Hello Foxy! ~ CCMC426, PP314

Hello everyone!  It's time for another our weekly Create with Connie and Mary Challenge.  It's color week and this week's trio is Tangerine Tango, Smokey Slate, and Dapper Denim.  I also used the Paper Players sketch #314 to help me along in my design.

Originally I had made an orange fox, a gray raccoon, and a blue skunk out of the Foxy Friends set and coordinating punch, but I just couldn't come up with a design to fit all three character in.  I've set the raccoon and skunk aside and will use them from another project.  I surged ahead with the fox and the inspiration from the Paper Players sketch.  I like what I ended up with.  I think you can use a hello card for lots and lots of things.

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Cozy Flourished Pumpkin ~ CCMC425, CQC360

Hello fellow stampers!  It's time again for another Create with Connie and Mary Challenge.....sketch challenge #425.
I also used the color scheme from Colour Q #360.  Instead of Ruby Red I used the similar color of Watermelon Wonder and instead of Hello Honey I used Delightful Dijon.

I only used two stamps on this card....Hardwood for the background and Timeless Textures for a bit of flourish on the pumpkin.  The rest of the card is put together from dies, embossing folder, and dsp.  I cannot tell you again how much I LOVE the Cable Knit EF.  I absolutely adore it!!!!  In fact, I could probably use it on every single card from now until whenever!  I'm not sure I'd ever get sick of it!  I probably won't do that, but I could!

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: Timeless Textures, Hardwood
Ink: Watermelon Wonder, Pumpkin Pie, Soft Suede, Delightful Dijon, So Saffron, Peekaboo Peach
Paper: Delightful Dijon, Very Vanilla, Soft Suede, Watermelon Wonder, Pumpkin Pie, Gold Glimmer, Warmth and Cheer DSP
Accessories: Oval Framelits, Pretty Pines Thinlits, Metallic Sequins, Cable Knit EF

Hop over to our CCMC blog and take a look at the other amazing cards made by my fellow designers.  You won't be disappointed!!!
We hope you'll find time to play along with us this week!
Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Wrapped In Warmth Shaker ~ HSS247, CYCI138

Hey stampers!  It's time for another Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge!  It's a sketch this time....
I'm also entering in Can You Case It #183...shaker cards!
cyci138

I'm not usually a fan of repeated patterns like this, but I had the idea of doing a shaker card and the little tree from the new holiday set {Wrapped In Warmth} were a perfect fit.  Also, the Warmth and Cheer dsp is a wonderful compliment to the stamp set....in fact they are part of a suite!
I chose to keep the stamping fairly simple and let the shaker and dsp shine.

Come on and play along with us at HSS!  Remember, it's a two week challenge!

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Pine Blessings ~ CCMC424

It's Thursday and that means it's time for another Create With Connie and Mary challenge!  It happens to be color week.  Look at these vibrant, rich colors we have for you to play with!
I had a totally different idea using the {Christmas Pines} and {Pretty Pines Thinlits} as a pineapple. I did make that card (which I'll show at the bottom of the post) and it turned out okay, but man, did I have ink ALL OVER.  I had smears everywhere on my cardstock.  I halfway salvaged it but I did not think it was CCMC post worthy!

After I scrapped the first card I decided to use the die and stamp set the way it was intended and made pine-cones and pine branches.  Plus, I've been itching to use the cable knit sweater EF as well as some of the cozy paper from the warmth and cheer designer paper stack.  I'm so, so, so pleased with the way this card turned out!!!  I can't get enough of the sweater texture!
My card does contain one retired item.....the glimmer brad on the Christmas Blessings banner.  I'm not very current on my embellishments and it needed something, so I pulled out this oldie but a goodie sparkly brad.

Now, onto my discarded card.....

For this card I wanted to make one pineapple that was not like the others.  When it came to the gold pineapples I felt like they were too bright, so I sponged on some Delightful Dijon ink to darken them a bit.  The ink just would not dry on the glimmer paper and it ended up all over my hands.  I tried to salvage the card by adding the Soft Suede speckles to hide the smudges, but they it just didn't work.  I still like the design, I just don't like the smudges.  :(

I hope you find time to play along with us in this weeks challenge at Create with Connie and Mary!

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Goldie Deer Joy ~ CCMC423, Merry Monday #212

Happy Thursday stampers!  It's Create with Connie and Mary time again!  I've combined this week's sketch with the inspiration challenge at Merry Monday 212.

My version of the sketch is mirror flipped....but I'm not sure why.  Maybe it's because I prefer everything to flow from left to right???  Could be.  Anyway, I switched up the sketch just a tad bit!
I've always been a fan of black, gold and white for Christmas, so I was all about the Merry Monday challenge.  I'm also a sucker for deer images, so this cute little reindeer fit the bill nicely.  I just think he is super cute!
I embossed the black strip with the Gently Falling EF and then lightly sponged some white ink over the top to make it look like snow.
For the gold trees I stamped one of the tree images from {Foxy Friends} onto the backside of the gold foil paper and then fussy cut them out.  I added stars punched from Gold Glimmer paper with the confetti star punch.
The whole thing is layered on a white Woodland embossed "forest".

I hope you'll hop over the Create with Connie and Mary and play along with us....and make sure you take inspiration from my fellow designers!

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

I'm Grateful! ~ CCMC422

Hello everyone!  Create with Connie and Mary time again and it's color week!  Isn't this a beautiful combination?!?
I chose to go with {Remarkable You} to showcase these colors.  I absolutely love this stamp set!  It's so much fun to work with!  I stamped the flowers in Stazon ink, masked them off and then stamped the leaves so they look like they are behind the flowers. I watercolored everything after that.  The leaves could be considered kinda fall-ish I guess.  I just love how playful it all looks together.

Thanks for looking and have a blessed day!
