens which is available in the new Occasions Catalog.  The white dotted strips are from Wildflower Fields DSP pack, which is in the Sale-a-bration catalog.  

The sentiment comes from another fabulous new set in the Occasions Catalog called {Rose Wonder}.

The flowers were finished off with iced rhinestones and regular rhinestones.

Fabulous For You ~ TSOT111

 

This card is for Try Stampin' on Tuesday Sketch Challenge #111.

This is yet another card that devloped out of scraps on my desk.  The black oval is the negative of a previous project and that's were I started.  I browsed through sketches and thought TSOT111 was a good match!  I stamped the swirl from Everything Eleanor onto a scrap of First Edition DP and layered it under the black frame.  Next, I stamped the flower from Fabulous Florets onto watercolor paper and embossed it with black EP.  I colored the flower using a really fun watercolor bleed technique seen here.  After the image was dry, I cut it out, spayed it with some shimmer mist and placed on the frame with a dimensional.

 

 

For the verticle panel on the card, I wanted to do something other than a standard rectangle so  cut two panels with one of the Adorning Accents dies.  I bent the edges up a little for some extra dimension.  Lastly, I added ribbon, a sentiment banner and some pearls to finish everything up.
