My Card For Danny ~ CTD301 & JAI223

Little Danny Nickerson is battling brain cancer.  He is about to turn 6years old.  His wish for his birthday was to receive lots of cards.  I made this for him and will be mailing it off today.  Here's a link to the news story about Danny....maybe you could mail him a card too!  His address is:
Danny Nickerson
P.O. Box 212
Foxboro, MA 02035

I used a couple different challenges to create this card.  The color challenge from Color Throwdown 301 and the sketch from Just Add Ink 223.

Since Danny is only turning 6, I wanted to use a fun, animal image.  I stamped on DSP and used the paper piecing technique, plus popped some of the images and sentiment up to add some fun.  I'm sure he'll love each and every card he receives.  I'm sure his family would appreciate prayers too!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DANNY!!!!

Puffed Blended Bloom ~ FMS145

I made this card for Freshly Made Sketches 145.
Don't you just LOVE Pinterest???!!!  I sure do!  Especially when it makes it so easy to find and share cards and new (or new to me) stamping techniques.  This card uses a puffed up technique that doesn't really have a name, I guess.  I found this fun little tutorial by Deb Valder on YouTube via Pinterest.  You outline your image with a stylus and then glue a little bit of cotton ball to the back of the image.  When you glue your image to your card you get a raised or puffed up effect.  It's something new and neat to try!

I tried to taking some photos to showcase the technique, but I think it's hard to see.

This one might be a little better.
Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: Blended Bloom
Paper: Bermuda Bay, Hello Honey, Bella Bloom & Fresh Prints DSP
Ink: Memento Black, Coastal Cabana & Daffodil Delight Blendabilites markers
Accessories: Sequin trim, Hello Honey and Coastal Cabana ribbon, Sweet Stitches Designer button, Bermuda Bay bakers twine, Windows framelits

Paper Crafters Sampler July Issue ~ Elements of Summer

What images run through you mind when you think of summer? Does it remind you it's family vacation time, picnics or camping? Do you think of those sweet summer outdoor parties or the over-abundant blooms everywhere?

This month the design team has created projects based on what reminds them most of summer. Projects include a 3D summer basket bucket list, a 3D camping project and lots of beautiful floral images and a mouth-watering picnic idea.

Here's a sneak peek of my project.....

Hop on over to PCS and check out all the cool projects the other ladies have made!
