Special Reason Shabby Chic ~ CCMC439, CASCS204, SSC143, SIP80, SUO165

Oh my gosh....Create with Connie and Mary time has rolled around again and I've got NEW STUFF to show off!  This is such an exciting time of year.  We're all coming down off the holidays and what's there to look forward to now?  The NEW occasions catalog and Sale-a-bration!  Both catalogs are chock full of fun, beautiful new stamps and supplies!
To go along with our fabulous sketch this week, I chose to get color inspired by CAS Colours & Sketches #204 and Sunday Stamps #143.  I'm also entering in SIP#80 for the card makers choice, and SUO #165 which challenges us to use new stuff.

So, can you spot the new stuff?  Well the flowers are from a beautiful new set called {Special Reason} and have Stylish Stems coordinating dies.  One of my very favorite new products is the Hexagons texture folder.  It gives a super deep impression like my beloved Cable Knit folder.  I just love the look of these awesome impression folders.
Another new accessory showcased on this card is the Falling in Love DSP and Falling in Love embellishment (the center of the big flower).  I'm super excited about these new products and can't wait to use them more.  I love the Special Reason flowers because they look a little worn.  It looks like I didn't get enough ink on them, but that is the look of that stamp.  I thought it lent itself nicely to a shabby chic look, which is another thing I'm quite fond of.

Here's a list of all my supplies....

Stamps: Special Reason, Thoughtful Banners, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Hardwood
Ink: Sweet Sugarplum, Pink Pirouette, Soft Sky, Crumb Cake
Paper: Sahara Sand, Sweet Sugarplum, Very Vanilla, Soft Sky, Falling In Love DSP
Accessories: Falling in Love embellishment, Hexagon Texture Folder, Stylish Stems framelits, metal rim pearls, lace trim, very vanilla satin ribbon

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Southwestern Feathers ~ CCMC354

Happy Thursday everyone!  It's time for Create with Connie and Mary's Thursday Challenge.  This time we have a super cool color combo for you.  I went with very geometrical patterns, which normally isn't my thing.  I like it with the feathers though.  It gives it a little bit of a southwestern feel.

Make sure you check out the creations from the others on the design team!

Black & Pool Just For You ~ PPA168 & DD66

This card is for Dynamic Duos 66 and I also incorporated the sketch from Pals Paper Arts 168 loosely.
PPA168
I used my Gifts of Kindness set for the first time.  What a cute flower to use....the possibilities are endless.  I went for a fast and simple card this time, so there was no embellishing the flower.  I love that the image has a dot pattern on it and I mimicked that with the black polka dot DSP.

Here's a list of supplies...
Stamps: Gifts of Kindness, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Pool Party, Black, White, Sent With Love DSP, Day & Night DSP
Ink: Pool Party, Black

Phone Cover Inspired

I made this card for Sunday Stamps Challenge 46.  I loved the sketch right off the bat and I've had this idea rolling around in my head for a while.  It was totally inspired by my cell phone cover.  Here's the only bad thing....I missed the SSC deadline...bummer.

I started by stamping a couple of flowers in versamark and embossed them in black.  I then masked them off and did the background stamping with several different stamps.  I painted bleach on the flower petals, let it dry and made some yellow "swooshes" on each petal, as well as colored the center.  Next, I put all my layers together, wrapped some linen thread at the top, and added a button and sentiment tag.

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: Fabulous Florets, French Foliage, Everything Eleanor, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Summer Starfruit, Midnight Muse, Lucky Limeade (textured), Vanilla; Floral District, Print Poetry & In-Color DP
Ink: Black, Midnight Muse, Versamark, Summer Starfruit, Lucky Limeade
Accessories: Black EP, Linen Thread, Neutral button, Tiny Tag Punch, bleach

Everything Must Come To An End....DD50

Well, this is a sad post and a happy post all wrapped into one....were do I begin?  This is my last post as a Dynamic Duos designer.  :(   I have had a blast being on this design team and am so darn sad to see it come to an end.  I got to meet wonderful ladies, that were on the team with me, and have gotten to know each of them a little more personally than I otherwise would have just surfing their blogs.  I admire each one for their talent and have learned some tricks and tips along the way.  Six months went by sooooo fast, I can't even begin to tell you.  It has been a pleasure and a highlight of my stamping career to be a part of this team.  I look forward to playing along in many, many more challenges with the Dynamic Duos and wish the new crop of designers as much fun as I had!  I can't wait to see who Lesley has chosen.....
So much for the sad, now onto the happy!  This week was fellow designer Vicki Burdick's birthday.  Lesley has set up a linky for us to link up birthday cards for Vicki.  Our design team desided to make all of our challenge cards for dear Vicki.  The colors this week are Blushing Bride and Calypso Coral.
I also used the sketch from Mojo Monday 290.
I chose to go with one of my new stamp sets, Postage Due.  I love the vintage feel of the stamp set.
I used the punched postage stamps for the four squares and the flower/script/bike image for my bottom panel.  I stamped most everything in Blushing Bride, mainly because I don't own any cardstock in that color.  I will need to purchase some now that it is being introduced into the subtles family.
I sponged everything with Crumb Cake to antique it.  I also embossed the bottom panel with my Vintage Wallpaper EF, for more antique feel.  A little natural trim, Calypso Coral organdy ribbon, a brad and some pearls and this card was finished off.

So, Happy Birthday to Vicki!  I know she has been thoroughly suprised.  And, farwell Dynamic Duos Design team.....I'll see you in the gallery! ♥
For one last time, check out my fellow designers blogs.....they are all amazing!!!!
Here's a list of my supplies...
Stamps: Postage Due, Sent with Love, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Everyday Enchantment DP
Ink: Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake

Fancy Field Flowers ~ DD45 & SSSC180

Good Saturday Morning everyone!  Dynamic Duos has beautiful, monochromatic color combination for us this week.  Pretty in Pink & Regal Rose.

I used Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 180 to help me along with my card for this week.
I hadn't used my Field Flowers set in a while and decided to go with it!  I also decided to add in a neutral of Crumb Cake.  I stamped the flower stems on a piece of First Edition DP, stamped the flower heads on vanilla cardstock, cut them out and attatched them to the stems.  I curled up the edges of the flowers a little to give them some dimetion.  I also stamped the flower center on vanilla, cut them out, sprayed them with a little shimmer spray, and popped them up with dimentionals.  I distressed the edges of the designer paper, sponged it, and layered it on some Crumb Cake.  For the background piece, I ran my brayer over my crumb cake ink pad and rolled it right onto the Vintage Wallpaper EF.  I placed a piece of vanilla in and ran it through the my Big Shot.  Voila!  A textured background with a little color.  I love that technique!  A few other accessories in the form of ribbon, buttons and sentiment tickets complete my card.

Make sure you hop on over and check out all the other amazing designs our team has come up with this week!
Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: Field Flowers, Kindness Matters, That's the Ticket, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, First Edition DP
Ink: Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Crumb Cake

Feelings of Spring ~ DD42

Good Saturday morning everybody!  Dynamic Duos has another fun color combination for you this week....Daffodil Delight & Garden Green.

These colors conjured up thought of spring and flowers for me.  The weather here in northeastern Montana has been unseasonably warm for late February and early March, giving everyone a little taste of spring.  I've heard so many comments about being ready for warmer weather and snow melting.  But, we can't get the cart ahead of the horse just yet....there is snow in the forecast for the beginning of the week!  In the meantime, we'll just have to settle for the paper kind of flowers to make us happy.  I chose to use the daisy, one of my most favorite flowers on the planet!

This card doesn't need any explaining....it's pretty straight forward and simple.
Make sure you check out all the other designers at Dynamic Duos!

Here's a list of supplies.....
Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Daffodil Delight, Garden Green, White, Polka Dot Parade DP
Ink: Garden Green, Daffodil Delight (sponging on flower)
Accessories: Daisies die, Petals a Plenty punch, Brights button, 1/4" Daffodil ribbon, Lucky Limeade bakers twine, Tiny Tag punch, Scallop Edge punch, Honeycomb EF

Stylish Sympathy

Boy, oh boy....I have had a time with this post!  Something inexplicably happened to my browse button when trying to upload photos to my blog post.  After much searching for answers and solutions, it was suggested to try posting using Google Chrome. I found that I actually had Google Chrome on my computer which worked.  I usually posted in regular old Google...apparently.  Now, I am not the most computer savvy person on the planet, in fact, I don't know much about them at all.  Most of my learning has come by trial and error.  I was totally panicking when I couldn't post a photo!  Thank goodness I was finally able to figure it out....I think!
Anyway, back to this card.  This one is for a brand new challenge site called Still addINKtive.  The very first challenge combines a color combo and a sketch.
I used my Elements of Style set and played with the spotlight technique.  I neglected to write down the color combo and used Old Olive instead of Wild Wasabi and Pool Party in the place of Baja Breeze.  I knew it was a green and a blue....
I used the little square die from the Apothecary Accents framelits and turned it on it's side to make a diagonal.  I watercolored the images and added pearls to the flowers. The background was embossed with my Lacy Brocade EF and sponged with some Crumb Cake ink.  I added some Vanilla Seam Binding ribbon and a little tag with the sentiment on it.

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: Elements of Style, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Pool Party, Sahara Sand, Perfect Plum, White
Ink: Pool Party, Old Olive, Perfect Plum, Crumb Cake
Accessories: Vanilla Seam Binding ribbon, Pearls, Apothecary Accent die, Tiny Tag punch, Lacy Brocade EF, Linen thread

Newlywed Sparkle ~ CCMC232 & NAC27

2012 Create Thursday-012Nac27
The minute I laid eyes on this color combo, my mind went right to a wedding theme.  I thought the silver glimmer might look cute as the champagne in the glasses, so that was where I started.  I used the sketch from NAC this week.  The glasses were fussy cut and popped off the embossed tag with dimentionals.  The card top is popped off the base as well.
I used my Score Tool Diagonal plate to create the top panel and then topped it off with some rhinestones.  I decided to add the ruffled ribbon to make it a little more soft and fancy.

Here's a list of supplies.....
Stamps: Happy Hour, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: White, Pool Party and PP Dsp, Silver Glimmer
Ink: Pool Party
Accessories: Rhinestones, Diagonal Score Tool, Polkadot EF, Ruffled Ribbon, Dotted Scallop Border punch, Dimentionals

Thanks for taking a peek and Happy New Year!

Eleanor Birdie Birthday - FMS55, JAI138, & PP115

Today's card combines three challenges.  Freshly Made Sketches 55, Just Add Ink 138, and The Paper Players 115.  JAI138 is a color challenge using Basic Gray, Summer Starfruit, and White.  The Paper Players is a tic tac toe challenge (which I think is so fun!) and I chose to use Birthday/Gray & Yellow/Ribbon.

I used a new set from SU called Everything Eleanore.  This set has a lot of different stamps that are very versatile. This is one of the cards I'll be using for an adult education class that I teach.  It's pretty simple and staight forward.

Here's a list of supplies I used....
Stamps: Everything Eleanore, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Gray, Summer Starfruit, Gray DP
Ink: Same as paper
Accessories: Lattice border punch (Martha Stewart), Summer Starfruit ribbon, 1 3/4" circle punch, Blossom die, Banner die, Square Lattice EF

Snowflury Sparkle - NAC13 & CCMC220

Well, I FINALLY got around to ordering my christmas stamps and supplies from the new holiday catalog.  My order came two days ago, so I dove right in and made this card for Nacho Average Challenge 13 and Create With Connie and Mary Color Challenge 220
Nac13sketch2012 Create Challenges-036
I made 6 of these to give to my best girlfriends.  I love these colors together for christmas and the addition of the Pink Pirouette makes it so girly.  I love, love, love the glittery paper for the snowflakes...it is so eyecatching!  I stamped the Baja Breeze backround piece with one of my new stamp sets called Snowflake Soiree.  The snowflakes in this set are so elegant, and paired with the embossed tag (embossed with my new Holiday Frame EF) kicks it up another notch.  The sentiment is from another of my new sets called Teeny Tiny wishes.

Here's a list of all the supplies I used....
Stamps: Snowflake Soiree, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette, Cherry Cobbler, Silver Sparkle
Ink: Baja Breeze, Cherry Cobbler
Accessories: Cherry Cobbler dotted scallop ribbon, Baja Breeze courderoy brad, Holilday Frame EF, Snow Flury die, Large oval punch

Thanks for taking a peek and have a fantastic day!
