I Saw You in Blue ~ CCMC447, SR364, ATSM251

Hello stampers!  Today's card is for this weeks Create with Connie and Mary sketch.  Isn't this one fun?  There are so many possibilities!
I'm also using Stampin' Royalty's "use your favorite technique" challenge #364.  My favorite technique it watercoloring, which I did on the saw and screwdriver.

I grabbed the {Nailed It} set when if first came out in the Occasions Catalog, but I haven't had a chance to use it yet.  I thought this was a fun, masculine set that could be used for little boys as well!  Plus, I love a good pun!
I stamped each tool in Stazon ink on watercolor paper and then used my aquapainter to color them in.  Although I have the matching die set to these stamps I chose to fussy cut the tools because I didn't want the white border to show around the edges.  I did use the die to cut the center of the saw handle though.  I thought the measuring stick would be the perfect way to incorporate the vertical strip from the sketch...I'm loving the way it came out!
For the background I experimented with several different things.  I finally settled on embossing a piece of  Pacific Point with the Hexagon folder and then stamped the Hardwood stamp inked in Dapper Denim over the top.  It adds another layer of "texture" sort of.

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: Nailed It, Hardwood
Ink: Stazon, Dapper Denim, Pacific Point, Smokey Slate, Crumb Cake
Paper: Dapper Denim, Pacific Point, Crumb Cake, Watercolor
Accessories: Build It Framelits, Hexagon EF

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!
Jenny

  5. The Hardwood stamped with the Hexagon folder is such a subtle thing to do, but it's a "wow"! Spot on this week Jenny!
