Last Colour Me ~ CMCC77 & SSC104

Well, the time has come to say goodbye to my place as a designer at Colour Me Card Challenge.  I have immensely enjoyed my six-month run!  I also got to know a bunch of neat girls in my fellow creators over there.  I'm going to miss being a part of the team, but I know the new group will have some wondrous work work to share!  I will definitely keep participating in the challenges, too.
So, for our last challenge we have a playful color combination for you.....
Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette, Tangerine Tango, and Perfect Plum.

I also used the sketch from Sunday Stamps Challenge 104.

I used an image from a spankin' new set called {You're Sublime}.  All the images in this set are just tooooo cute!  I thought I could work the challenge colors into this one and I'm super pleased with the way it turned out!
I used my blender pen and ink pads to add the color to the flowers and then I paper pieced the wheel barrow bin.  I scattered some sweet punched flowers with tiny pearl in the center and added some black and white bakers twine.  Oh, and let's not forget the fun embossed background!  That's a new folder called {elegant dots}.

For just one more detail, I added some crystal effects to the flowers.
Crystal Effects always looks so much better in real life and is pretty hard to photograph, but I can assure you that it totally took this card up notch!

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: You're Sublime
Paper: Black, Melon Mambo, Tangerine Tango, White, Fresh Prints DSP stack
Ink: Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette, Perfect Plum, Tangerine Tango, Smokey Slate, Pistachio Pudding
Accessories: Crystal Effects, Elegant Dots EF, Tiny flower punch, pearls, Black Bakers Twine

Eclectic Flower Shop ~ CMCC76 & SSSC273

Good Wednesday everyone!  Colour Me has another swell challenge for us this week!  It's sure to get your creative juices flowing!  This week's colors are....Elegant Eggplant, Coastal Cabana, and Old Olive.
I also used the sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 273.
As you know, purple always stumps me, but as usual, I turned to my beloved Pinterest and found some inspiration in the form of these flowers.....
8 Perfect Color Combinations for Your Wedding - Purple, Silver and Blue
I love the turquoise blue in the center and the purple on the tips, so that's what I tried to replicate.  I stamped the flowers on watercolor paper and used my aqua painter to wash the colors on.   After they dried, I punched them out and curled the petals a little.

The neutral hardwood background is one of the new in colors....Tip Top Taupe.  I also added some Tip Top Taupe lace ribbon and some crocheted ribbon.

Make sure to check out my fellow Colour Me designers blogs!

You're My Anchor ~ CMCC75

Hello, or should I say Ahoy!  LOL!  It's Wednesday and time for another new Colour Me challenge.  This weeks colors are Night of Navy and Real Red.

I just couldn't resist going nautical.  I wanted to incorporate the old wood look, so I stamped my hardwood stamp with Crumb Cake ink onto Crumb Cake cardstock and then cut each plank out individually.  I distressed the ends of each plank and sponged them.  After I adhered them out on a scrap piece of paper, I ran it through my big shot using a square framelit to cut out a center window.
Them I used some sandpaper and sanded the planks to make them look even more distressed.

I kept everything else fairly simple as far as the stamping goes.  The type in the background is from an old set called {Daring Adventure}.  The anchor is from {The Open Sea}.  I wish I had a sentiment to go with it, like the one from a new set called {Guy Greetings}....I may just need to purchase that set!
I made this a shaker card to give it a little something extra.  I put clear seed beads in the shaker...they are sorta hard to see in the photo.
Lastly, I added some red bakers twine for a small accent.

Make sure you hop over and check out the creations made by my fellow Colour Me designers!  They are fab!!!!

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!!!!

Bright White ~ CMCC74 & PP247

Hey stampers!  It's time for another Colour Me monochromatic challenge!  White on white!
I also used The Paper Players Tic Tac Toe challenge, which I ALWAYS love to play along with!  I used Die-cut, embossing and sequins (only my sequins are rhinestones).
The key to a white on white card is lots of texture and layers.  I started out by spraying a piece of Irresistibly Yours DSP with shimmer spray.  I added a white embossed cut out from {Everything Eleanore}, and circle that has white organdy woven ribbon behind it and then a white embossed vellum flower from {Flower Shop}.  I added a small white punched flower to the center of the vellum flower and finished it off with some rhinestones.

Here's a little better picture of the shimmery background.

Make sure you take a gander at all the other designers creations!

A Little Birthday Cod! ~ CMCC73, PP246 & ATCAS64

Well, hellooooo!  It's time for another Colour Me challenge!  This week's challenge was just that for me....A CHALLENGE!  This was the second incarnation of my card.  I'm still not thrilled with it, but hey, you win some and you lose some.  That's the way the cookie crumbles!
Anyway, our color combo this week is Blackberry Bliss, Rich Razzleberry, Lost Lagoon, and Pumpkin Pie.  It was a tuff one for me because some of you may know that I don't really do purple very well....and we had TWO purples to play with....and orange....and blue.  Uff.
I also used the sketch from The Paper Players 246.
I'm also entering in Addicted to CAS: Animal.

I just purchased this old, old stamp set from 2005 called {Polar Pals} from a friend who was selling all her stuff.  I bought it because I really liked the little penguin....penguins are my favorite!
I also loved the sentiment "I thought I'd send you a little birthday cod!".  I got to thinking that maybe I could play around and make this set work with these colors.

I made the little ice berg the penguin is standing on into a shaker filled with iridescent glitter.  I like that part.

So, I can't wait to see what all you stampers come up with!!!!
As always, make sure you stop by and check out my fellow CM challenge designers!

You Did It Star ~ CMCC68 & SSSC265

Good Wednesday morning!  It's Colour Me time once again!  This week is a bright and cheerful color combination.  Night of Navy, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry and Lost Lagoon.  I cannot wait to see the idea that everyone comes up with!
I also used the sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch 265

I used a couple different techniques to achieve my card.  First, for the acrylic block watercolor, I stamped some of the challenge inks directly onto my clear block.  I then held it at arms length and lightly misted it with a spray bottle filled with water.  I stamped the block directly onto Whisper White cardstock.  The look is a nice watercolored effect.  I used that piece to cut out the star.

The other technique I used was the Bouncing Brayer (the Crushed Curry layer).  I had recently seen this technique used on this card by Claire Broadwater.  I thought it was kinda cool and something I'd never tried before.

Like I said at the beginning of the blog post....I'm so excited to see what everyone creates!
Make sure you check out the DT blogs to gain inspiration!

Sunflower & Butterfly ~ CMCC66

Happy Wednesday everyone!  It's time for a new Colour Me challenge.  This week we have the cheery duo of Marina Mist and Daffodil Delight.
As I was searching my stash of DSP for this polka dotted pattern, I came across a bit of yellow gingham.  Don't you just love a polka dot/gingham combination?!?  It's so country.  After finding my paper, I decided on a sunny sunflower and fun butterfly to compliment the papers.  I used an old Sizzix die called Daisies #2.  I cut two flowers and sponged the tips.  I added a circle of Early Espresso and another little circle of Baked Brown Sugar polka dotted DSP to complete the flower's center.  I added the pleasant little blue butterfly from {Kinda Eclectic}.  I thought the crosshatch pattern on the butterfly complimented the gingham and polka dots.

I used a pretty basic sketch that's been seen lots and lots but never gets old!  I used a bit of Fancy Foil Vellum for my large banner.  I didn't want to cover up the gingham too much!  A little bit of doily, some gold sequins (to tie in the gold vellum) and some pearls on the butterfly body complete this summery little number!

Make sure to stop by the blogs of my fellow CM designers. You will have tons of inspiration!!!!

Interlocking Cracked Glass Deer ~ CMCC65

Wednesday has sneaked around again so that means it's time for another Colour Me challenge!!!  This week we are going monocromatic with Soft Sky.  I tried my hardest to keep my colors only Soft Sky and Vanilla, but I finally relented and added some Sahara Sand DSP in there.  It looked way better to me that way! I used this particular peice (which is retired and I don't know the name of) because I thought it sort of looked like twisty antlers.

I've had this idea for this cracked glass deer head for a while now.  The deer head from {Remembering Christmas} is one of my very favorite stamps of all time from Stampin' Up.  I know it's supposed to be a Christmas stamp and it's retired, but who cares!  I love it, so I'm gonna use it!!!!
The cracked glass technique has been around for ages, but it's such a fun one!
Here's a link for the tutorial if you'd like to try it for yourself and want to know how.
To make the deer head, I stamped it in white, fussy cut it out and added the layers and layers of glassy glaze embossing powder that it takes for this technique.  I adhered it to the chevron oval with Fast Fuse, which is a little stronger adhesive, just because the image tends to get a little heavy with all the layers of embossing on it.

I also made this card an interlocking gate fold, just to make it a tad more interesting.  It puts a fun spin on it!

Make sure you stop by these ladies' blogs and check out their awesome creations!
Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: Remembering Christmas, Four Feathers, Chevron & Hardwood background stamps
Ink: Soft Sky, Sahara Sand
Paper: Very Vanilla, Soft Sky, Sahara Sand DSP
Accessories: Glassy Glaze EP, Linen Thread, Feathers die, Ovals die, Natural Trim ribbon, Venetian Crochet ribbon
