Raspberry Gray Joy ~ SSSC173 & CR84FN68

Just a really quick post today to show this card that I made for Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 173 and CR84FN 68.
I used The Sounding Joy as my centerpiece and added some texture in the form of Fancy Fans and Square Lattice EFs.  I sponged gray over the vanilla panel to add softness. Some gray satin ribbon and a vintage faceted button with silver cord complete this pretty christmas card.

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: The Sounding Joy
Paper: Going Gray, Raspberry Ripple, Very Vanilla
Ink: Going Gray and Raspberry Ripple
Accessories: Labels Framelits, Gray satin ribbon, Antique Faceted Button, Silver cord, Fancy Fans & Square Lattice EF

I Care Eleanore ~ PPA147 & CR84FN67

This card was created for Pals Paper Arts 147 and CR84FN 67.  There's not much to say about this card other than it's not my favorite.  I think I just have trouble with the color purple.  I tried to create something pretty, but I'm just not feeling it.  Maybe someone else can appreciate this one more that I can.

Aged Denim Sympathy - RS30 & CR84FN63

Today's card is for Retro Sketches 30 and CR84FN63
I loved the simple nature of this sketch and was excited to use the color combo with it!  My other inspiration for this card was a backround from a game on my iPad called Glass Tower.  When I saw the brown and tan swirled backround on the game, I knew I wanted to use it sometime on a card.  This sketch and color combo happened to be the perfect match for that!!!

Here's a list of supplies I used....
Stamps: Everything Eleanor, Card Chatter-Sympathy (CTMH)
Paper: Marina Mist, Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Sahara Sand, Early Espresso (sponging)
Accessories: Bird Builder Punch (leaves), Itty Bitty Punch Pack (flower), Scallop Eyelet Border Punch, Pearls

Thanks for taking a peek and have a wonderful day!

A Lot Going On - MOJO250 & CR84FN59

Ok, this is my second post for today, but I had to because this card plays along with Mojo Monday 250 and the challenge closes tonight.  The other challenge this one encompasses is CR84FN 59 color challenge.

There is alot going on on this card. Ribbons, brads, punches, pearls, die cuts, fussy cutting, designer paper, dimentionals and stamped images...oh my!  I'm not a clean and simple kind of girl, but this is a little much for me also.  I was trying to follow the sketch and got caught up in all these different elements!  Oh well.  I completed my task and someone will really appreciate receiving this card, I'm sure.  The photograph is sort of distorting the true color of the cardstock versus the designer paper versus the ribbon.  It looks much more color coordinated in real life.

Here's a list of supplies I used....
Stamps: Everything Eleanor, Tiny Tags
Paper: Crumb Cake, Calypso Coral, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, In Color DP
Ink: Soft Suede, Calypso Coral
Accessories: Floral Frames die, 1 3/4" Circle punch, Antique Brad, Basic Pearls, Square Punch (for flag ends on banners) 1/8" Coral Organdy ribbon
Thanks for taking a peek!

Ice Tea Cheers - RS18 & CR84FN84

Today's card is for Retro Sketches 18 (and by the way, I can't get over that it's been 18 weeks already since this challenge site launched!) & CR84FN 84.

This is the first card I've made with my brand new set Happy Hour.  Isn't this a fun little set....I've got so many ideas!
I stuck pretty close to the sketch drawing, not really tweeking anything, but on the color challenge, my neutral is a little darker than the original color palette.

I stamped the ice tea glass once on the white cardstock, then again on a scrap peice.  I cut out the drink part and added the lemon and straw.  It's all in the details!  It's very hard to see in the photo, but I embossed the bottom red panel with a large polka-dot embossing folder.  I also decorated the inside of the card.....

Here's a list of my supplies......
Stamps: Happy Hour
Paper: Real Red, Soft Suede, White, Sunny Days DP
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Soft Suede
Accessories: Large Polka-dot EF, Neutrals buttons, White string, Notebook Tab punch

Sweet Happy Grad - SSSC157 & CR84FN53

I loved this sketch when I first saw it and couldn't wait to create something for it!  I also love, love, love the soft, pretty colors for the CR84FN challenge.  As I mentioned in other posts, I need graduation cards, so here is yet another. Obviously this one is for a girl! I imagine that my posts will mostly contain graduation cards for a bit.
I knew I wanted to use designer paper for the flag banners on the sketch, and when going through my stash, I realized that I don't really have any Regal Rose DP.  I scoured my scrap box and finally came up with a small piece of paper which was part of the very first designer paper pack I bought.  It's several years old and I'm suprised I still had it.  Moral of the story is I guess it's good to keep scraps and I also need to invest in some Regal Rose DP!
Here's my list of supplies.....
Stamp: Happy Grad
Paper: Crumb Cake, White, Regal Rose, In color DP (pool party), other DP (it's so old I don't even know the name anymore!)
Ink: Pool Party, Regal Rose, Crumb Calke
Accessories: Neutrals button, Star punch, 1/8" pink ribbon, Ruffled ribbon, Swirls EF, Mat Pack

Birthday Bakery for RS2 & CR84FN50

I made this card for two challenges.  First, for Retro Sketches #2.   I was totally inspired by Jackie Rockwell's card (she's one of the designers) and knew the Birthday Bakery stamp set would be perfect for it!  It's sort of a take on the spotlight technique.  The second challenge is CR8RFN #50.  This is a color combo challenge using pink, yellow and orange.  I love this combo, especially when it ranges in the brighter hues!  This is my first time playing along at CR84FN.
I got a chance to use my new pom pom trim and big designer buttons, which I just purchased from the clearance bin on my SIL's Stampin Up website.  If you need to order, just hop on over to the side bar of my blog and click on "order supplies here" and you'll be fixed up in a jiffy!  There are some cute things in there for little cost.  I love, love, love all the new products that SU comes out with, but I enjoy a good deal too!  To make the button sit flat over the ribbon, I clipped off about three poms and it created the perfect little nest for the button.  I also added some glitter to the cakes for extra fun and sparkle.  I used blender pens and ink to color the "spotlight" cakes.

Here's a list of the suppies I used.....
Stamps: Birthday Bakery, On Your Birthday (sentiment)
Paper: Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, White
Ink: Same as Paper, Stazon Black
Accessories: swirly EF, melon mambo pom pom trim, big designer button, dimentionals, white satin ribbon (Walmart), dazzling diamonds glitter
Thanks for taking a peek!
