Remarkable Anniversary ~ CCMC512, WWC172, ATSM294

Hello stampers!  This is Create with Connie and Mary's last challenge before we switch over to the new catalog!  I had to use another flower from the retiring set {Remarkable You} and once again I did the no line watercolor technique.  I love, love, love this!  I also wanted to use the fabulous Foil Frenzy DSP.  I have a bunch of it left and when it comes time for things like this to be retired I'm always kicking myself for not using them up!  I find myself saying I should have used this stamp more, or I should have used more of this paper!  Ugh, every darn year!  I guess it's not like I can never use them again but there's so much fun new stuff coming!!!!
This is our sketch for the week:
I also joining my card up with Watercooler Wednesday 172 - anything goes, and Addicted to Stamps and More 294 - Clean and Simple.

So, along with the couple retiring items, this card also showcases some new as well!  The Pearlized Doily behind the flower is a wonderful new accessory added this year, and the sentiment banner as well as the metal flower are from an embellishment kit called Share What You Love.

I have an 50th wedding anniversary party coming up and this special card with be going to that special couple!

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Navy Blooms ~ CCMC511, PP394

Hello stampers!  My card for today is for our latest color challenge over at Create with Connie and Mary.  They color trio is so nice and cool.
I've been on a watercoloring kick lately and couldn't help myself from making some pretty blue blooms using the no line watercoloring technique.  And since my card is all about the flowers I'm sharing it on the Paper Players clean and simple blooms challenge #394.

I inked up one of the floral images and leaves from {Remarkable You} in Sahara Sand ink.  I applied lots of layers of Night of Navy and Emerald Envy ink, letting each layer dry in between.  I washed the entire background with Pool Party.
I wanted a nice bold sentiment so I went with {Lovely Inside and Out}.  Both of the stamp sets I used are retiring. :(
To finish off my card I added some Pool Party shimmer ribbon, Emerald Envy 1/4" ribbon, and a few silver sequins.  I popped the main panel with dimesionals for added interest.

I hope you'll join us at the Create with Connie and Mary Facebook page with your color combo creations.
Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Spring Bike Ride ~ HSS290

Hello stampers! Today's card is for Hand Stamped Sentiments color challenge #290

I've been itching to use this bicycle set and figured these fun colors would do just the trick! I think I was right! The blue was perfect for the bike color and the purple and green for the flowers in the basket! I added the fun little puppy dog with a rich razzleberry scarf, too! So cute!
I used retired dsp's but the razzleberry velvet ribbon is a new item available in the new catalog and can be ordered on June 1st! It's so pretty and soft!

I hope you'll be able to join us in our challenge! In the mean time take a look at the HSS home blog and check out what the other designers have made!
Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Yellow Blossoms CCMC510, TSOT, CC&S272

Hey there stampers!  It's Thursday again and that means it's time for a new Create with Connie and Mary Challenge!  It's sketch week this time.  CC&M will hosting some different challenges in June, so stay tuned for that!
I also used Try Stampin' on Tuesday's Tic-Tac-Tuesday #3.  I chose to go diagonal with green, blue, and stripes.  I was also excited about the colors from CAS Colours and Sketches #272 and worked my card around those!  Have you ever looked at colors for a color challenge and are sure you've got it right only later to find out that your were wrong?  Well, that's what I did here.  I was sure the yellow was Daffodil Delight and not So Saffron, so my card is made with Daffodil Delight instead.  Whoops!

I played with the no-line watercoloring technique for this card.  I stamped two of the flowers from Birthday Blossoms in Sahara Sand ink on watercolor paper and colored them with Daffodil Delight ink and my aqua painter.  Birthday Blossoms is on the retiring list as well as Brushstrokes, the stamp I used for the striped background.  The Sahara Sand dots are from Petal Palette.
The Pacific Point panel is embossed with the Basket Weave TEF.

To finish the card off, I added some paper doily on each side of the flower bunch and a linen thread bow.

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Side by Side Flamingos ~ CCMC509, FF0007

Hey stampers!  Today's card is for our new color challenge over at Create With Connie and Mary.  Isn't it divine?  I love pink, green, and neutral together.  As soon as I saw these colors I thought of the Fabulous Flamingo set and the cool greenery stamp that comes with it.
What I'm not really hip on are the sentiments that come with it, so when I had this idea in my head I needed some sort of sentiment that would go with a pair of Flamingos.  I found one in the Beautiful Bouquet set.  I don't necessarily think the front sentiment and the inside sentiment were designed to go together, but they seemed to when I stamped this card (LOL)!  Now that I read it again they are a little disjointed....I may need to re-stamp the inside before I give it away.  :) At any rate, it will make a fun wedding or an anniversary card.

What say's Pink better than a flamingo?  That's why I'm sharing my card in the Festive Friday #7 challenge.

For the background on my card I started by taping down a 3"x 5 1/2" piece of watercolor paper, taking care to leave about a 1/4" border on all 4 sides.  It's not perfect, but it's close!  Next, I misted the paper with water and stamped the green leaves directly on the paper.  After that dried, I added some Sahara Sand ink with my Aqua painter in between the leaves and then stamped more leaves on top.  After it all dried again I used my clear wink of stella pen and painted some shimmer on the neutral background between the leaves.  It's very subtle but a nice little touch.
I stamped two flamings in Flirty Flamingo and Crumb Cake, fussy cut them out and then popped them up over the sentiment strip and ribbon.  I need to talk about this ribbon for a second.  This Pear Pizzazz Pleated Satin ribbon goes back a long, long way....back to when Pear Pizzazz was an In-Color, I think!  Am I correct about that?  I'm pretty sure Pear Pizzazz was an In-Color at one time.  Anyway, I had a bit of it left and wanted a pretty accessory to go on my card under the sentiment.  I love the way it looks.  I tied a string of linen thread around it to bring out the neutrals in the card as well.  I topped everything off with a few Iridescent Sequins and there you have it!

I hope you'll be able to join us in this week's CCM Color Challenge!
Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

My card was chosen as a Festive Friday Favorite! Yay!

New Stuff! HSS289, JAI407

Hello stampers!  Today's card is for Hand Stamped Sentiments #289.  As part of the design team we get to see the challenges weeks ahead of time but I almost never work ahead.  I seem to be a procrastinator at heart and always wait until the last minute to get things done. I've also been a little behind with my orders and finally just recieved my Share What You Love suite.  Demonstrators were able to order this fun sneak peek pack last month and it's available to customers this month--until the end of May.  There are three different packs to choose from, each with a little more product than the next.  I chose to go with the biggest pack called the Gotta Have It All Bundle.
For this card I, most of the products I used are from this bundle.  The peachy colored paper is a new In-color called Grapefruit Grove.  It's scrumptious!  I also used some beautiful specialty designer paper from a pack called Share What You Love.  The flower and watercolor background splat are stamps from a new set called Love What You Do.  The sentiment is from Petal Palette...one of my favorites!  Other new products are the sweet little Artisan Pearls and a little peek of a pearlized doily.  These are gorgeous!
To add some texture I used my Basket Weave TEF (textured embossing folder) to the Pool Party panel.  To finish things off I wound some thin gold thread behind the main panel and popped it up on dimesionals.

I'm also adding my card into the Just Add Ink #407 challenge just add "O".  My "O" is orange....or and orange-y color which in this case is Grapefruit Grove

I hope you'll be able to join us for this fun sketch challenge at HSS.

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Hey stampers!  I've got two cards for this week's Create with Connie and Mary sketch challenge #508.  I had to dig way down deep into my stash this week to find a baby girl card, so I figured it was time to replenish it!  This card came together super fast and is so simple and I love the way it turned out.  I figured that since the baby girl came together so quick, why not make a baby boy one too! I used two colors that are retiring Pink Pirouette and Marina Mist.

Ink: Pink Pirouette, Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, Marina Mist, Wild Wasabi
