Pink Pinecones ~ CCMC483, PP369

Hello stampers!  I had recently seen a post by another stamper and the main color of her Christmas card was Powder Pink.  At the time I thought to myself that I've neglected Powder Pink and I should think about making a Christmas card with that color.  Well, enter Create with Connie and Mary Challenge #483-- low and behold the current color challenge uses Powder Pink along with Pool Party and Night of Navy!  What a wonderful combination.
Also recently I had seen some pink pinecones which I thought were so pretty and interesting and then low and behold the Paper Players current challenge asks us to use holiday pines!
This was kismet for me!!!
I love the way my pink pinecones and blue pine bows turned out!  I added a little bit of silver in there to create a bit of shimmer and shine as well!
Also, I brought back the sketch from last week's Create with Connie and Mary Challenge!

I hope to see you playing along with us at the Create with Connie and Mary facebook page.
Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Green Northern Lights ~ CMCC62, CAS(E)113, JUGS283

Hello stampers!  It's Colour Me Wednesday!  This week we've got a striking color combo for you....Garden Green and Pear Pizzaz, plus a neutral if you want.  I acutally added two neutrals to my card....black and twine.  I sort of loosely used the sketch from CAS(E)113 (which I flipped on it's side) and am also entering this card into JUGS283 which has a masculine theme this week.

The first time I had seen the the Northern Lights Technique was on this card made by Heidi Baks! I absolutely fell in love with it the moment I saw it!  I definitely had to try it for myself and ended up making this card.  If you want to try out the technique for yourself, check out the tutorial here at Splitcoaststampers.
When researching real northern lights, a lot of times they show up in shades of green only.  I thought that this color challenge would be a great time to highlight this technique again!
I have to say that I am lucky to live in a part of the world in which I can actually see the northern lights dancing in the sky every now and then!  They truly are a beautiful sight in person.

I know that CAS(E) this sketch is supposed to be a clean and simple challenge site, but try as I might I just have the hardest time making a CAS card!  Also, the bear stamp is from an older Close To My Heart set called Nature's Gift.

Make sure you hop over to the other Colour Me designer's blogs and leave them some love for their neat projects!

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: Natures gift (CTMH), Ornamental Pine, Wetlands
Ink: Pear Pizzaz, Garden Green, Black, Baked Brown Sugar
Accessories: In color sequins, Linen thread, Burlap ribbon, gel pen

It's All About the Banner ~ SSC90

This card is for Sunday Stamps Challenge 90, which is a fun sketch this week.

It's all about the banner and I chose to go with the fun Christmas designer papers from the Trim the Tree stack.  This card came together super fast....it would be a good one to mass produce.  The corduroy button is an oldie but a goodie from days gone by.  I really loved those buttons and brads!  The "Merry" expressions thinlit adds a nice layer and ties together with the Christmas Wishes sentiment from Oranmental Pine.

Here's a list of my supplies...

Stamps: Ornamental Pine
Ink: Garden Green
Paper: White, Trim The Tree DSP
Accessories: White bakers twine, Expressions Thinlits, Corduroy brad

Thanks for taking a peek!

Northern Lights Copy Cat ~ The Friday Mashup 187

You know that saying imitation is the sincerest form of flattery?  Well, when I saw this card by Heidi Baks I fell in love with it and just had to give the technique a try for myself.  She wonderfully  executed the technique and her inspiration picture.  Here is a link to the Northern Lights tutorial, so you can give it a try for yourself....it's so fun!
Anyway, I'm gonna be a copy cat and submit my card to the Friday Mashup 187 weather challenge.

I like it when I can be original, but sometimes when something is just so good, you  gotta follow the trend!
Here's a list of my supplies.....

Stamps: Ornamental Pine, Lovely as a Tree
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi, Strawberry Slush, Night of Navy, Black
Paper: Night of Navy, White, Black
Accessories: sponges, daubers, white gel pen

Silver Ornament ~ Merry Monday 134 & NAC115

This card is for Merry Monday 134, which challenges us to use an ornament and silver and blue colors.  I also used the sketch from Nacho Average Challenge 115.

I flipped the sketch around on it's side.
For the blue colors, I went with Island Indigo and Pool Party DSP from the last years Winter Frost pack. Island Indigo and Pool Party sound more summery than winter, LOL!
I looked around to see what I had for ornament stamps and the only thing I could come up with was the little one that comes in the Ornamental Pine set.  I embossed it with silver embossing powder and hung it from some Smokey Slate ribbon with a Frosted Finish embellishment at the top.  I used a sentiment from More Merry Messages that I thought went perfect with an ornament card.

Here's a list of all my supplies....
Stamps: Ornamental Pine, More Merry Messages
Ink: Island Indigo, Versamark
Paper: Island Indigo, Winter Frost DSP, White, Silver Glimmer
Accessories: Silver EP, Frosted Finishes, Smokey Slate 1/4" ribbon, Scallop Border punch

Thanks for taking a peek!

Lovely Christmas ~ Merry Monday & Stampin Royalty

Good morning stampers!  This unconventional Christmas card is for Merry Monday 121 & Stampin' Royalty 241.  Merry Monday called for using pinecones, greens, and plaid ribbon.  Stampin' Royalty is a glitter challenge.
Wear Our Badge
I started by inking the trees from Lovely As A Tree at the bottom of the card in Midnight Muse ink, then I stamped the ink off once before I stamped on my white cardstock.  Next, I sponged Blushing Bride down the middle of the card, came in with some Soft Sky next, then Pool Party and finally just a little bit of Marina Mist around the edges.  I stamped the new Ornamental Pine evergreen image in Midnight Muse and then added the fussy cut pine cones from the same set.  I stamped off one time with Midnight Muse and then sponged them with some Pool Party.
Using my glue pen, I dotted some snowflakes and then covered them with Dazzling Diamonds.  I also glittered around the bottoms of the trees to mimic snow.
Lastly, I added the sentiment from Come To Bethlehem (retired) on a sponged banner-cut piece, and a little bow from some ancient pink gingham ribbon that I have had forever and ever.
The inspiration for this card came from a Vintage Christmas card that I spotted over on Pinterest.  I love that site!!!!

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: Ornamental Pine, Come to Bethlehem, Lovely As A Tree
Ink: Blushing Bride, Midnight Muse, Pool Party, Soft Sky, Marina Mist
Paper: Pool Party, White
Accessories: Dazzling Diamonds, Pink Gingham ribbon
