Foxy Baby ~ HSS243, JUGS353

Hello stampers!  It's Tuesday and time for another Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge.  Challenge #243 is a sketch.
I just received my {Foxy Friends} stamp set, along with the Fox Builder punch so I thought I'd put it to use right away.  I chose to use the color scheme from Just Us Girls photo challenge #353.  I think the colors are the perfect fit for this little guy.  I was also going to participate in the Addicted to CAS "Welcome" challenge but then I realized that my card is neither clean or simple!  Oh well!

My card doesn't follow the sketch exactly, but sometimes I like a loose interpretation!

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: Foxy Friends, And Many More
Ink: Black, Early Espresso, Dapper Denim, Pumpkin Pie, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive
Paper: Peekaboo Peach, Pumpkin Pie, Very Vanilla, Dapper Denim
Accessories: Fox Builder punch, Petal Burst EF, Burlap Ribbon, Striped Grosgrain ribbon

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Green Northern Lights ~ CMCC62, CAS(E)113, JUGS283

Hello stampers!  It's Colour Me Wednesday!  This week we've got a striking color combo for you....Garden Green and Pear Pizzaz, plus a neutral if you want.  I acutally added two neutrals to my card....black and twine.  I sort of loosely used the sketch from CAS(E)113 (which I flipped on it's side) and am also entering this card into JUGS283 which has a masculine theme this week.

The first time I had seen the the Northern Lights Technique was on this card made by Heidi Baks! I absolutely fell in love with it the moment I saw it!  I definitely had to try it for myself and ended up making this card.  If you want to try out the technique for yourself, check out the tutorial here at Splitcoaststampers.
When researching real northern lights, a lot of times they show up in shades of green only.  I thought that this color challenge would be a great time to highlight this technique again!
I have to say that I am lucky to live in a part of the world in which I can actually see the northern lights dancing in the sky every now and then!  They truly are a beautiful sight in person.

I know that CAS(E) this sketch is supposed to be a clean and simple challenge site, but try as I might I just have the hardest time making a CAS card!  Also, the bear stamp is from an older Close To My Heart set called Nature's Gift.

Make sure you hop over to the other Colour Me designer's blogs and leave them some love for their neat projects!

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: Natures gift (CTMH), Ornamental Pine, Wetlands
Ink: Pear Pizzaz, Garden Green, Black, Baked Brown Sugar
Accessories: In color sequins, Linen thread, Burlap ribbon, gel pen

Shaker Ship ~ CTD332, RS156, & JUGS283

Happy Sunday everyone!  Today's card combines three challenges....Color Throwdown 332, Retro Sketches 156, and Just Us Girls 283.

This was one of those cards that came together with little effort.  It looks exactly like it did in my head.  When I saw the combo at Color Throwdown, I knew I could use the Maritime DSP, which is perfect!  That would mean a nautical theme of some sort, so I chose the ship from the {Traveler} set.  Then, when I saw the sketch at Retro Sketches, I thought it would be perfect for a shaker.  Bing, bang, boom....done!  The theme at JUGS is masculine and I'd say this fits.  I chose a celebration theme because when a shaker is involved it screams fun!

I tried to make the circle look like a gold porthole by using brushed gold cardstock and placing punched gold circles for the rivets.  I also "sprinkled" some Champage Shimmer stars in amongst the the captains wheels and anchors to tie things together.

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: Traveler, And Many More
Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento; Navy & Red Blendabilities
Paper: Night of Navy, Maritime Dsp, Bushed Gold, Real Red, White
Accessories: Word Window Punch, Confetti Stars punch, Circle thinlits, Small hand-held punch, Modern Label punch, foam tape

Autumn Lovely Tree ~ PPA177 & JUGS212

I made this card for Pals Paper Arts 177 sketch challenge. This also works for Just Us Girls photo inspiration challenge 212.  For some reason I couldn't get the JUGS challenge photo to appear on my post.  You'll have to jump on over to the site to see the photo...it's pretty!
PPA177
The sketch is pretty simple and lends itself to all kinds of ideas.  I'm on fall kick, trying to come up with simple cards to do for my card classes.  I wanted to try some water coloring with my class, which is so easy and fun to do.  I started by cutting the big tag from Chalk Talk die set out of watercolor paper.  I stamped the tree in black Stazon ink and then watercolored using my aquapainter.  It's so super simple!!!
I sponged all the edges with Baked Brown Sugar ink and topped the tag with a looped piece of Burlap Ribbon and a Naturals Button.  I layered it on a piece of Tangerine Tango CS after I ran it through the Big Shot with the tree bark EF.  I also sponged it with a bit of BBS ink.  Lastly, I stamped the BBS card base with the wood look stamp from Truly Grateful and added a little banner made from Sweater Weather DSP.

Here's a list of my supplies....

Stamps: Lovely As A Tree, Truly Grateful
Paper: Baked Brown Sugar, Tangerine Tango, Watercolor, Sweater Weather DSP
Ink: Black Stazon, Baked Brown Sugar
Accessories: Naturals Designer button, Chalk Talk die, Woodgrain EF, Burlap Ribbon

Vintage Layered Labels - CCMC212, JUGS148, & FM69

Oh my, I am in love with this card!  And, the fact that it takes in THREE challenges makes me giddy!!!  :)  This card includes Create with Connie and Mary Challenge 212, Just Us Girls Challenge 148, & The Friday Mashup 69

2012 Create Challenges-028

I started out with the concept from The Friday Mashup, which was to create a vintage project and add a pin.  I've never used a pin on my cards before, so this was a new one for me.  I decided the vintage colors I'd use would be from Create with Connie and Mary, only I don't have any Sahara Sand so I subbed in Crumb Cake.  Next, I used the sketch from Just Us Girls.  This card came together fairly fast, believe it or not!  It looks like there's a bunch of stuff going on, but once I put all three challenges together it just took shape!

The sponging, ribbons, and the crumpled flower, along with the main image scream vintage.  I added in the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder (what else would you use for a vintage project???) and the flocked designer paper from the Mocha Morning pack to the backround for more, more, and more vintage.  There is a little strip of black satin ribbon separating the two backround layers, but that's kinda hard to see in the photos.

Here's a list of the supplies I used.....
Stamps: Layered Labels
Paper: Black, Crumb Cake, Red, First Edition & Mocha Morning DP
Ink: Black, Crumb Cake, Red, Suede
Accessories: Birds & Bloom die, Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Vanilla Seam Bind ribbon, Crochet ribbon, Black Satin ribbon, Pretties Kit, Latte button, Little Leaves die, Pearls, Vintage Wallpaper EF

American Made - JUGS141

Just Us Girls' Challenge 141 is a red, white and blue color challenge.
I've seen these 3-D stars around different places and always wondered how they were made.  While browsing Pinterest the other day I stumbled upon a tutorial on how do make them and boy is it simple!  I got this idea to make a flag card, and then I saw the JUGS challenge.  What a perfect match!  I love it when things work out like that!

Because this card is so simple and has little for embelishments, I embossed the blue square in a big polka-dot EF and the red strips in the Square Lattice EF.  With the 3-D star, this adds texture and visual interest.  I added a sentiment from Close To My Heart.

Stamps: You're a Star (CTMH)
Paper: Night of Navy, Real Red, White
Ink: Night of Navy
Accessories: Stars #2 Die, Polka-dot & Square Lattice EF

Triple Threat Number Two!

The JUGS Technique Challenge was to create a layer using the "sponge a layer" technique. If you hop over to their website there's a link for a "how to" on this technique.

I decided to use the Mojo Monday Sketch 237 again, because I thought it matched up well with the sponging layer technique. I also incorporated the colors of Kermit (green, pink and red) from Friday Mashup 54. I know the colors aren't bright like Kermit, but they are in the color family! I had so much fun creating this combo challenge card!

Stamps: Fabulous Florets, Faith In Nature
Paper: Vanilla
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Cerry Cobbler, Always Artichoke
Accessories: Artichoke seam binding ribbon, designer button, pretty in pink 1/8" ribbon, Artichoke brads

Sparkle Floral Fusion - JUGS 128 & SSC 247

This pretty card is for Just Us Girls Challenge 128 using soft pink, moss green and cream.  I also used the Saturday Sketch Challenge 247 sketch from Stamping 411.

I used the Floral Fusion die and sprayed all three flowers with sparkle mist, then added a half pearl in the center of each.  I also layed each flower out on my soft mat pack mat and used a stylus, rolling it around in circles, to break down the fibers in the paper giving the flowers a little shape.  I also wanted to incorporate some of the newest ribbon I bought, this neat braided pearl ribbon from Wal-Mart.  It looks antique-ish and I thought it would go nice with this color scheme, plus it was perfect for the little band for the bottom of the main panel on the sketch.
Here's a list of supplies I used......
Stamps: Itty Bitty Backrounds, Field Flowers
Paper: Mellow Moss, Pretty In Pink, Vanilla
Ink: Sahara Sand
Accessories: Champagne Shimmer mist, 1/2 pearls, Floral Fusion die, Tulip Border EF, Modern Label punch, Medium Oval punch, braided pearl ribbon (walmart)
