Dimensional Tulips ~ CCMC468, GDP97

Hello everyone! Create with Connie and Mary sketch time again!  I also used the colors from Global Design Project #97 to help me out with my card this week.

I decided to go with the hostess stamp set {Tranquil Tulips}.  I haven't really played around with this set much, but I have seen a few cards that I admired that have used it.  One (and I can't remember whose it was) stacked the head of the tulip up to give it dimension and I really like that, so I cased that idea.  I stamped the tulip once on my stitched square, then twice more on some scrap paper, then fussy cut the different pieces out.  I slightly bent the top edge out to add a bit more dimension.  The first layer is adhered right on top of the image with snail.  The top is popped up on a dimensional.
I also stamped a couple of the leaves on scrap and cut them out as well.  I like the way this looks!

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: Tranquil Tulips, Birthday Blooms
Ink: Berry Burst, Crumb Cake, Wild Wasabi
Paper: White, Crumb Cake, Wild Wasabi
Accessories: Stitched framelits, Berry Burst ribbon, White Perfect Accents

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Seaside Starfish ~ HSS269, FabFri117

Hello stampers!  It's time for another Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge and this time it's a photo inspiration.  These are some of my favorite challenges to participate in.  I was inspired by the top left photo.  I also used the sketch from Fab Friday 117 to help me out.
I started out by covering my clear acrylic block with Pool Party at the bottom, Bermuda Bay in the middle and Pacific Point at the top for the sky.  I misted the whole thing with water and laid the block right on my piece of Whisper White cardstock.  I love the way it turned out.  I also used the water/wave stamp from High Tide to add waves to the Pool Party part, but you really can't see it.
I added the sea birds to the sky in Basic Black and then stamped and fussy cut the starfish from Picture Perfect.  I stamped the starfish in Crumb Cake on white, but in hindsight I wish I would have stamped it on Crumb Cake paper.  I think it might have looked richer.

I gave the starfish a little dimension by laying it face down on a mouse pad then lightly running the large end of my stylus all over the back.  It breaks down the fibers in the paper a bit.  I added two dimensionals to the back and popped it onto the card front.

I finished it off with a nice, crisp strip of Pacific Point, the sentiment, and some linen thread.
Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Birthday Hugs Floral Shaker ~ CCMC467, SIP108

Hello stampers!  I made this card for Create with Connie and Mary's new color challenge and I also used the inspiration of Fabulous Florals from Stamp Ink Paper.
My card is actually inspired by one of Dena Rekow's creations.  I loved the card she made and tried something similar but made it into a shaker card.  Who doesn't love a shaker card?!?!
I'm also in love with the iridescent sequins and can't seem to stop using them on my projects!  I realize that the sequins on the inside are probably enough but I'll let you in on a little secret.  I smudged some green ink towards the top of my card and I had already done so much work to make this card I didn't want to scrap it all together.  So, I covered the smear with a sequin, scattered a few more and voila', problem solved!

I hope you'll find time to join us on the Create with Connie and Mary facebook page where you can share your cards inspired by our color challenge.  I'm excited to see what everyone comes up with!

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: Swirly Bird, Thoughtful Banners
Ink: Berry Burst, Island Indigo, Pear Pizzazz
Paper: Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz, Island Indigo, Berry Burst
Accessories: White bakers twine, Iridescent sequins, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Lovely Words Thinlits, Foam Adhesive strips, clear seed beads (non-SU)

Thanks Fabulous Flamingo ~ CCMC466, SIP107

Hey everybody!  Create with Connie and Mary sketch time again!  Join us for cool sketch challenge #466 by uploading your creation to the CCMC facebook page.
I have really enjoyed playing with the Fabulous Flamingo ever since it arrived in my new goodies box!  The first moment I saw this image I knew it would be at the top of my wish list.  I don't know what it is, I just like it a lot!
I used the fun Tic-Tac-Toe challenge #107 over at Stamp Ink Paper to help me along in my creation.  I used across the middle - Green, Embossed, Pink.

I've been a huge fan of the Dynamic Textured Impression Folders since the first Cable Knit one came out last year.  When they introduced a couple new ones in the new catalog I made sure I got each one!  The super embossed ruffles on this one look awesome with this stamp set, don't you think?
Also, the iridescent sequins could not be a better match!  They were another new product I was thrilled about!

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: Fabulous Flamingo, Jar of Love
Ink: Powder Pink, Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, Tempting Turquoise, Pool Party, Lemon Lime Twist
Paper: Whole Lot of Lovely DSP, Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, White, Tempting Turquoise
Accessories: Everyday Jars Thinlits, Ruffled Dynamic Textured Impressions folder, iridescent sequins

Country Daisy ~ CCMC465

Hi stampers!  I hope everyone had a fun and safe Fourth of July!  I was camping with my family and extended family in the Big Horn Canyon on the Montana/Wyoming border.  We had a fantastic time on the river boating and swimming.
But now it's back home and back to reality and another challenge from Create with Connie and Mary.  This week we're using the colors Tranquil Tide, Night of Navy and Peek-a-boo Peach.  I used the ever popular Delightful Daisy again.  I punch two daisies out of white cardstock and sponged a bit of Peach onto the middle of each.  I layered them together and then punched a small circle of Navy.  I took my little scissors and snipped little notches all the way around the circle and then "fluffed" it up to form the center of the flower.  I added a smaller punched circle and then layered a gold faceted rhinestone for the very center.  I like the rustic look of the wood DSP combined with the new Navy gingham ribbon.  It feels very country.  I added a little strip of Tranquil Tide that I punch with the Ticket Tear punch below the ribbon and tied the whole thing off with Linen Thread.

The sentiment feels very country too!  I just love it!  It's from Jar of Love.  To complete my card I layered everything on a wide strip of Night of Navy after I had run it through the Big Shot with the big Polka Dot EF and then scattered a couple of gold sequins.

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!
