Raspberry Gray Joy ~ SSSC173 & CR84FN68

Just a really quick post today to show this card that I made for Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 173 and CR84FN 68.
I used The Sounding Joy as my centerpiece and added some texture in the form of Fancy Fans and Square Lattice EFs.  I sponged gray over the vanilla panel to add softness. Some gray satin ribbon and a vintage faceted button with silver cord complete this pretty christmas card.

Pretty Pink Poinsietta ~ DD#32 & Merry Monday

Good morning everyone and welcome to another Dynamic Duos color challenge!  It's a monochromatic theme of Pretty in Pink and Rose Red.
I also chose to use a sketch from Merry Monday's Year in Review Challenge, where you can pick any past sketch.  I chose #23.
From the moment I saw this Watercolor Winter set in the Holiday Catalog, I knew I HAD to have it!  I've had so much fun playing with the different images.  I have yet to stamp these flowers in red though!  I seem to gravitate towards non-traditional colors when it comes to these flowers....weird.  That will be my next task.  Stamp these poinsiettas in red.  But for now, I like them in pink!  I fussy cut three and layered them on a bed of Crumb Cake evergreen sprigs, included with the set.  I added some glitter glue to the center of each flower to add some sparkle.

I added some detail to the button in the form of a tiny tag stamped with the words from The Sounding Joy, and a little pinecone from the Watercolor Winter set.  I added some glitter glue to the pinecone too. :)
Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: Watercolor Winter, The Sounding Joy
Paper: Rose Red, Pretty in Pink, Crumb Cake, White
Ink: Same as paper
Accessories: Pink Gingham ribbon, Petals a plenty EF, Tiny Tag punch, Glitter Glue

Be sure to check out what the other designers over at Dynamic Duos have done!
Thanks for taking a peek and have a great day!

Joy in Pink Suede ~ SSSC173

Here is my entry for Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 173.
I'm always attracted to the sketches over there, and the challenges last for two weeks.  Somehow, time always seems to get away from me, so it's hit and miss when I get to participate. There are already alot of fun cards in the gallery, so there's tons of inspiration....check it out!
I'm in the process of creating a variety of christmas cards for a lady who placed an order and this is one that she is getting.  I love the color scheme of this, which was unplanned at first.  I started with the Soft Suede base card and knew I wanted to combine it with the houndstooth printed paper.  I had a scrap of Pink Pirouette laying on my desk, so I decided to see how that would work.  I'm in love with the color combo with the gold/champagne mixed in.  The ornament is from the Stocking Accents die, and I stamped the words from The Sounding Joy star onto it.  I outlined the ornament with some two-way glue and added the gold glitter.  I topped it off with a  neutral button and accented the corner of the main panel with a layered snowflake, which is my favorite thing about this card!

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: The Sounding Joy
Paper: Soft Suede, Vanilla, Pink Pirouette, Champagne Gimmer, Festival of Prints DP
Ink: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso
Accessories: Stocking Accents die, Neutrals button, Linen Thread, Tiny Tag Punch, Northern Frost Decorative Strip die, Open Scallop Border punch (EK Success), Lacy Brocade EF, Pearl, Designer Frame EF

Stamping 411 Sketch Snowflake

Todays card comes by way of Stamping 411 in the form of a sketch challenge.  I really had fun with this card, plus I got to use my brand new set from Stampin Up called The Sounding Joy....and it sure is a beautiful set!  I embossed Joy in Silver and misted the main panel with Shimmer paint/alcohol mist to give some extra shimmer.  I tried to show this in the 2nd photo, although I don't thing it showed up very well.  It's always so much prettier in real life.  The paper I used is an older set of specialty paper that I ordered a while ago thinking I'd use it for wedding cards since it was so classy looking......again with the hoarding thing.....Anyway, I decided now was as good of time as any to use it and it would go perfect with the elegant Sounding Joy set.  The brown paper is a shimmery bronze color and is gorgeous!  I wish I had more of it now!  Oh well!
Here are the supplies I used.
Stamp: The Sounding Joy, Baroque Motifs
Paper: Early Espresso, Whisper White, retired specialty paper
Ink: VersaMark, Sahara Sand
Accessories: Northern Frost Sizzlits Decorative Strip die, Shimmer paint/alcohol mist, Rhinestone brad, Silver EP, Dotted Scallop Ribbon border, Silver Glitter ribbon from Wal-Mart's christmas wrap section.
