Inspiring *CCMC 182*

The inspiration for this card comes from this weeks challenge over at Create with Connie and Mary.  Here's the sketch......
Create Sketches Portrait-015
I had seen some cards over on Splitcoaststampers a few weeks ago using a similar color combo to this one and just loved them all.  I love the softness of the colors together and feel like they lend themselves to a vintage sort of theme.  I added some of the "coffee splatters" from the French Foliage set and sponging to the main panel to make it feel older.  I also crumpled up the flowers and sponged those for the same effect.

Here's the list of supplies I used with this card.....
Stamps: Perfect Words, French Foliage
Paper: Pear Pizzaz, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Vanilla and Newsprint DP
Ink: Soft Suede, Pear Pizzaz, Sahara Sand
Accessories: Blossom Party die, Antique Brad, Lace Ribbon Border punch

Silver Wedding

This card was made for two challenges.  Create with Connie and Mary 181 which challenges us to use only white and silver glimmer.  Also, I used sketch challenge 235 over at Staming 411.

Color Coach-019
I thought this card could double as a wedding card or a silver anniversary card.....I'll just have to see what ocasion pops up first, I guess!  The little wedding cake was a snap to make with only two punched squares run through the Big Shot with the Finial Press EF.  It's sitting on a Scallop Oval cake plate.  I used the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack for the accessory flowers and gave them some dimention by laying them on the soft pad from the mat pack and running my stylus over them.  This technique sure does make the little flowers stand out, plus the small rhinestone in the center of each one.  To give the base card some interest, I ran that thru the Big Shot with my Elegant Bouquet EF.  I inked up the Mr. & Mrs. stamp from Tiny Tags with Basic Gray ink, then stamped it off once to get the softer color.
Here is the list of all the supplies I used on this card......
Stamp: Tiny Tags
Paper: White, Silver Glimmer
Ink: Basic Gray
Accessories: Finial Press and Elegant Bouquet EF, Oval punches, Scallop Oval punch, Square punch, Itty Bitty Punch Pack, Rhinestone basics, Organza ribbon.

Ready to move on....

Is anyone else ready to make something other than Christmas cards?  I know that Christmas is only a couple days away, but I'm ready to move on to something new!  Don't get me wrong....I love, love, love Christmas and everything it stands for, but the cardmaker in me says, "let's do something different"!  So, here we are with a Valentine's Day card!  This card was made with a new set from the Occasions Mini Catalog called P.S. I Love You.  It's so cute and filled with lots of diverse Valentine's Day images.  I chose the yummy little srawberry that is dipped in chocolate.  I put Crystal Effects over the chocolate dipped part to give it a little dimention.  I tried to take a pic of it from a different angle...take a look.
I layered the chocolate strawberry on a circle and then on the new Labels Collection Framelits Dies, also from the new mini catalog.  There are some fun, new things in there!  Here are some of the other supplies I used.
Stamp:  P.S. I Love You
Paper: Old Olive, Real Red, Chocolate Chip, White
Ink: Same as above
Accessories: circle punch, Labels Framelits Die, Three Heart punch, neutrals buttons, red grosgrain ribbon, Owl Builder punch (small heart), Crystal Effects, Lucky Limeade bakers twine, swiss dot EF, dotted scallop ribbon border, Simply Scored tool.

A Couple More Chistmas Cards

I wanted to make a quick post showing just a couple more christmas cards I made that aren't linked up to any challenges in particular.  I just wanted to get them up on my blog.  All three are made using the stocking accents die.  This die is soooo versatile and well worth the money.  I think my favorite card is the third one...it uses the Deck the Halls DP from last season and looks so elegant.  I used the brushed bronze paper for the tops of the ornaments and then sponged them with some Chocolate Chip to give them a little more depth.  I love the way it turned out.

Another CAS! *KKC07*

Yes!  It's time for another Ka-Pow Kreative Challenge!  This week is a sketch challenge and it looks like this......

I took creative license after I saw Carrie Gaskin's sample, which is stunning as usual, and loosely interpreted the sketch.  I'm also entering this in The Paper Player's #75 Challenge where we are to use non-traditional christmas colors.  I used my new Stocking Accents die.  I have had so much fun playing around with all the shapes and the only one I hadn't used yet was the christmas bulb.  I figured it would work well for this sketch.  I am so totally in love with the glimmer paper too (both silver and red).  It adds soooo much!  I suprised myself by making another relatively clean and simple card.  I am coming down to the end of my silver cord and desperately want some more, but SU! doesn't carry it anymore.....does anyone know where a person could get some?  Keep in mind that I live in a rural area and don't live near any mega craft stores, but I can buy on-line!  Anywhooo, I had a ton of fun making this card and might just bust out a few more for to send out....if I can get somemore of that darn silver cord that is!
Here are the supplies I used...
Stamps: Peace on Earth from CTMH
Paper: Marina Mist, Real Red, Pretty in Pink, Lucky Limeade, Crushed Curry, White, Silver Glimmer
Ink: same as above
Accessories: Stocking Accents die, Silver cord, Swirly and Swill Dot EF

Shapes and Shadows SSC231

This card is for Stamping 411's Saturday Sketch Challenge 231.  For some reason I'm having trouble copy-ing and pasting the sketch to my blog, so I guess if you want to take a look at the sketch, you will have to hop on over via the link....
The snowflake is from an oldie but a goodie set called shapes and shadows.  I also spritzed the embossed Old Olive backround piece with shimmer spray.  I wish it would photograph better, because that's what adds the pizzaz to this card. :(
Here are the other supplies I used...
Stamps: Shapes and Shadows
Paper: Real Red, Old Olive, Vanilla, Retired Christmas DP
Ink: Real Red, River Rock
Accessories: Rhinestone brad, circles die, flowers EF, Red polkadot grosgrain ribbon, decorative label punch, shimmer spray.
