Let's Celebrate ~ Mojo278 & PP139

I made today's card for The Paper Players Tic Tac Toe Challenge 139.  I also used the sketch from Mojo Monday 278

Oh, how I love the Tic Tac Toe challenges!  I think they are so much fun and it's great to see the variety of things other stampers come up with!  It leaves so much room for creativity.  I chose to go straight across the middle.  If anyone is a regular to my blog then you know that pink and blue is one of my favorite color combos, so how could I not choose it?  I went for the softer, more romantic, hues this time using Marina Mist, Bashful Blue, and Blushing Bride.  For the tag element I used my Lots of Tags die and then layered a banner over the top of it with the birthday greeting from On Your Birthday.

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: On Your Birthday
Paper: Marina Mist, Bashful Blue, Beau Chateau & Blushing Bride DP
Ink: Blushing Bride, Sahara Sand (sponging)
Accessories: Paper Doily, Lacy Brocade EF, Pearls, 1/4" Marina ribbon, Flower Trim, Corner Round punch, Lots of Tags die

School Daze Birthday ~ STB11 & FM103

Todays card takes in Seize the Birthday #11 (Masculine) & The Friday Mashup #103.

The Friday Mashup is honoring tax time so we are to use lined or gridded paper and mash it up with some distressing.  The interpretation for the Seize the Birthday sketch could go in any direction....I love that!  I chose to go with the Chalkboard Technique again, which I love!  I think this is what is called subway art, a mix of different fonts and images.  I really like how it turned out!  I had a fun time going through all my stamps to choose diffent birthday images.
I chose to play off the colors in the notebook paper, which is from the retired Just Add Cake designer paper pack.

The Happy Birthday script at the bottom right is from On Your Birthday.

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: So Happy For You, Word Play, Birthday Bakery, Carry On, On Your Birthday
Paper: Marina Mist, Real Red, Basic Black, Just Add Cake DP
Ink: White Craft, Black
Accessories: Corduroy Button, White Colored Pencil

FMS68 & FM92

This card is all about texture and pattern, inspired by The Friday Mashup this week.  The challenge was to use three or more colors from the inspiration picture and also use different patterns.  I chose Island Indigo, Early Espresso and Sahara Sand.  I also used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches #92.

I felt like these were masculine colors and patterns, so I made a male birthday card.  The chevron and stripes embossing folders, plus the ribbon, thread and brads bring in the texture.  I mixed patterned papers from the Mocha Morning and Festival of prints paper packs.

Here's a list of supplies....
Stamps: On Your Birthday
Paper: Vanilla, Early Espresso Core'dinations, Island Indigo, Festival of Prints DP, Mocha Morning DP
Ink: Early Espresso
Accessories: Build a Brad, Linen Thread, Early Espresso ribbon, Stripe and Chevron EF

Birthday Bakery for RS2 & CR84FN50

I made this card for two challenges.  First, for Retro Sketches #2.   I was totally inspired by Jackie Rockwell's card (she's one of the designers) and knew the Birthday Bakery stamp set would be perfect for it!  It's sort of a take on the spotlight technique.  The second challenge is CR8RFN #50.  This is a color combo challenge using pink, yellow and orange.  I love this combo, especially when it ranges in the brighter hues!  This is my first time playing along at CR84FN.
I got a chance to use my new pom pom trim and big designer buttons, which I just purchased from the clearance bin on my SIL's Stampin Up website.  If you need to order, just hop on over to the side bar of my blog and click on "order supplies here" and you'll be fixed up in a jiffy!  There are some cute things in there for little cost.  I love, love, love all the new products that SU comes out with, but I enjoy a good deal too!  To make the button sit flat over the ribbon, I clipped off about three poms and it created the perfect little nest for the button.  I also added some glitter to the cakes for extra fun and sparkle.  I used blender pens and ink to color the "spotlight" cakes.

Here's a list of the suppies I used.....
Stamps: Birthday Bakery, On Your Birthday (sentiment)
Paper: Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, White
Ink: Same as Paper, Stazon Black
Accessories: swirly EF, melon mambo pom pom trim, big designer button, dimentionals, white satin ribbon (Walmart), dazzling diamonds glitter
