Happy Hoppy Birthday Toad ~ CCMC549, SSC198

Hey there stampers!  Today's card is for a fresh new color challenge happening over at Create with Connie and Mary.  Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lime Twist, and Balmy Blue....what a pleasent trio, right?  Now that I think about it, this would be a great color combo for a baby boy card!  Somebody run with that idea! Haha!  I also used the sketch challenge at Sunday Sketch Challege and the Clean and Simple challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More this week to help me with my design team card.

I watercolored the little toad and used blends on the butterfly/dragonfly....or whatever he is!

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: So Hoppy Together
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lime Twist, Balmy Blue, Stazon Black, Memento Black
Paper: Daffodil Delight, Balmy Blue, Lemon Lime Twist, Gingham Gala, Whisper White, Watercolor

Stumped Fox ~ CCMC542, SSC195

Hello stampers!  Today's card is for Create with Connie and Mary's newest sketch challenge #542.  I've also used the color palette from Sunday Stamps Challenge 195, although I think my colors are a tad bit brighter.
The rust and peach colors reminded me of a fox, so that's the direction I headed in.
I started by stamping the fox body in Mango Melody ink and added in the eyes, nose and legs in Cajun Craze.  I punched out the body, as well as the tail, face and ears in white.  I punched another white tail accessory piece and added it under the chin.  Next, I stamped the stump with Early Espresso in on Gray Granite cardstock and fussy cut it out.  I layered the whole thing on a Balmy Blue stitched shape oval.  For the background panels, I stamped the Tree Rings background stamp in Early Espresso on Gray Granite CS again and the Buffalo Check background stamp with Balmy Blue on Balmy Blue.  I ran three strands of the braided linen twine for the center vertical element of the sketch and added a little strip of Cajun Craze to the left side of it.  Everything was mounted on a white card base.

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Mint Tin Tile Pitcher ~ HSS298, SSC187

Hi stampers!  Today's card is my design team card for our newest Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch challenge.  I flipped the heart part of the sketch to the bottom of my card.  My card turned out to be a loose interpretation of the sketch, but hey, that's part of the fun if creating isn't it!?!  Sometimes I follow a sketch to a tee, and other times I use it more of a guideline.  I also used most of the colors from Sunday Stamps color challenge #187.  It's kinda funny how this card came together.  I had a bunch of my supplies packed up to take to a card class, but I happened to have the image already stamped and laying on my desk.  I had to use whatever colors of blends markers I had not packed up and this is what I came up with!  Bermuda Bay on the leaves, Bronze on the wood flowers, Flirty Flamingo on the regular flowers, Real Red on the berries, and Mint Macron on the pitcher. I used
the light skin color blends on the cotton puffs....I'm not totally enthralled with that color but it is what it is!

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: Country Home, Very Vintage
Ink: memento black, Stampin' Blends: light and dark Mint Macron, light and dark Bermuda Bay, light Daffodil Delight, light and dark Flirty Flamingo, dark Real Red, Ivory, and Bronze
Paper: Mint Macron, Gold Foil, Whisper White
Accessories: Tin Tile TIEF, doily, circle punch, Petals and More thinlits, Animal Friends thinlits, Wooden leaf (retired), Corner Rounder punch

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

First Glamper Camper! ~ CCMC450, SSC148

Hey stampers!  Create with Connie and Mary is back with another sweet color trio this week!
I'm FINALLY getting around to using my Glamper Camper set.  I think this is just the cutest! I thought the colors could lend themselves to a 50's vintage camper so I pulled this set out.  I love the cute little flamingo perched on the lawn too!  It's so fun!
At first I had the idea I was gonna paper piece the camper with different designer papers.  But, I soon realized it was a lot more cutting than I wanted to do....so, back to good old watercolor!!!  I stamped the image on white shimmer paper.  It's a great paper to do some minimal watercoloring on.  I'm so happy with the way it came out.  I layered it on a Daffodil Delight banner of DSP (and as I type this I'm realizing that the challenge color is So Saffron! Oops!)
The whole thing is perched on a piece of Carried Away DSP from this years Sale-a-bration.  I though the Mint Macaron cloud pattern would make a fun background.
I used the sketch from Sunday Stamps to help me out with the design of my card this week.

I hope you'll be able to join us in this challenge by posting your creation on the Create with Connie and Mary facebook page.
Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Special Reason Shabby Chic ~ CCMC439, CASCS204, SSC143, SIP80, SUO165

Oh my gosh....Create with Connie and Mary time has rolled around again and I've got NEW STUFF to show off!  This is such an exciting time of year.  We're all coming down off the holidays and what's there to look forward to now?  The NEW occasions catalog and Sale-a-bration!  Both catalogs are chock full of fun, beautiful new stamps and supplies!
To go along with our fabulous sketch this week, I chose to get color inspired by CAS Colours & Sketches #204 and Sunday Stamps #143.  I'm also entering in SIP#80 for the card makers choice, and SUO #165 which challenges us to use new stuff.

So, can you spot the new stuff?  Well the flowers are from a beautiful new set called {Special Reason} and have Stylish Stems coordinating dies.  One of my very favorite new products is the Hexagons texture folder.  It gives a super deep impression like my beloved Cable Knit folder.  I just love the look of these awesome impression folders.
Another new accessory showcased on this card is the Falling in Love DSP and Falling in Love embellishment (the center of the big flower).  I'm super excited about these new products and can't wait to use them more.  I love the Special Reason flowers because they look a little worn.  It looks like I didn't get enough ink on them, but that is the look of that stamp.  I thought it lent itself nicely to a shabby chic look, which is another thing I'm quite fond of.

Here's a list of all my supplies....

Stamps: Special Reason, Thoughtful Banners, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Hardwood
Ink: Sweet Sugarplum, Pink Pirouette, Soft Sky, Crumb Cake
Paper: Sahara Sand, Sweet Sugarplum, Very Vanilla, Soft Sky, Falling In Love DSP
Accessories: Falling in Love embellishment, Hexagon Texture Folder, Stylish Stems framelits, metal rim pearls, lace trim, very vanilla satin ribbon

Sugar Fox ~ CCMC418, WWYS75, PP306, SSC132

Well, well, well it's Thursday once again!  This card takes in 4, yes FOUR, challenges!  Whoo Hoo!  How fun is that!
First and foremost is our Create with Connie and Mary color challenge #418, which was the reason I was searching for inspiration in the first place.  I decided I wanted to use my {Foxy Friends} stamp set with these colors and make a Sweet Sugarplum fox.  I kinda like it when these sort of sets are used with nontraditional colors.....like who would ever expect a light purple/pink fox!  And then the stars aligned and in my inspiration search I came across What Will You Stamp #75 which challenges us to use the Foxy Friends set.  Over at The Paper Players this week was a tic-tac-toe challenge, and some of you may know that I'm a lover of the tic-tac-toe challenges.  I chose to use texture, a scene, and diecuts.  And, why not incorporate a sketch too!  As luck would have it Sunday Stamps Challenge had a perfect match for me!
I love it when it all comes together!

Of course with these colors she has to be a girl fox so I placed a flower on her head.

We would love for you to join us over at Create with Connie and Mary this week!  I'm excited to see what everyone does with these colors....traditional and nontraditional!

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: Foxy Friends
Ink: Mint Macaron, Sweet Sugarplum, Rich Razzleberry, Crumb Cake
Paper: White, Mint Macaron, Rich Razzleberry
Accessories: Fox Builder punch, Woodland EF, Linen Thread, Beautiful Branches thinlits, Oval Framelits, Tree builder punch, Rhinestone

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Good Thursday everyone!  It's Create with Connie and Mary time again!  This week it's the Christmas-y colors of Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow and Smokey Slate or Silver.
I chose to go with silver.  I used my brushed silver cardstock for the window and the silver DSP from the Neutrals Color Collection stack.

I used the three squares across the bottom for the Paper Players including Ribbon, Trees, and Punch or Die-Cut.

I hope you'll find some time to play along with us at CCMC #384 this week! We love to see and comment on your creations!
Here's a list of my supplies....

Christmas Coffee with a Birdie ~ SSC113

Good Wednesday everyone!  Today's card is for Sunday Stamps challenge 113.
I was completely inspired by the picture of the mugs and tea (or coffee....I prefer coffee!)

I was also inspired by this cool, vintage feeling picture I found on Pinterest.  The artist is named Steve Mack.
Comfort and Joy! by mrmack, via Flickr:

He's got some other styles similar to this one and I'll be featuring at least a couple other cards inspired by his work in the future, so stay tuned!
I love the simplicity of his drawings, which translates easily into punch art!

Basically this card uses a variety of circle and oval punches.  I hand cut the triangle elements, as well as the steam.

The sentiment on the inside of from an older set from Close To My Heart.

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!
