Sponged Tiger Lilly ~ CCMC413

Hello Stampers!  Another Thursday has rolled around and it's time again for Create with Connie and Mary!  This week it's a cool sketch.  There are limitless possibility with this one!  I'm so excited to see what everyone comes up with.....I know our designers have been very diverse in their samples and each one is extraordinary!

For my card I wanted to mimic a designer paper from the Serene Scene designer paper stack.  I've seen a few people using it and it catches my eye every time.  I used my Timeless Texture stamp to re-create the look.  I started by stamping the "wood" piece in stamped off Pool Party ink.  I then sponged on some Soft Sky, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and just a tad of So Saffron.  I also outlined the wood planks with a Soft Suede marker to make them look more realistic.
I then turned to the flower.  I chose the one that I think resembles a Tiger Lilly.  I inked the stamp stem with an Old Olive marker and then the flower itself with a Pumpkin Pie marker.  After I had the image outline, I sponged on Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie in the flower and Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive on the stem.  After I fussy cut it out I added just a bit of Soft Suede ink around the edges of the entire thing and added some of the "freckles" that Tiger Lillies have.
I layered it all on a distressed and sponged paper doily and a circle sponged with So Saffron, Pool Party, Crumb Cake and Soft Suede.
I used a greeting from Cottage Greetings for my sentiment and stamped that in Soft Suede ink after I had distressed and sponged the banner.

I hope you'll have time to play along with us this week!  I can't wait to see all the creations!
In the mean time, here's a list of my supplies.....

Happy Little Sailboat ~ HSS241

Hello everyone!  It's time once again for a fabulous Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge!  We've got a sketch challenge for you this time and as usual you have two weeks to play along with us!

My interpretation of this sketch is a bit loose.  I wanted to try and incorporate the strips as waves for my sailboat.  I just love this little image of the boat on the water....how happy does it make you feel?  It makes me pretty happy.

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Rose Wonder Watercolor Wash ~ CCMC412

Hello fellow stampers and welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!  This is color week and look at this beautiful color combination our leaders have come up with!  Isn't it gorgeous?!?
Well, believe it or not, my card uses only these three colors (plus gold which I consider a neutral!).
I seem to be in a watercoloring mood these days and when you watercolor you can really manipulate and add or subtract the color you want.
I started out by embossing the leaves from {Rose Wonder} in white embossing powder on shimmery white cardstock.  I swiped water across the whole thing and then washed on the Pool Party ink with my aquapainter.  I added some extra color to the leaves which is why they look darker.  While my background panel was drying, I white embossed the rose, also from {Rose Wonder}, on watercolor paper.  I used Blushing Bride and Watermelon Wonder ink to achieve the colors in the rose.  I fussy cut it out once it was completely dry.  After the background had dried I used several images from the {Timeless Textures} set, some stamped in gold ink and some in Pool Party.  I also sponged some extra Pool Party around the edges of the card.
Next, I popped up the rose with demensionals, added some gold cord and gold thread, and a "For You" gold foil die cut that was laying on my desk....a discard from a previous project.  (You know how I love to used pieces on my desk!)
Lastly, I swiped some clear Wink of Stella on the rose and leaves to add extra shimmer.
The whole thing is layered on a base of Blushing Bride and Pool Party cardstock.

Make sure you hop over the the Create with Connie and Mary site and have a lookie at the other designers creations.....they do not disappoint!

Lovely Blossoms ~ HSS240

It's time again for another Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge!  This time we've got a beautiful color trio chosen by yours truly!
Wedding season is upon us and I love these colors together for a wedding card.  I was married in the winter (February) and chose darker, richer colors for my wedding, but had we been married in the summertime these would have been my colors.

I really love the texture, shimmer and shine this card has going on.  The combination of all those things makes me giddy!

I hope you'll stop over to the HSS blog and check out the other designers' work.....they are all wonderful!  We look forward to seeing cards in the gallery should you choose to play along!
Here's a list of my supplies......

Father's Day Mallard ~ CCMC410 & PP298

Hello everyone and welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary color challenge!
I chose to go masculine with our colors this week so I've also joined up with the Paper Players 298, which is a Father's Day challenge.
I water-colored practically everything on this card, except the embossed background!

I inked the bird in black Stazon on watercolor paper and used my aquapainter to apply the color.  I used Crumb Cake on the body and darkened it a bit with some Soft Suede.
I also sponged some Soft Suede ink over the Crumb Cake Boho Chic embossed layer.  I love the dimension this gives.
For the Bermuda Bay panel, I stamped the leaf image onto watercolor cardstock with the archival black ink.  I thought this image looked kinda like a feather.  Then I spritzed it down and ran my brayer loaded with Bermuda ink over it.  I then took my aquapainter and dropped little drops of water all over the whole panel.  I let it dry and like the effect it gave.  I sponged the edges with Soft Suede ink as well.  I used the same process to make the little yellow strip of paper.

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: The Wilderness Awaits, Thoughtful Banners, Botanical Blooms
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Stazon and Archival black
paper: Watercolor, Crumb Cake
Accessories: Linen Thread, Dimensionals, Boho Chic EF

I hope you find time to play along with us for this week's color challenge at Create with Connie and Mary!
Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Wonderful Hummingbird~CCMC409

Happy Thursday everyone!  We're back with another fantastic challenge from Create with Connie and Mary!  It's sketch week.  Take a look at this gem.....

I decided to go ahead and use my hummingbird from {Picture Perfect} since I had used all the other images in the past few challenges.
I used the sketch flipped upside down, kinda.  The flower and leaves are supposed to mimic the corner banner.

Don't you just love these colors?!?!!!  They are all new except for Soft Sky.  I used Dapper Denim (which will be one of my favs, I know!), Flirty Flamingo, and Emerald Envy.  They are so rick together!
I love how tropical this turned out.  That's actually not the direction I was going, but I love it!
I hope you'll find time to play along with us in this weeks challenge.  Be sure to check out the CCMC site and leave some love for the designers' great projects!
Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!
