Berry Bright Butterfly ~ CCMC563, GDP191, SIP200, TSOT410

Hello stampers!  Today's card is my design team card for Create with Connie and Mary using the bright combo of Berry Burst, Pumpkin Pie and Bermuda Bay.  I also used the butterfly inspiration from Global Design Project, the sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesday, and I'm also entering Stamp Ink Papers designer's choice challenge.  I love this big, bold butterfly and have so much fun coloring it in each time!

I embossed the butter fly in white on watercolor paper, watercolored with my ink pads and aqua painter, and fussy cut it out.  I layered it on a circle of Berry Burst, and then on a pearlized doily....I actually used the the opposite side, the plain white side.
I love the polka dot DSP from the color family packs and used the Bermuda Bay here.  The Berry Burst card base seemed a little too much, so I toned it down with a piece of vellum.  Vellum can be tricky to work with since you can see adhesive through it.  I added a little bit of white thread to help keep the top and bottom tacked down, since I couldn't use adhesive on those parts!  Lastly, I added in some iridescent sequins to tie in the Pumpkin Pie accents on the butterfly.

Here's a list of my supplies......
Stamps: Beautiful Day, Needle and Thread
Ink: Berry Burst, Pumpkin Pie, Bermuda Bay, Craft White
Paper: Brights DSP, Berry Burst, Bermuda Bay, Vellum, Watercolor
Accessories: Perlized Doilies, iridescent sequins, white thread

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

CAS Needlepoint Flowers ~ CCMC562, CC&S322, PP442, TGIFC212

Hi there stampers!  Today's card is for our new sketch challenge over at Create with Connie and Mary...it's a fun one that could go in so many directions!
I love to gain inspiration from other places as well, so as I was looking for a color combination to use I came across CAS Colours & Sketches color challenge #322 using Pumpkin Pie, Coastal Cabana, and Daffodil Delight.  After I had made my card and was writing down the colors for my blog I realized I used Bermuda Bay instead of Coastal Cabana!  Oopsie!  I may have to play along with this one again, using the right colors this time!
I'm also entering my card into the Paper Players clean and simple plant challenge and TGIF paper flowers challenge.  I think my card fits nicely into them both!
My card also features the Needle and Thread stamp set, Needlepoint Elements Thinlits, and Gingham Gala DSP.

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Bright Flowers ~ HSS315, TGIFC212, PP442

Hey there stampers!  Today's card was created for Hand Stamped Sentiments color challenge #315 using Coastal Cabana, Gorgeous Grape, and Melon Mambo.  To help me along with my design team card, I used the inspiration of paper flowers from TGIF Challenges #212, and The Paper Players clean and simple plants challenge #442.

I used Shimmer White cardstock and swiped on some Coastal Cabana with my aqua painter.  After that dried I ran it through the big shot with my Subtle TIEF.  I stamped the flowers and leaves from a retired set called Birthday Blossoms with Stazon ink and watercolored the challenge colors on them.  Next, I fussy cut it all out and arranged it on the background.  The sentiment, also from Birthday Blossoms, was embossed with white embossing powder on black cardstock and cut out in a rectangle.
Lastly, I added some Wink of Stella to the centers of the flowers.

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: Birthday Blossoms
Paper: Shimmer White, Black, Melon Mambo
Ink: Melon Mambo, Gorgeous Grape, Coastal Cabana, Stazon Black, Versamark
Accessories: White EP, Wink of Stella, Subtle TIEF

Welcome Little One ~ CCMC560

Hey stampers!  Today's card is for the new sketch challenge for the week at Create with Connie and Mary. I needed a baby girl card and have not yet used this cute kangaroo image from Animal Outing.  I love coloring with the blends markers too, so that's what I did!  I used the Ivory marker on the whole body of the kangaroo and then shaded with light and dark Crumb Cake.  I colored the little koala light and dark Smokey Slate.  I love the way it turned out!  I fudged a little bit with the cattywampus strips.  No matter what I did I couldn't get them to look good or right, so I settled for one straight strip with a bit of scalloped edge sticking out the bottom.  The scallop is so girly, which tied in nicely I thought!

Here's a list of my supplies....
stamps: Animal Outing
paper: Brights DSP, Powder Pink, Flirty Flamingo, Smokey Slate, Basic Gray, White
ink: Smokey Slate, Powder Pink, Flirty Flamingo, Memento Black, and Ivory, light & dark Crumb Cake, and light & dark Smokey Slate Blends
accessories: Petal Burst EF, Stitched Shapes framelits, 1/8" smokey slate ribbon, Animal Friends thinlits, decorative lace border punch

Swirly Bird Case Friend ~ HSS314, GDP188, PP440

Hello stampers!  Today's card is for our new sketch challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  Check it out and play along with us!  To complete my design team card I also drew inspiration from Global Design Project #188 casing the designer Brian King.  I chose to case his colors.  I also used the theme challenge from The Paper Players #440, life is better with friends.  My friend sentiment comes from the Sprinkles of Life set.

I chose to go with a soon-to-be retired set, Swirly Bird.  I havn't used this set as much as I should have, which seems to be the case with many of the sets that are retiring!  Why is that???  I see they're retiring and I instantly regret not using them more.

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: Swirly Bird, Sprinkles of Life
Ink: Blushing Bride, Balmy Blue, Lemon Lime Twist, Crumb Cake
Paper: Balmy Blue, Crumb Cake, White, Gingham Gala
Accessories: Swirly Scribble thinlits, stitched rectangle framelits, artisan pearls

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

I knew I wanted to do red flowers for my design team card and I was inspired by this card made by Martin Stone.
