I Care Inspired

I made this for the Ka-Pow Kreative Challenge #09, but missed the cut-off date.....darn it anyway!  I thought long and hard about this card because the color combo was WAY out of my comfort zone.  I guess that is why they are called "challenges"!

However, as this card was emerging, I started to love these colors together!  For the main image, I used the watercolor misting technique.  I inked up the stamp with Regal Rose, Cajun Craze and River Rock and then misted the entire stamp with water before pressing it to the cardstock.  After I embossed the main panel with the Vintage Wallpaper EF, I sponged the raised parts with River Rock, then added Soft Suede around the edges.  I am so pleased with the way this turned out and am so mad at myself for missing the challenge deadline!
Here is the list of supplies I used........
Stamps: Inspired by Nature, Because I Care, French Foliage
Paper: Soft Suede, Cajun Craze, White
Ink: Regal Rose, Cajun Craze, River Rock, Soft Suede
Accessories: Antique brad, Crochet ribbon, Vanilla Seam Binding ribbon, Vintage Wallpaper EF, Scallop Trim Border punch, Framelits Labels Collection die

4 You Friend

This card combines a Create with Connie and Mary sketch challenge with The Paper Players color challenge.

CCMC184

I loved the color combo, but the sketch challenged me a bit.  You can't see it very good in the photo, but I used my Score Tool and scored some lines above the sentiment.
Here are the other supplies I used....
Stamps: Tiny Tags, Just Believe
Paper: Calypso Coral, White, In Color DP, Everyday Enchantment DP
Ink: Calypso Coral, Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzaz
Accessories: Tag punch, Word Window punch, Notebook Edge punch, Pleated Satin ribbon, Coral Organdy ribbon, basic rhinestone, mini brads, neutral button, score tool

For My Dad

I see my last post was two weeks ago today.  That was the day my Dad died.  He was 63...he had a heart attack.  I miss him.
He loved to play pool and had a group of friends he got together with a couple times a week to play with.  Those friends have been extremely generous to my family in this last couple of weeks, so I wanted to make each of them a special thank you card.  I wish I had thought of making a card like this when my dad was still here....he would have loved it.  I hope his friends appreciate it as much as he would have.  I am sad, but life has a way of going on and I look forward to getting back to stamping for fun and participating in weekly challenges.
Here are the supplies I used to make this card.....
Stamps: Close To My Heart
Paper: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Garden Green, Soft Suede, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Concord Crush, Real Red, Black and White
Ink: Black
Accessories: 1/2" circle punch, standard hand-held hole punch, 3/4" circle punch

Simply Thanks

sc365-jpg
This card uses sketch challenge #365 over at Splitcoaststampers.  I used the Simply Thanks stamp from last years `A la Carte Collection.  The butterfly brad is from the Everyday Enchantment Ribbon & Brad Pack that is available in the Sale-a-bration catalog.  To attach it to the button, I removed the posts from the back of the brad by rocking them back and forth until they broke off, then I adhearded a pop dot to the back of the brad and attatched it to the button.  I really like the look of it....it adds just a little extra something special!  Here are the other supplies I used......
Stamp: Simply Thanks
Paper: Rose Red, Soft Suede, Sofia DP (from Close To My Heart), White
Ink: Pretty in Pink
Accessories: Rose Red stitched ribbon, Scallop Edge punch, Everyday Enchantment brads, Pretty in Pink button.
