Americana Flowers ~ HSS242, WWYS72, PPA308

Hello my fellow stampers!!!  Happy Tuesday!  Today's card is for Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge #242: a color challenge.
With a red, white and blue color combo one tends to think about stars and stripes, the 4th of July, or nautical....at least I do anyway!  I really tried my best to think outside the box and not go there.  I saw What Will You Stamp challenge #72 using {You're Sublime} and I thought perhaps I could blend the two challenges!  I also found Pals Paper Arts #308, which was a nice sketch challenge.  I REALLY love it when I can combine several challenges into one!  It's so fun!

I took a country/Americana type approach with this card.  I colored the flowers and wheel barrow with my blender pen and ink pads.
The pin-dot Cherry Cobbler background paper adds the country feel, as well as the barnwood paper (which I sponged) and the burlap ribbon.
The new banner punch was just right to add the sentiment on top of the flowers.

I added some Crystal Effects (now retired ... boo) to the flowers to make them stand out just a little bit more.

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: You're Sublime, Thoughtful Banners
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Dapper Denim, Crumb Cake, So Saffron, Stazon Black
Paper: Dapper Denim, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Farmers Market DSP
Accessories: Blender pen, Banner punch, Oval Framelits, Burlap Ribbon, Ruched Ribbon, Crystal Effects

I hope you'll be able to join us at Hand Stamped Sentiments and remember, the challenge runs for two weeks!
Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Beachy Sea Street ~ CCMC402

Yay!  It's Create with Connie and Mary Thursday again!  And, it's color week!
Aren't these colors just gorgeous together?  My mind was going a thousand different directions with this trio.  I couldn't decided weather to go floral or funky or fresh and clean. I actually did another card that had a watercolored rose , but it just didn't come together like I had envisioned in my head. So, plan B. I'd been tossing around with different ideas (again, in my head) using {Sea Street} and thought they'd be cool in these colors, so I set out to do a shadow box/sampler type card.
I'm so excited with the way this turned out and I love this set with these colors!

These images are so fun to play with too!

The background stamp is the looooong ago retired {Cheesecloth} stamp, but I just couldn't resist pairing it with these cute, sea images.  I tried a couple of different choices in products that were current, but nothing looked quite as good as this did.

The greeting is from the fun set {You're Sublime} and I think it fits perfectly with this theme.

Here's a list of my supplies.....

Stamps: Sea Street, Cheesecloth, You're Sublime
Ink: Soft Suede, Mint Macaron, Lost Lagoon
Paper: Same + white
Accessories: 3/4" and 1" circle punches, Linen thread

SP16Badge

I hope you'll have time to join us for this cool color challenge!  I can't wait to take a gander at all your creations!
Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Vibrant You're Sublime ~ CCMC368 & RS176

Good Thursday!  It's time for another Create with Connie and Mary Challenge!  We've got a vibrant color challenge for you this week.

I wanted to go in a fun direction with these fun colors so I chose to use {You're Sublime}.  This is the first time this little submarine has seen ink and it sure was fun to color!  I used my blender pen and ink pads.
I also chose to use the sketch 176 from Retro Sketches.  It worked perfect with my little submarine scene!
I do have a small confession to make....I didn't have any Tangerine Tango paper, so I had to go with Pumpkin Pie.  The Pumpkin Pie DSP I used is actually from the retired paper pack Polka Dot Parade.  It's a shade of orange anyway!  There is a little strip of scalloped orange beneath the polka dot piece.  I used the Dotted Scalloped border punch, which now that I look at the new catalog I see has been retired as well.  I'm not doing so hot here.  OOPS!
Let's focus on what IS new or current!
The Cucumber Crush DSP is from the new Cherry on Top paper stack.  I cut out a circle in Pacific Point CS with my circle die, and then ran it thru the big shot using the new Elegant Dots EF.  I like how it gives kind of a bubble effect.
I fussy cut the cute little submarine and fish after I colored them and popped them up on dimensionals.  I also added some Crystal Effects to the submarine windows.

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Happy Camper ~ FabFri67

Good Tuesday!  Well, today is my birthday but I made this card for my Sister-in-law whose birthday is three days from now.  We both love to camp...in fact our families are meeting up tomorrow for a big Fourth of July camping celebration down in Wyoming.  It should be a fun, fun time with family!
I used the color combo (for the most part) from Fab Friday 67.

We could use a couple of the colors or all of them.  Well, I used all of them except Mint Macaron.  I did, however, add in some Bermuda Bay in there to coordinate with the Cherry On Top DSP.

This was my first card in a box.  They were all the rage about a year ago, but I never got around to making one.  My sister-in-law is a stamper too, so I wanted to make something for her that was just a little bit more special than a regular card.  I know she'll appreciate this!

Here's a list of my suppples.....
Stamps: You're Sublime, Sprinkles of Life
Ink: Cucumber Crush, Watermelon Wonder, Bermuda Bay, Delightful Dijon, Tip Top Taupe
Paper: white, Cherry On Top DSP, Watermelon Wonder, Window Sheet
Accessories: Large oval punch, Balloon Framelits, Rhinestone, tree builder punch

Thanks for taking a peek!

Last Colour Me ~ CMCC77 & SSC104

Well, the time has come to say goodbye to my place as a designer at Colour Me Card Challenge.  I have immensely enjoyed my six-month run!  I also got to know a bunch of neat girls in my fellow creators over there.  I'm going to miss being a part of the team, but I know the new group will have some wondrous work work to share!  I will definitely keep participating in the challenges, too.
So, for our last challenge we have a playful color combination for you.....
Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette, Tangerine Tango, and Perfect Plum.

I also used the sketch from Sunday Stamps Challenge 104.

I used an image from a spankin' new set called {You're Sublime}.  All the images in this set are just tooooo cute!  I thought I could work the challenge colors into this one and I'm super pleased with the way it turned out!
I used my blender pen and ink pads to add the color to the flowers and then I paper pieced the wheel barrow bin.  I scattered some sweet punched flowers with tiny pearl in the center and added some black and white bakers twine.  Oh, and let's not forget the fun embossed background!  That's a new folder called {elegant dots}.

For just one more detail, I added some crystal effects to the flowers.
Crystal Effects always looks so much better in real life and is pretty hard to photograph, but I can assure you that it totally took this card up notch!

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: You're Sublime
Paper: Black, Melon Mambo, Tangerine Tango, White, Fresh Prints DSP stack
Ink: Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette, Perfect Plum, Tangerine Tango, Smokey Slate, Pistachio Pudding
Accessories: Crystal Effects, Elegant Dots EF, Tiny flower punch, pearls, Black Bakers Twine

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!
