Fancy Fold Holiday Branch ~ CCMC 379

Happy Thursday stampers!  This week at Create with Connie and Mary we have a wonderful sketch for you!

I flipped the sketch on it's side.  My inspiration came from this card made by LeAnn Greff.  LeAnn has all the measurements posted on her blog for this card.
I thought the main open panel with the stamped image behind it would be a nice combination for this sketch!  I really love the way this turned out and am considering making this one of my Christmas Cards this year!  I think this would be cool with our family picture pasted on the back side of the Mint Macaron panel.
I also think the Mint, Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso are so rich and striking together!  It's a new favorite combo for me for sure!

Here's a peek of the card on the inside.

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: Among the Branches, Flurry of Wishes, Reason for the Season
Paper: Mint Macaron, Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler
Ink: Early Espresso, Mint Macaron, Cherry Cobbler
Accessories: Woodland EF, Early Espresso seam binding ribbon, circle framelits, Snow Flurry punch, neutrals button, gold thread

Beautiful Thoughts ~ CCMC378

Hello stampers!  It's Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge time and it's color challenge week!
We have some nice, warm colors for you to play with......

I was thinking of flowers with the color combo and ended up going with my favorite butterfly stamp, {Beautiful Wings}.
I perched the butterfly on a base of a soft suede tag from {Everything Eleanore} and a Very Vanilla circle cut from my circle thinlets.
The sentiment is from {Best Thoughts} and I flanked it with a few little Hello Honey roses and Mossy Meadow leaves.
I love to add a little strip of sequin trim on my butterflies and you'll probably see this on 99% of my butterfly creations.  When I cut my gold sequin trim, the thread from where the sequins had come off was a little frayed and neat looking.  I figured I'd leave a little tail hanging on the butterfly.....After I looked at the photo I see that maybe I should have turned it around and made it antennae instead of a tail.  Anyway, I liked the look so much that I used some more as a little extra accent over the top of my Soft Suede ribbon under the sentiment panel.

Make sure you check out the other amazing CCMC designers blogs and leave them some love!

Peaceful Wonderland in Silver & Gold ~ HSS223

Hello stampers!  It's time again for another Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge!  This time we have a sketch for you.
This card was born out of lots and lots of scraps laying around my desk.....the silver cardstock, the background paper, the glittery "Peace" sentiment.
I strayed just a little bit from the sketch by keeping the same basic layout but turning the card portrait instead of landscape.  I also chose to put the sentiment in the left hand corner of the main panel and add the three rhinestones to mimic the stars in the sketch.

I hope you find time to play with us and try this unique sketch!
Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: Wonderland, Reason for the Season
Ink: Stazon Black, Versamark
Paper: Silver, Black Glimmer, White, Black, Winter Wonderland DSP
Accessories: Rhinestones, Iced Rhinestone embellishment, gold glitter, Heat and Stick powder, Silver and gold 1/4" ribbon, gold sequin trim, circle dies

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Chalkboard Go Wild! ~ CCMC377

Hey!  It's Thursday and that means another great Create with Connie and Mary Challenge is underway!  This is sketch week, and boy is this one good!
I was super stumped by this sketch at first, but after thinking about it for a bit I had too many ideas and couldn't decided which one to use!  Haha!!!!

I began with the idea of using the chalkboard technique and decided to use the Go Wild DSP pack, Black Glimmer paper and {Zoo Babies} to make a cute, neutral baby card.  I love all the little animals in this stamp set.  I chose to use the neglected rhino and monkey.....the little monkey looks like he's announcing the baby, doesn't he?!?
I paper pierced around the edges of the black panel to add a little more interest.

Here's a list of my supplies.....

Stamps: Zoo Babies
Paper: Tip Top Taupe, Sahara Sand, Black, Go Wild DSP, Black Glimmer
Ink: Craft White, Tip Top Taupe
Accessories: Neutrals button, Linen thread, dimensionals, paper piercing pack

Deck The Halls Skis ~ PP226

Hello and happy Tuesday to all of you!  I haven't played along with The Paper Players for quite some time and I thought this color combination looked fun and festive, so I gave it a try!

I had been looking for ideas for another project on Pinterest and came across this picture.....
Fun holiday front porch ideas are shown, including chalk painted skis, vintage Thermoses and plaid decor for Christmas. And most of the items were found at thrift stores and estate sales.:

This was my jumping off point for this card.  I wanted to use up some of my older DSP and this ski sweater print was a perfect match, I thought.
Since I don't own the new stamp set {Winter Wishes} which has a ski in it, I had to make my own!  I stamped the hardwood stamp with Real Red ink onto Real Red cardstock and then cut out 3/4" strips.  I hand cut the tips of the skis and rolled them over a bit to make the tips bend up.
The pine branches are from {Wonderland}.  I fussy cut them out and sponged them with coordinating ink. I also sponged the edges of all the Crushed Curry cardstock with Crushed Curry ink to mute the brightness of it just a bit.  The green in the DSP is actually Garden Green, but I think it goes just fine with my Cucumber Crush card base and sentiment.
A couple of gold accents thrown on in the form of a gold brad and gold cord and my card was basically done!  This was a fun one to do!

Here's a list of my supplies.....

Stamps: Happy Scenes, Hardwood, Wonderland
Ink: Cucumber Crush, Baked Brown Sugar, Real Red, Crushed Curry
Paper: Trim The Tree DSP paper stack, Crushed Curry, Cucumber Crush, Real Red, White
Accessories: Gold cord, Gold brad, Modern Label punch, Burlap Ribbon

Silent Night Scene ~ CCMC376

Happy Thursday stampers!!!!  Create with Connie and Mary is bringing you another fabulous challenge this week!  CCMC #376 is a lovely color challenge.

Many of my regular visitors might know that purple is not the first color I reach for when crafting.  However, I do enjoy it when it comes to a winter themed card.  It always plays nice with a frosty blue.  The color combo challenges us to use Lost Lagoon along with Perfect Plum.  Lost Lagoon is kind of one of those colors that can go a couple of ways....sometimes it looks blue, sometimes it looks greenish.  I chose to color in the evergreen trees (which I stamped twice) from {Happy Scenes} with my Lost Lagoon pad and blender pen.  I think it makes the trees look wonderful!
I sponged in Perfect Plum to make a pretty night sky.  I added the snow in the trees and snowflakes with my white gel pen.
I also colored the tree trunks with my Tip Top Taupe marker.
I lightly sponged the snowbanks with a little Lost Lagoon as well.
The lovely sentiment is from {Wonderland}.

For the background, I stamped the two bigger snowflakes from {Flurry of Wishes} onto a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Perfect Plum with the same color ink.
I added a Lost Lagoon banner cut from retired Floral District DSP.  I thought it looked nice because the print has what looks like little snowflakes on it.
The white glitter ribbon was added because I accidentally dropped one of my stamps onto my card.....don't you hate it when that happens????  Luckily, it was in a spot where I could cover it up easily.  It even looks as though I meant to put it there!  LOL!

I hope you can check out and leave some blog love on the other designers sites!

Fall Feather Scene ~ HHS222 & RS184

Hello everyone!  It's time again for another Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge!  This time we have a nice fall felling color combo for you.  I decided to incorporate the sketch from Retro Sketches 184 to make my card complete.

I had the idea to put the fall scene from {Happy Scenes} behind a die-cut feather.  I stamped the scene once and then stamped it again underneath the first to get the pumpkins in the foreground and make the tall skinny element for the sketch.
I colored everything with blender pen and ink pads.

I finished this card off by layering the "thanks" from hello you thinlits in Cajun Craze and Hello Honey.  I had to add a strip of gold glitter ribbon for a bit of pizzazz as well!

here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: Happy Scenes, Hardwood
Ink: Cajun Craze, Tangelo Twist, Hello Honey, Black
Paper: Cajun Craze, Sweater Weather DSP, Hello Honey, Vanilla
Accessories: Feathers framelits, Gold Glitter ribbon, Hello You Thinlits, Woodland EF

Thanks for taking a peek!

Criss-Cross Christmas ~ CCMC375

Hello stampers!  Today's Thursday, which means it's time for Create With Connie and Mary again!  Yay!  I hope you can find time to play along with our awesome sketch this week!
I scaled the sketch down to make it fit inside a square "window".  I thought it would be fun to play with the criss-cross element and turn them into snowbanks made with the Sleigh Ride Edgelits.

I added in a gold glimmer paper snowflake, punched from the Snow Flurry punch, to tie in the gold in the house windows and the gold sentiment.  The little white snowflake is from last years Christmas embellishments and then I topped it off with a black sequin from the metallic sequins.
I stamped the sentiment from {Reason For The Season} in VersaMark, embossed it with Heat and Stick powder and then added the gold glitter.

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: Reason For the Season
Ink: VersaMark
Paper: Winter Wonderland Specialty DSP, White, Black, Gold Glimmer
Accessories: Gold glitter, Snow Flurry punch, Sleigh Ride Edgelits, Frosted Sequins, Square Framelits
