First Glamper Camper! ~ CCMC450, SSC148

Hey stampers!  Create with Connie and Mary is back with another sweet color trio this week!
I'm FINALLY getting around to using my Glamper Camper set.  I think this is just the cutest! I thought the colors could lend themselves to a 50's vintage camper so I pulled this set out.  I love the cute little flamingo perched on the lawn too!  It's so fun!
At first I had the idea I was gonna paper piece the camper with different designer papers.  But, I soon realized it was a lot more cutting than I wanted to do....so, back to good old watercolor!!!  I stamped the image on white shimmer paper.  It's a great paper to do some minimal watercoloring on.  I'm so happy with the way it came out.  I layered it on a Daffodil Delight banner of DSP (and as I type this I'm realizing that the challenge color is So Saffron! Oops!)
The whole thing is perched on a piece of Carried Away DSP from this years Sale-a-bration.  I though the Mint Macaron cloud pattern would make a fun background.
I used the sketch from Sunday Stamps to help me out with the design of my card this week.

I hope you'll be able to join us in this challenge by posting your creation on the Create with Connie and Mary facebook page.
Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Rustic Spring Floral ~ HSS260

Hi stampers!  Today's card is for Hand Stamped Sentiments photo inspiration challenge #260.  I just love the floral images along with the wood.  It's rustic and springy all at the same time!
I drew inspiration from the shape and color of the flowers in the upper right hand photo, as well as the wood.  I'm very pleased with the way my card turned out!  I added some metallic gold in there to jazz things up a bit, too!

I actually combined three different stamp sets to make this card.  First is obvious...Swirly Bird for the flowers and small leaves.  Second I used the long leaf from Botanical Blooms, and lastly I used the sprig image from Foxy Friends.  Also used is Hardwood, of course!  I stamped the large flower in Calypso Coral and Watermelon Wonder, the medium one in Pool Party and Bermuda Bay, and the small one in So Saffron and Crushed Curry.  The leaves were cut our of Dapper Denim paper and stamped with Night of Navy.  The card base is Tip Top Taupe.
I hope you'll be able to join us for this fun challenge!
Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Green Penned and Painted ~ CCMC449, PP335

Hello all!  It's time for another Create with Connie and Mary sketch challenge.  I also used a little color inspiration from the Paper Players with green and white.  It seems like when you think of March one always thinks green!
I wanted to play with watercolor again so I started out with a piece of watercolor paper that I could slice down into three panels.  I stamped the solid flower image from Penned and Painted in versamark ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I then washed some Old Olive and Pear Pizzazz ink over the top with my aquapainter.  After it dried, I stamped the lined flower and leaf images from the same set and then ran over them with my wet brush.  I love the way this turned out!

For the background, I embossed a piece of Vanilla cardstock with the Brick Wall EF.  I used my aquapainter to "fill in the cracks" with pear pizzazz and crumb cake ink.  After that dried I sponged over each brick with Crumb Cake ink to add a little more dimension.
My flowered panel ended up a little large, but I loved it so much I didn't want to cut it down.  I really like how the background turned out too and wish more of it would have been visible.
Lastly I added some lace trim and vanilla satin ribbon and a sympathy banner.  It seems like I've needed a bunch of sympathy cards lately.

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Pool Blossom ~ CCMC448, SIP89

It's time for another Create with Connie and Mary Challenge!  This week it's color. I also used the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #89 to help me create my card.
I keep going back to my love of watercoloring!  I fussy cut the flower out....I know, I know, it has a coordinating punch, but I like the way you can get closer to the edge by fussy cutting.  I stamped some textures onto the circle and then used my auquapainter to "bleed" the color out a bit.
I finished up the flower and leaves by adding some wink of stella (see picture below).

I used the plenty of petals EF to make this wonderful textured background.  I also added a little interest to the smokey slate strip by stamping the little cluster of flowers from Birthday Blossoms in Smokey Slate ink.  I also stamped the same flowers in the corners of the Chocolate Chip card base.  It's very subtle.
I finished this one off with a bit of vanilla satin ribbon and also some linen thread.

I hope you can join us in the challenge this week!
Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Shine High Tide ~ HSS259

Hello stampers!  Today's post is for Hand Stamped Sentiments Sketch Challenge #259, designed by yours truly!  I love the simplicity of this sketch.
I chose to use one of my newer sets {High Tide}.  I stamped it in neutrals and combined it with some retired By The Sea (or something like that) DSP.  I like the soft colors together.  It feels really beachy.
The sentiment is from Sunburst Sayings

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

I Saw You in Blue ~ CCMC447, SR364, ATSM251

Hello stampers!  Today's card is for this weeks Create with Connie and Mary sketch.  Isn't this one fun?  There are so many possibilities!
I'm also using Stampin' Royalty's "use your favorite technique" challenge #364.  My favorite technique it watercoloring, which I did on the saw and screwdriver.

I grabbed the {Nailed It} set when if first came out in the Occasions Catalog, but I haven't had a chance to use it yet.  I thought this was a fun, masculine set that could be used for little boys as well!  Plus, I love a good pun!
I stamped each tool in Stazon ink on watercolor paper and then used my aquapainter to color them in.  Although I have the matching die set to these stamps I chose to fussy cut the tools because I didn't want the white border to show around the edges.  I did use the die to cut the center of the saw handle though.  I thought the measuring stick would be the perfect way to incorporate the vertical strip from the sketch...I'm loving the way it came out!
For the background I experimented with several different things.  I finally settled on embossing a piece of  Pacific Point with the Hexagon folder and then stamped the Hardwood stamp inked in Dapper Denim over the top.  It adds another layer of "texture" sort of.

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: Nailed It, Hardwood
Ink: Stazon, Dapper Denim, Pacific Point, Smokey Slate, Crumb Cake
Paper: Dapper Denim, Pacific Point, Crumb Cake, Watercolor
Accessories: Build It Framelits, Hexagon EF
