Tropical Chic Flamingo ~ HSS294, JUGS449, JAI417

Hello stampers!  We are back with a brand new challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments!  It's an Inspiration Challenge this time and the chosen theme is flamingos!  I just love this!  I was inspired by the flamingos, of course, and the colors in the bottom right picture.
I'm also playing along with Just Us Girls #449--Watercolor Background and Just Add Ink #417--Just Add "T".  My "T" is tropical!

I combined a couple of stamp sets here--the always awesome Fabulous Flamingo and the wonderful new Tropical Chic.  I'm loving the variety of leaves and the matching dies that this set coordinates with!  I think the card possibilities could be endless using this set!
I chose to only use the solid image from Fabulous Flamingo as I wanted to keep my flamingo "silhouetted".
I did a watercolor wash on the background and did some spattering as well.
a few sequins and some old Coastal Cabana ribbon (which I still have from when Coastal Cabana was an In-Color) finished off my card.

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: Fabulous Flamingo, Tropical Chic
Ink: Flirty Flamingo, Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, Pool Party
Paper: Coastal Cabana, Flirty Flamingo, Whisper White, Watercolor
Accessories: Petal Burst EF, Tropical Thinlits dies, Iridescent sequins, Coastal Cabana ruffled ribbon

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Bright Butterfly ~ HSS254, JAI342

Hello stampers! It's time once again for another Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge.  This time it's a sketch!
I'm also adding Just Add Ink's #342 inspiration of Just add N.  My N is for Night of Navy.
I trust everyone has recovered from Christmas.  I have.  Ours was nice and relaxing this year.  I felt like I wasn't ready for it as it approached, but I was able to pull everything together at the last minute.  I seem to be a really good procrastinator.  To top it off, my youngest son's birthday is the 23rd (he turned 12 this year), so that gets thrown in there as well.
The only thing I didn't get done, ironically, was my Christmas cards!
I SO enjoy creating Christmas cards, too.  In fact I'm usually not ready to be done with the Christmas card making season after it's over.  It was a little tough for me to get out of the Christmas card mode and create something else, but I did it....thanks to some Christmas DSP!  Yep, that green polka dot piece is from a retired Christmas stack called Merry Moments.  I love the big bold polka dot and bright green color.  I paired it with a Night of Navy butterfly thinlit topped over a silver glimmer butterfly.  These two butterflies have been laying around my desk since last spring!  I'm glad to finally give them their moment in the spotlight!  I wanted to incorporate a nice bright pink as well, so the sentiment from {Sunburst Sayings} is stamped in Melon Mambo and I added a Melon Mambo banner.  The Night of Navy background piece is stamped with the Brushstrokes background stamp in Night of Navy ink.  Lastly, I added a little silver thread to tie into the silver butterfly.  I'm pretty pleased with my first attempt of a "regular" card after Christmas card season!

I hope you'll be able to play along with us at Hand Stamped Sentiments!  Remember, our challenges last for two week, so you have plenty of time to create!
Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

On My Mind ~ Fusion, JAI267, CTC35

Hey everyone!  I hope your having a great Saturday so far!  I have a fun card to share today...I just love this new set from the 2015-16 Catalog called {That Thing You Did}!  I especially love this saying...it just makes me laugh!  I actually made this card for my good friend who recently lost her dad and I wanted to do something to lighten her mood.  I think this did the trick!  I think you can't help but laugh at this saying!
I combined a couple different challenges with this card.....
For the Fusion Challenge, I incorporated the inspiration photo colors and the turquoise butterfly, plus the sketch.
For Casing the Catty, this weeks challenge is to use the Thank You section of the new catalog as inspiration...I used the the card in the upper right-hand corner on page 13 as my inspiration.

Lastly, Just Add Ink calls us to just add typography.  I'd say this saying qualifies!

Made My Day ~ FF57 & JAI249

Hello!  I made this card for Fab Friday 57 & Just Add Ink 249.  \

The colors were easy....I just used the fun DSP from the {Stacked with Love} paper stack.  I also used this awesome splatter print from {Best Year Ever} DSP available in the Sale-a-bration catalog.  Also, as you can see, I added in black as a neutral.  The sentiment comes from {Best Day Ever} also available in the SAB catalog.  I added a few embelishments with the cute little word bubble clip and a flower button.  I also added a little heart over the sentiment to tie the Real Red into the focal point.  This card was fun and fast to put together!

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: Best Day Ever
Paper: Black, Best Year Ever & Stacked with Love DSP, White
Ink: Memento Black, Real Red
Accessories: Circle Framelits, Neutrals button, Hung Up Cute Clips, 1/4" black ribbon, Hexagon punch

Joy for Just Add Ink 241

This card was made for Just Add Ink 241, which was a really fun, versatile sketch.

I started off with the color combo.  I wanted to do something other that the ordinary christmas colors.  The colors are kinda beachy, I think, which totally contradicts the snowflakes.  Lol! I do like the way it turned out though!

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: none
Paper: White, Baked Brown Sugar, Bermuda Bay, Fresh Prints & Season of Style DSP, Champagne Shimmer
Accessories: Snowflake card Thinlits die, Gold metal button, Linen thread, Crumb Cake striped grosgrain ribbon

Believe ~ PP221 & JAI240

This card is for The Paper Players Challenge #221, a color challenge consisting of Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, and Mossy Meadow.  Also, Just Add Ink #240 calls for adding texture.

My colors are fudged a slight bit.  I had this Snowflake Thinlits card already cut in Old Olive.....another one of those situations where something is laying on the desk just waiting to be used.  I saw that the santa and sleigh stamp from Holiday Home fit nicely within the snowflake, so that's the direction I went.  I decided I wanted to create a nice little snowy scene.
I used patterned paper from the Trim the Tree paper stack and a DSP pack from a couple seasons ago called Season Of Style.  They both had a white background, so instead of Very Vanilla, I've got Whisper White.

I added sparkle (because frankly what is a holiday card without some sparkle, right?) in the form of Dazzling Diamonds and Silver glimmer paper.  I punched some stars with the new Confetti Stars punch out of Silver glimmer and glued them onto the sky.  For the snow, I cut an extra snowflake out of the Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper and trimmed it up to look like snowbanks.
This is where the texture comes in for the Just Add Ink challenge.

For the back of the snowflake, I added a couple of circles and stamped "Believe" from Good Greeting, and the little tree from Holiday Home, then added another punched star.

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: Holiday Home, Good Greetings
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive
Paper: Old Olive, Season of Style & Trim the Tree DSP, Cherry Cobbler, Silver & Dazzling Diamonds glimmer, White
Accessories: Snowflake Thinlits card die, Star Confetti punch, 1 1/4" & 1 3/8" circle punches

My Card For Danny ~ CTD301 & JAI223

Little Danny Nickerson is battling brain cancer.  He is about to turn 6years old.  His wish for his birthday was to receive lots of cards.  I made this for him and will be mailing it off today.  Here's a link to the news story about Danny....maybe you could mail him a card too!  His address is:
Danny Nickerson
P.O. Box 212
Foxboro, MA 02035

I used a couple different challenges to create this card.  The color challenge from Color Throwdown 301 and the sketch from Just Add Ink 223.

Since Danny is only turning 6, I wanted to use a fun, animal image.  I stamped on DSP and used the paper piecing technique, plus popped some of the images and sentiment up to add some fun.  I'm sure he'll love each and every card he receives.  I'm sure his family would appreciate prayers too!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DANNY!!!!

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: Life in the Forest, Hardwood, So Happy For You
Ink: Crumb Cake, Memento Black, Tangelo Twist
Paper: Soft Sky, Smoky Slate, White, Crumb Cake; Moonlight, Fresh Prints, & Sweater Weather DSP
Accessories: Circle Thinlets die, sponge

Flamingo Bunch ~ CTD288 & JAI211

This is the last flamingo card that my friend requested.  I used the color combo from Color Throwdown 288 and the sketch from Just Add Ink 211.

I started out by stamping a bunch of flamingos, masking some off.  I originally wanted to use the sentiment "thanks a bunch", but as I looked through my stash I didn't have anything that said that....I really thought in my head that I did!  I settled on the "thanks much" from Six Sided Sampler.  I'm pleased with the outcome, although I think "thanks a bunch" would have been much cuter!

Here's a list of my supplies....
Supplies for this card
Stamps: Six Sided Sampler, Chevron, flamingo I bought from Ebay
Paper: Basic Gray, White, Gumball Green, Smokey Slate, Melon Mambo DSP
Ink: Melon Mambo, Gumball Green, Smokey Slate
Accessories: Photo Corner punch, 1 3/4" circle punch, rhinestones, edgelits

Flamingo Silhouette ~ JAI208

Here is flamingo card #2 for the request that my friend made.  I used the color combo from Just Add Ink 208.....well, kinda.  Now that I look at the combo as I post this, I see it's Smokey Slate and not Sahara Sand.  I had it in my head that it was Sahara Sand.....Oh well!
Anyway, I used the same flamingo stamp that I purchased from Ebay only I used my black marker to color it all in and make it a silhouette.  I used my brayer to make the water/sky background, then sponged in the Sahara Sand.  The foliage silhouettes are from Inspired by Nature and a single stamp I bought at Hobby Lobby.  It's hard to see in the photo, but I stamped some words and splotches on the sand colored DSP as well as sponged it.  For the base card, I stamped the big image from Postage Due in Pacific Point ink.

I added a little "Miss You" tag from the Just Saying set.

Supplies for this card
Stamps: Postage Due, Just Saying, Inspired By Nature, French Foliage, Gorgeous Grunge, Flamingo & Foliage from other companies
Paper: Pacific Point, Sweet Sorbet DSP, Black, White
Ink: Calypso Coral, Pacific Point, Sahara Sand, Black, Summer Starfruit
Accessories: Apothecary Accents die, 3/4" circle punch, smooch spray, brayer, Natural trim, Calypso Coral bakers twine, dotted scallop ribbon punch

Colorful Santa ~ MOJO322, JAI194, & CTD271

Good Morning stampers!  We are inching closer and closer to Christmas....I've been working on cards here and there, but have not had a chance to sit down and participate in many challenges for about a week now.  Finally, I found time to  make this little gem, which incorporates the sketch from Mojo Monday, Santa from Just Add Ink, and the colors from Color Throwdown.
JAI 194

I've never really been interested in any sort of Santa stuff until I saw some projects made with this Santa stamp.  He's the first Santa I've owned!  I've sure had fun creating with him....most of it has been CAS's.  There are a lot of people out there with some great ideas and I'm sure grateful that they share!

Here's a list of supplies I used....
Stamps: Santa's List
Paper: Black, Cherry Cobbler, Primrose Petals DSP, Pear Pizzazz
Ink: Stazon Black, Cherry Cobbler, Primrose Petals, Pear Pizzazz, Smokey Slate, Crumb Cake, Pink Pirouette
Accessories: Labels Framelits die, Cherry seam binding ribbon, Blender pen, Frosted Finishes embellishment, glitter glue, Pretty Print EF

Mad For This Monarch ~ DD62 & JAI175

Oh, how I love the way this monarch butterfly turned out.  When I saw the challenge over at Dynamic Duos, which was Calypso Coral and Black with a butterfly dessert option, it screamed out to use this monarch image from Best of Butterflies.  I used the sketch from Just Add Ink 175.
#175 - Sketch

The Calypso Coral DSP I used for the top background looks somewhat pink in the photo and looks so much better in real life.

For the tag, I cut out a Chalk Talk tag from some Festival of Prints DSP.  I added some swirls and butterflies with Soft Suede ink and then sponged the whole thing.  I traced the outside of the die onto black cardstock and hand cut it out for the back layer.  I like the effect it gave.

Stamps: Best of Butterflies, Baroque Motifs
Paper: Black, Calypso Coral, Festival of Prints, & Beau Chateau DSP, Watercolor
Ink: Calypso Coral, Crisp Cantaloupe, Soft Suede, VersaMark
Accessories: Chalk Talk die, Watercolor pen, Pearls, Antique brad, Wide Striped Grosgrain ribbon
