No Line Orange Flower ~ CCMC414 & TSOT278

Thursday!!!  Create with Connie and Mary!!! Yay!!!!!
We have a neat color combo for you to work your magic with this week!  I also chose to use the sketch from Try Stampin' On Tuesday #278.
Well, I just can't seem to stop watercoloring!  I tried to use my markers with this image first, but it just wasn't working out the way I wanted it to, so back to the good old aqua painter and ink pads!  I also used the no line watercolor technique again.  I like the look that it achieves.  I do have to say that this is not my best work ever, but oh well!

I did mix in a couple of neutrals on my card as well.  I used Sahara Sand and Early Espresso.

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: Butterfly Basics, Timeless Textures, Thoughtful Banners
Ink: Peek-a-boo Peach, Tangerine Tango, Cucumber Crush, Sahara Sand, Early Espresso
Paper: Tangerine Tango, Very Vanilla, Sahara Sand, Watercolor, Playful Palette DSP
Accessories: Linen thread, Duet Banner punch

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Red Rose Vine ~ CCMC393

Happy Thursday everyone!  It's time for another fabulous Create With Connie and Mary Challenge.  It's sketch week.....

I was a little stumped by this sketch at first.  I've never been a huge fan of repeated patterns like this.
I perused my stamps to give me some inspiration and voila!  The rose vine from {Floral Wing}!  Perfect!  Each vine has four little roses on it which fit the sketch just right.
I decided to go with red roses since we are close to Valentine's Day.

After I stamped the roses I went over each one with Crystal Effects to make them stand out even more.  It's hard to see in the photos.
Instead of a greeting I chose to put a butterfly fluttering down on the vines.  I cut out a butterfly using my Bold Butterfly framelits and Botanical Gardens Specialty vellum.  I perched him on the vines, but he didn't seem like enough, so I added in a red butterfly from {Kinda Eclectic} and topped it off with the small butterfly from {Butterfly Basics}.  I used a little strip of pearls for the butterfly body.

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: Floral Wings, Butterfly Basics, Kinda Eclectic, Hardwood
Ink: Smokey Slate, Real Red, Mossy Meadow
Paper: White, Sahara Sand, Botanical Gardens Specialty vellum
Accessories: Linen Thread, pearls, Elegant Butterfly punch

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Mint & Gold Amazing Butterfly ~ CCMC361

Good Thursday Morning!  Today we have another fab sketch over at Create With Connie and Mary for you!

My card for today came together from scraps that didn't work for other projects.  I just love it when that happens.  The Night of Navy and gold polka-dot background piece has been laying on my desk for a few weeks now.  I loved it and knew I'd find the right project for it at some point.  The polka-dot pattern is an long since retired background stamp called {Distressed Dots}.  There is a very similar NEW background stamp in the 2015-16 catalog called {Dots for Days}.
Some of you may remember an inspiration photo that I had posted before and said I'd definitely be using it again, well here it is.....
Organic dot wallpaper in navy and gold || Juju Papers Wallpaper
I really fell in love with this look and couldn't wait to replicate it again!  I love the dark navy background with the gold polka-dots.
So then, I had these Mint Macaroon and Tip Top Taupe butterflies laying around just begging to be put on a card.  Isn't the Night of Navy/Mint Macaroon a very attractive color combination?  I think it just might be my new favorite!
I backed the Mint butterfly with a Gold Foil one cut with the Bold Butterfly Framelit.  Again, I'm so in love with this look!!!!

For the horizontal strip, I used Mint Macaroon and stamped it with the honeycomb pattern stamp from {Butterfly Basics}.  I had seen a post from Tenealle Williams where she stamped an image several times to achieve a different kind of texture.
By Teneale Williams | Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop | Add Texture with Awesomely Artistic Stamp Set
That was my inspiration of the Mint horizontal piece.  I stamped it a few different times to try and achieve some different texture.
Lastly, I added some gold bakers twine and a gold embossed sentiment from another NEW set called {Cottage Greetings}.

Make sure you hop over to CCMC site and check out the other designers and their amazing work!  We love to hear from you!

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

On My Mind ~ Fusion, JAI267, CTC35

Hey everyone!  I hope your having a great Saturday so far!  I have a fun card to share today...I just love this new set from the 2015-16 Catalog called {That Thing You Did}!  I especially love this saying...it just makes me laugh!  I actually made this card for my good friend who recently lost her dad and I wanted to do something to lighten her mood.  I think this did the trick!  I think you can't help but laugh at this saying!
I combined a couple different challenges with this card.....
For the Fusion Challenge, I incorporated the inspiration photo colors and the turquoise butterfly, plus the sketch.
For Casing the Catty, this weeks challenge is to use the Thank You section of the new catalog as inspiration...I used the the card in the upper right-hand corner on page 13 as my inspiration.

Lastly, Just Add Ink calls us to just add typography.  I'd say this saying qualifies!

So Pretty ~ CCMC348 & RS157

Hello, hello!  It's time for Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!  Challenge #348 calls for us to use the beautiful trio of Rose Red, Soft Sky and Sahara Sand!
\
The other CCMC designers have come up with some real good looking samples to inspire you!  Make sure you check them all out!
When I first saw these colors I immediately thought winter....don't ask me why.  Well, maybe it was the snowflake shapes....I don't know. Anyway, once I started playing around with a few butterflies and flowers I could see how these colors can go spring easily!  They are just so darned pretty and soft together!

I also used the sketch from Retro Sketches 157 for my card this week.  You could do just about anything under the sun with this sketch!

I used two of the Irresistibly Yours DSP,  On the polka dot paper, I stamped the image right onto the paper in Sahara in and then used my blender pen to subtly color in some Rose Red on the petals of the flowers.  I then sponged on some Soft Sky ink just over the flower in the corner.  I very lightly stamped the honeycomb stamp across the bottom and then the "rope" image along the side.  I added the medium size die cut butter fly in both Rose Red and Vellum.  I like the softness that the vellum bring to the Rose Red color.  I finished it off with a Something Borrowed embellishment.

I hope you get some time to play along with us this week!  I can't wait to see what everyone does with these lovely colors!

Thanks for taking a peek!
