Zach's 21st ~ Fusion Create

Hey stampers!  Today is a pretty special day for my middle son Zachary--He turns 21 today!  I made this special card for him using the inspiration and sketch from Fusion Card Challenge.  I thought the inspiration photo would lend itself nicely to a masculine card.

Now Zach is not a partier, but when you think of a 21st birthday you always think about being able to drink legally.  We are going out for supper tonight and I imagine he'll have a legal drink and be able to pull out his license to show that he is legal!
I used the sentiment "party time" from {Happy Birthday Gorgeous}.
The sentiment on the inside is from a retired set called {Happy Hour}.  I cut the "21" twice, once with Wood Textures DSP and once with vellum and then I layered them.  I spritzed the whole thing with Shimmer Spritz for a more a subtle celebration feel.

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Happy Hour
Ink: Basic Gray
Paper: Black, Smokey Slate, Basic Gray, Vellum, Wood Textures DSP, (Black and White scrap from retired card pack)
Accessories: Large Numbers Framelits, Subtle TIEF, Champagne Shimmer Spritz

On My Mind ~ Fusion, JAI267, CTC35

Hey everyone!  I hope your having a great Saturday so far!  I have a fun card to share today...I just love this new set from the 2015-16 Catalog called {That Thing You Did}!  I especially love this saying...it just makes me laugh!  I actually made this card for my good friend who recently lost her dad and I wanted to do something to lighten her mood.  I think this did the trick!  I think you can't help but laugh at this saying!
I combined a couple different challenges with this card.....
For the Fusion Challenge, I incorporated the inspiration photo colors and the turquoise butterfly, plus the sketch.
For Casing the Catty, this weeks challenge is to use the Thank You section of the new catalog as inspiration...I used the the card in the upper right-hand corner on page 13 as my inspiration.

Lastly, Just Add Ink calls us to just add typography.  I'd say this saying qualifies!

Gold Dotted Flower Frenzy ~ CCMC347, Fusion Challenge, & PP236

Yay!  It's Create with Connie and Mary's Thursday Challenge!  This week we have a unique sketch for you !  The designers have all been very creative when it comes to this sketch, so be sure to hop over to the challenge site, check out everyone's awesome work, and then play along!
I'm also entering this into the floral Fusion Challenge.  I loved the vibrant colors of the flowers in the pictures, so that's the part that I used as inspiration.  Obviously I didn't use the sketch :)

I cut two flowers from the flower frenzy die in Rich Razzleberry cardstock and then sponged the tips with Blackberry Bliss ink.  I then cut three of the star-burst flowers out of Marina Mist cardstock and sponged a bit of Marina Mist ink on the tips of them as well.  Using my bone folder, I curled the petals of each flower slightly to give it more dimension.
I added a loop of gold sequin trim and Marina Mist 1/4" ribbon to make a "leaf".  I placed the whole thing on a peice of Gold polka dotted vellum, which I totally love!  I do have to say that this card is much more stunning in real life with all the glimmering gold.  I kept if fairly clean and simple, which is odd for me! I'm also gonna add this to The Paper Players 236 CAS floral challenge.

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: none
Ink: Blackberry Bliss and Marina Mist
Paper: Rich Razzleberry, Blackberry Bliss, Marina Mist, Gold Fancy Foil designer vellum
Accessories: Floral Frenzy Bigz die, gold sequin trim, !/4" Marina Mist ribbon

Thanks for taking a peek!

Merry Monday Fusion

Today's card is for Fusion Challenge and Merry Monday 136.

I used the sketch (kinda loosely) and sparkle from Fusion and did the red, green, and white from Merry Monday.  I added in a little Early Espresso to tie in my sentiment.....I consider Early Espresso a neutral, I guess!
The wreath is from last years holiday catalog...the one that doesn't have a matching die!  I didn't purchase this years wreath.

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: Wonderful Wreath
Ink: Garden Green, Early Espresso
Paper: Real Red, White, Trim the Tree DSP, Red Glimmer
Accessories: Expressions Thinlits die, Owl Builder punch, Woven Satin ribbon

Fusion Deer

Not only did I have time to stamp today, I also had the inspiration to get something done!  After the holidays I crashed for a few days.  I spent one whole day doing absolutely nothing but watch one movie after another.  It was wonderful!  I did some stamping for classes and others before the holidays, but didn't get any of the cards photographed before I gave them away.....hence my absence from blogging.
I was browsing around the internet for challenges today and found that Fusion Challenge is still up from a couple of weeks ago.
I loved the inspiration photo so much and wanted to do something with the deer stamp.
I love this stamp soooo much!  I've made many cards with it so far, and my favorite technique is to use heat and stick powder and glitter.  I love this image with some sparkle!  Since Christmas is over, I wanted to go into a masculine birthday sort of direction.  I know that glitter isn't very masculine, but I just can't help myself.  It just look so cool!

The Natural Chevron ribbon is a new product from the Spring Catalog.  It's pretty neat!

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: Remembering Christmas, Chalk Talk, Layered Labels
Paper: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Real Red, Sweater Weather DSP
Ink: Versa Mark, Real Red, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso
Accessories: Red grosgrain ribbon, Natural trim, Natural Chevron ribbon, Heat and Stick powder, Red glitter, Linen thread, 1 3/8" circle punch, Wood Grain EF, Apothecary Art die, Sponge

You can purchase most of these supplies HERE.

Christmas Fusion

This card is for Fusion Challenge.  It was closed down and because of all the feedback, the administrators decided to open it back up!  They are also searching for designers.
I was totally enamored with the inspiration picture and sketch this time.
I started with the Christmas tree single stamp and a Framelit die cutout I had laying around my scrap pile and built up my card from there.

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: Bells and Boughs, Single Christmas Tree
Paper: White, Baked Brown Sugar, Cherry Cobbler, Winter Lodge DSP
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, White Craft
Accessories: White EP, Modern Label punch, Frosted Finishes, Cherry Cobbler seam binding ribbon, Burlap ribbon, Natural Trim, Northern Flurry EF, Baked Brown Sugar ruffled ribbon

Beach Bird ~ CTD248, Fusion13, FM116

I have to tell you that I am absolutely in love with this card!  I'm jus so pleased with the way it turned out!!!!  I combined a few different challenges here:  Color Throwdown 248 using Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Cool Carribean, and Pretty in Pink; Fusion Challenge 13 which incorporates the bird and the sketch; and The Friday Mashup which calls for a beach scene and masking.  It was so much fun to create!

I started by cutting a 3 1/8" vanilla circle and and 3 3/8" Crumb Cake circle.  I masked the top of the vanilla circle and sponged on some Cool Carribean ink.  Next, I punched a 3/4" circle and placed it in the "sky".  I masked off the water and sponged Pretty in Pink on the sky.  I pulled of the masked circle and there was the sun! Next, I stamped on some beach foliage and sentiment from Too Kind in Crumb Cake ink.  The foliage stamp is one I purchased from Hobby Lobby.  I adhered the beach scene circle to the Crumb Cake circle and moved onto the bird.  I punched a Very Vanilla bird and a wing with my bird builder punch, trimmed down the belly (because seagulls are a little trimmer than the fat little bird builder), and sponged on some Crumb Cake ink.  I added a pearl for the eye and cut a couple thin strips of Crumb Cake for it's legs.  Next, I made the wood pillars using some Woodland Walk DSP (retired). I cut 1" strips, one a tad shorter than the other, and used a corner rounder punch at the top of each.  After I rounded the corners, I trimmed off the top to make them flat, then I wrapped them with twine.
The last step was to make the background.  I stamped a peice of Very Vanilla with the Cheesecloth background stamp in Pretty in Pink ink.  I ran it through my Big Shot with a grass-looking embossing folder.  It is from Cuttlebug and has no name.  It's a little hard to see in the photo, but it adds just a little extra textured detail.  A little strip of frayed Natural Trim and my card was complete!

Stamps: Too Kind, Cheesecloth, Foliage from Hobby Lobby
Paper: Cool Carribean, Pretty In Pink, Very Vanilla, Woodland Walk DSP
Ink: Cool Carribean, Pretty In Pink, Crumb Cake
Accessories: Bird Builder Punch, Natural Trim, Twine, Circle Cutting System, Pearl, 3/4" circle punch, Cuttlebug EF, Corner Rounder punch
