Ohhhhh, I just love Penguins!!!  You might be able to tell that by my watermark :)
I was thrilled to find out that Merry Monday's Penguin challenge was a two week challenge!  I didn't have time to participate last week, but wanted to sooo bad!
I used the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and the color combo from Color Throwdown as well.

I

My little penguin is from an old set from 2006 called {Polar Pals}.  I just love it!

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Shaker Ship ~ CTD332, RS156, & JUGS283

Happy Sunday everyone!  Today's card combines three challenges....Color Throwdown 332, Retro Sketches 156, and Just Us Girls 283.

This was one of those cards that came together with little effort.  It looks exactly like it did in my head.  When I saw the combo at Color Throwdown, I knew I could use the Maritime DSP, which is perfect!  That would mean a nautical theme of some sort, so I chose the ship from the {Traveler} set.  Then, when I saw the sketch at Retro Sketches, I thought it would be perfect for a shaker.  Bing, bang, boom....done!  The theme at JUGS is masculine and I'd say this fits.  I chose a celebration theme because when a shaker is involved it screams fun!

I tried to make the circle look like a gold porthole by using brushed gold cardstock and placing punched gold circles for the rivets.  I also "sprinkled" some Champage Shimmer stars in amongst the the captains wheels and anchors to tie things together.

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: Traveler, And Many More
Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento; Navy & Red Blendabilities
Paper: Night of Navy, Maritime Dsp, Bushed Gold, Real Red, White
Accessories: Word Window Punch, Confetti Stars punch, Circle thinlits, Small hand-held punch, Modern Label punch, foam tape

CTD 324 ~ Guest Stamper!

Good Morning stampers!  More exciting news for me....I'm a guest stamper at Color Throwdown this week!  WhooHoo!!!
The color combo for the week is red, black and white.

I used this guy from the new Occasions Catalog set {Wood You Be Mine}....he has captured my heart!  As soon as I laid eyes on this set I knew he would be mine!  LOL!
I drew a little inspiration from the snowy scene picture and made a snowy treeline as one of the panels on my card.  The DSP is from the new paper stack {Stacked With Love}.  It's packed with lots and lots of cool paper for Valentine's cards...or whatever else tickles your fancy.

I colored my lumberjack with blendability markers, fussy cut him out and perched him on top of the cute log.
This was such a fun card to put together and I can't wait to create with this guy a little more!

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: Wood You Be Mine
Ink: Memento Black; Cherry Cobbler, Smokey Slate & Flesh Tones Blendabilites markers; Stazon White
Paper: Stacked With Love DSP, Black, White, Real Red
Accessories: Three Heart punch, Sweet Dreams designer buttons, Linen Thread, dimesionals

Case This Color Throwdown ~ CTS103 & CTD322

This card is for CASE This Sketch 103 and Color Throwdown 322.

I started with a piece of Trim the Tree DSP that closely matched the colors of Color Throwdown.  To make the 3-D poinsettia I punched out a bunch of petals from the Blossom Builder punch, scored a line down the middle of each one and gave them a little dimension.  I then built them up around a large glue dot.  I kept layering until I thought it looked good.

The "Very Merry" sentiment I add is very hard to see in the photo, especially with the shadow cast by the flower. :)

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: And Many More
Ink: Soft Sky
Paper: Garden Green, Real Red, Crisp Cantaloupe, Trim the Tree and Winter Frost DSP
Accessories: Silver metal button, Stitched white ribbon, In color sequins, Blossom Builder punch

My Card For Danny ~ CTD301 & JAI223

Little Danny Nickerson is battling brain cancer.  He is about to turn 6years old.  His wish for his birthday was to receive lots of cards.  I made this for him and will be mailing it off today.  Here's a link to the news story about Danny....maybe you could mail him a card too!  His address is:
Danny Nickerson
P.O. Box 212
Foxboro, MA 02035

I used a couple different challenges to create this card.  The color challenge from Color Throwdown 301 and the sketch from Just Add Ink 223.

Since Danny is only turning 6, I wanted to use a fun, animal image.  I stamped on DSP and used the paper piecing technique, plus popped some of the images and sentiment up to add some fun.  I'm sure he'll love each and every card he receives.  I'm sure his family would appreciate prayers too!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DANNY!!!!

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: Life in the Forest, Hardwood, So Happy For You
Ink: Crumb Cake, Memento Black, Tangelo Twist
Paper: Soft Sky, Smoky Slate, White, Crumb Cake; Moonlight, Fresh Prints, & Sweater Weather DSP

Change the World Grad ~ CTD293

This is another graduation card that I made for Color Throwdown 293, which uses Tangerine Tango, Pear Pizzaz, and Soft Sky.

This is not generally a color scheme that I would gravitate towards, but I thought it'd be nice for a guy graduation.

I used a pretty basic layout, but jazzed it up with a few embellishments.

Here's a list of my supplies....

Stamps: Something to Say, World Map
Paper: Tangerine Tango, Silver Fancy Foil Vellum, Soft Sky, Sweater Weather DSP, White
Ink: Pear Pizzaz, Tangerine Tango
Accessories: Pear Pizzaz bakers twine, Itty Bitty Accents punch pack, Rhinestones, Windows Framelits die, Hardware Clips

Flamingo Bunch ~ CTD288 & JAI211

This is the last flamingo card that my friend requested.  I used the color combo from Color Throwdown 288 and the sketch from Just Add Ink 211.

I started out by stamping a bunch of flamingos, masking some off.  I originally wanted to use the sentiment "thanks a bunch", but as I looked through my stash I didn't have anything that said that....I really thought in my head that I did!  I settled on the "thanks much" from Six Sided Sampler.  I'm pleased with the outcome, although I think "thanks a bunch" would have been much cuter!

Here's a list of my supplies....
Supplies for this card
Stamps: Six Sided Sampler, Chevron, flamingo I bought from Ebay
Paper: Basic Gray, White, Gumball Green, Smokey Slate, Melon Mambo DSP
Ink: Melon Mambo, Gumball Green, Smokey Slate
Accessories: Photo Corner punch, 1 3/4" circle punch, rhinestones, edgelits

XOXO ~ CTD277, SSC68, CMCC5, Card Concept2

I used the color combo from Color Throwdown but it also fits into Color Me which asks to use any five colors...mine are Baked Brown Sugar, Blushing Bride, White, Soft Sky, Gold, and Champagne Glimmer.  The card concept calls for texture on your card and mine was added in the form of the embossed Hardwood and dry embossed banner (which I rubbed with gold ink to make the texture stand out even more).  I guess my card would be classified as Clean and Layered....even though it has some sponging.  I don't think it fits under the heading of Shabby Chic.....hmmm.

Can we talk about the Hardwood stamp for a second????  This is such an amazing image!  I have not seen one project made with it that I don't like.  It's so versatile!  It can go girly, like this card, or obviously masculine.  I adore!!!!

Supplies for this card
Stamps: Hearts a flutter, Hardwood, Chevron

Paper: Baked Brown Sugar, Soft Sky, Blushing Bride

Ink: Baked Brown Sugar, White Craft, metallic Gold

Accessories: Thinlits die, Hearts a Flutter die, Pretty Prints EF, Square punch, White EP

Colorful Santa ~ MOJO322, JAI194, & CTD271

Good Morning stampers!  We are inching closer and closer to Christmas....I've been working on cards here and there, but have not had a chance to sit down and participate in many challenges for about a week now.  Finally, I found time to  make this little gem, which incorporates the sketch from Mojo Monday, Santa from Just Add Ink, and the colors from Color Throwdown.
JAI 194

I've never really been interested in any sort of Santa stuff until I saw some projects made with this Santa stamp.  He's the first Santa I've owned!  I've sure had fun creating with him....most of it has been CAS's.  There are a lot of people out there with some great ideas and I'm sure grateful that they share!

Here's a list of supplies I used....
Stamps: Santa's List
Paper: Black, Cherry Cobbler, Primrose Petals DSP, Pear Pizzazz
Ink: Stazon Black, Cherry Cobbler, Primrose Petals, Pear Pizzazz, Smokey Slate, Crumb Cake, Pink Pirouette
Accessories: Labels Framelits die, Cherry seam binding ribbon, Blender pen, Frosted Finishes embellishment, glitter glue, Pretty Print EF

Bright and Bold and Fun! ~ PPA168 & CTD255

I've always loved and wanted to make a card with the main colors being Pacific Point and Melon Mambo...Color Throwdown provided that chance....only they had to throw a curveball and add Tangerine Tango. :(  I struggled to get it added in there, but I suppose it works.  Also, I didn't have Pixie Pink, so I subbed in Pretty in Pink.
I love the flowers in the Too Kind set.  They are so easy to use and really make a bold statement!  It's a real fun flower set.

Pals came up with a great sketch this week....it's so very versatile!  There are many great example in the gallery with tons of inspiration!
I kind of took on a polka dot theme with this card.  Big polka dots embossed on the blue base, ribbon and DSP and of course the little polka dot embossed butterfly.

Stamps: Too Kind, Chalk Talk
Paper: Tempting Turquoise DSP (Pawsatively Prints), Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango, Melon Mambo, White
Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point, Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink, Tangerine Tango, Pistachio Pudding
Accessories: Beautiful Wings embosslits, Melon Mambo polka dot ribbon, Big Dot EF, Circle punches, Circles Famelits, rhinestones, Scallop Border punch

Beach Bird ~ CTD248, Fusion13, FM116

I have to tell you that I am absolutely in love with this card!  I'm jus so pleased with the way it turned out!!!!  I combined a few different challenges here:  Color Throwdown 248 using Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Cool Carribean, and Pretty in Pink; Fusion Challenge 13 which incorporates the bird and the sketch; and The Friday Mashup which calls for a beach scene and masking.  It was so much fun to create!

I started by cutting a 3 1/8" vanilla circle and and 3 3/8" Crumb Cake circle.  I masked the top of the vanilla circle and sponged on some Cool Carribean ink.  Next, I punched a 3/4" circle and placed it in the "sky".  I masked off the water and sponged Pretty in Pink on the sky.  I pulled of the masked circle and there was the sun! Next, I stamped on some beach foliage and sentiment from Too Kind in Crumb Cake ink.  The foliage stamp is one I purchased from Hobby Lobby.  I adhered the beach scene circle to the Crumb Cake circle and moved onto the bird.  I punched a Very Vanilla bird and a wing with my bird builder punch, trimmed down the belly (because seagulls are a little trimmer than the fat little bird builder), and sponged on some Crumb Cake ink.  I added a pearl for the eye and cut a couple thin strips of Crumb Cake for it's legs.  Next, I made the wood pillars using some Woodland Walk DSP (retired). I cut 1" strips, one a tad shorter than the other, and used a corner rounder punch at the top of each.  After I rounded the corners, I trimmed off the top to make them flat, then I wrapped them with twine.
The last step was to make the background.  I stamped a peice of Very Vanilla with the Cheesecloth background stamp in Pretty in Pink ink.  I ran it through my Big Shot with a grass-looking embossing folder.  It is from Cuttlebug and has no name.  It's a little hard to see in the photo, but it adds just a little extra textured detail.  A little strip of frayed Natural Trim and my card was complete!

Stamps: Too Kind, Cheesecloth, Foliage from Hobby Lobby
Paper: Cool Carribean, Pretty In Pink, Very Vanilla, Woodland Walk DSP
Ink: Cool Carribean, Pretty In Pink, Crumb Cake
Accessories: Bird Builder Punch, Natural Trim, Twine, Circle Cutting System, Pearl, 3/4" circle punch, Cuttlebug EF, Corner Rounder punch
