Zach's 21st ~ Fusion Create

Hey stampers!  Today is a pretty special day for my middle son Zachary--He turns 21 today!  I made this special card for him using the inspiration and sketch from Fusion Card Challenge.  I thought the inspiration photo would lend itself nicely to a masculine card.

Now Zach is not a partier, but when you think of a 21st birthday you always think about being able to drink legally.  We are going out for supper tonight and I imagine he'll have a legal drink and be able to pull out his license to show that he is legal!
I used the sentiment "party time" from {Happy Birthday Gorgeous}.
The sentiment on the inside is from a retired set called {Happy Hour}.  I cut the "21" twice, once with Wood Textures DSP and once with vellum and then I layered them.  I spritzed the whole thing with Shimmer Spritz for a more a subtle celebration feel.

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Happy Hour
Ink: Basic Gray
Paper: Black, Smokey Slate, Basic Gray, Vellum, Wood Textures DSP, (Black and White scrap from retired card pack)
Accessories: Large Numbers Framelits, Subtle TIEF, Champagne Shimmer Spritz

Making Spirits Bright and Shiny ~ PP273 & WWC45

Hello and happy Wednesday to all my stamper friends!
Today's card takes in two challenges....
The Paper Players tic-tac-toe challenge and Watercooler Wednesday sketch.
I just love the tic-tac-toe challenges...they are so fun to play along with!  I chose Tree, Sparkle or Shine, and Patterned Paper.
This card definitely has shine!!!  I wish the pictures did it justice!  It is so shiny in real life with the foil trees, red foil paper and shiny silver ribbon!  there's a bit of sparkle in there as well with the red glimmer paper.
It's such a simple card but packs a ton of punch with all the shine!

This is the first time I've been able to participte in the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and I'm excited!

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: Among the Branches, Happy Hour

Paper: White, Cucumber Crush, Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum, Red Foil, Red Glimmer

I've been wanting to make the christmas-y drink from Happy Hour for some time now.  I like the way it turned out.  My son was bouncing a ball in the house and of course it bounced right on my card and bent it up right before I took the photo of it.  Shoot!  LOL!

Lana's BIG Birthday! NAC52 & PPA161

My sister-in-law turns 50 in a couple days, so I made this card for her.  I just got a new box of goodies in the mail, including the Chalk Talk stamps and it couldn't have been more perfect.  Turning 50 IS a big day!  I used the sketch from Pals Paper Arts 161 (which I missed the cut-off for....oh well)  and the colors from Nacho Average Challenge 52.  It's been a while since I've got to play there, so I'm happy!

I added in a little drink from Happy Hour, along with the strawberry and umbrella to accomodate the color combo.  This ties in nicely with the theme of my SIL's birthday.  I'm possitive there will be some drinks like this served.  I added Crystal Effects to the glass.  My Crystal Effects must be getting old, because it looks a little cloudy.  I'm not real happy about that.....
I also added some glitter glue to the umbrella and strawberry.

Here's a list of the supplies....
Stamps: Chalk Talk, Positively Chevron, Happy Hour
Paper: Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, Sent With Love DSP
Ink: White Craft, Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, Pool Party
Accessories: White EP, Big Dot EF, 1 3/8" circle punch, Circle #2 die, Crystal Effects, Glitter glue

Island drinks ~ DD34 & MOJO274

Good Saturday morning everyone and welcome back to Dynamic Duos Challenges!  We've had a nice little break for the Holidays, but now it's time to get our stamp on again!  This week the colors are super fun and really said "let's go have a drink on some beach some where and then go dancing" to me!  I was definitely inspired to pull out my Happy Hour set and get going!  I also used the sketch from Mojo Monday and flipped it on it's side.  I added a little bit of glitter to the drink, umbrella and strawberry.

My post is very, very late today, but I'm having some issues with Blogger.  It's a miracle that I got this one picture posted.  I have a couple other pictures to post of this card, but I don't think it's gonna happen.  I hope the problem resolves itself before my next post!  It's so frustrating when things don't go the way you want them to!
Here's a list of my supplies:
Stamps: Happy Hour
Paper: Melon Mambo, Island Indigo, White
Ink: Melon Mambo, Island Indigo, Pool Party
Accessories: Dazzling Diamonds, White Grosgrain ribbon, Melon Mambo Pom Pom trim, Big Designer Button, Circle cutting system from Creative Memories, Fancy Fan EF

Thanks for taking a peek and have a wonderful day!

Newlywed Sparkle ~ CCMC232 & NAC27

2012 Create Thursday-012Nac27
The minute I laid eyes on this color combo, my mind went right to a wedding theme.  I thought the silver glimmer might look cute as the champagne in the glasses, so that was where I started.  I used the sketch from NAC this week.  The glasses were fussy cut and popped off the embossed tag with dimentionals.  The card top is popped off the base as well.
I used my Score Tool Diagonal plate to create the top panel and then topped it off with some rhinestones.  I decided to add the ruffled ribbon to make it a little more soft and fancy.

Here's a list of supplies.....
Stamps: Happy Hour, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: White, Pool Party and PP Dsp, Silver Glimmer
Ink: Pool Party
Accessories: Rhinestones, Diagonal Score Tool, Polkadot EF, Ruffled Ribbon, Dotted Scallop Border punch, Dimentionals

Thanks for taking a peek and Happy New Year!

Three Shades of Sparkling Wine - RS22 & PP106

This is my second post for the day, but I needed to get this in for Retro Sketches 22.  This card also plays along with The Paper Players 106, which is a tic tac toe challenge.  The tic tac toe challenges are always so much fun.  I chose to go with Birthday, Ribbon, & Dry Embossing
My sister-in-law has a birthday on Saturday, so this one's for her.  She's a stamper too, and I know she appreciates all that goes into handmade cards.
I knew I wanted to use colors from the new In-Color Collection from SU.  While browsing the pack, I noticed that the Primrose Petal and Raspberry Ripple sort of reminded me of wine colors.  Aha!  I could use my Happy Hour set and do a wine themed card!  I picked Bravo Burgandy as a third color and set to work coming up with this little gem.  I also knew I wanted to use this wide striped black ribbon for the ribbon element in the PP challenge, so that's where the black trim comes in.

I made a paper rosette to take place of the button in the sketch and added a rhinestone brad to the center.  I carried the sparkle of the brad through to the little rhinestones on the wine glasses.
Here's a list of supplies I used....
Stamps: Happy Hour
Paper: Bravo Burgandy, Raspberry Ripple, Primrose Petal, Vanilla, Black
Ink: Black, Bravo Burgandy, Raspberry Ripple, Primrose Petal
Accessories: Rhinestone stickers, Rhinestone brad, Scallop Border punch, Black Striped ribbon, Perfect Polka Dots, Square Lattice, and other EF

Olive Happy Hour - FMS44 & CTD201

I absolutely love this new set from Stampin' Up called Happy Hour.  It's got so many cute images.  I'm not a big drinker, (maybe a glass of wine every now and then and even then it has to be sweet), but they've made all these fun little images that are soooooo fun to play with.  I'm sending this card to my baby brother, who turns 24 this month.  He likes drinks like this and he lives 2,000 miles away from me, so I think this whole thing is appropriate for him.  Plus, the colors and style feel a little masculine maybe.

Here's a list of supplies......
Stamps: Happy Hour
Paper: Riding Hood Red, More Mustard, Gumball Green, So Saffron DP
Ink: So Saffron, Gumball Green, Riding Hood Red
Accessories: Circle cutter, Circles #2 die, Button die, Rhinestones, Riding Hood Red ribbon. White string
Thanks for taking a peek!

Ice Tea Cheers - RS18 & CR84FN84

Today's card is for Retro Sketches 18 (and by the way, I can't get over that it's been 18 weeks already since this challenge site launched!) & CR84FN 84.

This is the first card I've made with my brand new set Happy Hour.  Isn't this a fun little set....I've got so many ideas!
I stuck pretty close to the sketch drawing, not really tweeking anything, but on the color challenge, my neutral is a little darker than the original color palette.

I stamped the ice tea glass once on the white cardstock, then again on a scrap peice.  I cut out the drink part and added the lemon and straw.  It's all in the details!  It's very hard to see in the photo, but I embossed the bottom red panel with a large polka-dot embossing folder.  I also decorated the inside of the card.....

Here's a list of my supplies......
Stamps: Happy Hour
Paper: Real Red, Soft Suede, White, Sunny Days DP
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Soft Suede
Accessories: Large Polka-dot EF, Neutrals buttons, White string, Notebook Tab punch
