Shabby Chic Tranquil Tulips ~ HSS288, FabFri135

Hello stampers!  Today's card is for Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge #288.  I was inspired by the pink flowers and wooden box.  I opted to go with the retiring set Tranquil Tulips, since it's springtime, stamped on top of a piece of Wood Textures DSP.  I also used the Fab Friday #135 sketch.  I used my Basket Weave EF on the Crumb Cake banner and sponged it with Crumb Cake ink to make it look a little shabby chic.  The Early Espresso background is stamped with the Hardwood stamp in Early Espresso ink.. I also sponged the Flirty Flamingo card base with Crumb Cake ink to further the shabby chic look.  It's just about wedding season, so I opted to make this a wedding card.

Yellow Palette Rose ~ CCMC506

Hello Stampers!  Today card is for Create with Connie and Mary's Sketch Challenge #506.  This was a very interesting sketch, I thought.  For the three elements on the top I used two different flowers and one set of leaves from the floral design dsp in Petal Passion designers series paper pack.  I colored them with my Blends markers and fussy cut them out.  I placed them on top of two big banners.  The smaller Bermuda Bay one is embossed with the basket weave EF and the bigger one was cut from A Whole Lot of Lovely DSP pack.  I layered the whole thing on a background of Wood Textures DSP, and then backed it with Crushed Curry and finally layered it on a Basic Black card.

I splattered on some Wink of Stella, to finish it off, but it's very hard to see in the photos.

Beautiful Bloom Right Angle Fun Fold ~ CCMC505, SUOC197, ATSM287

Hello stampers!  It's Create with Connie and Mary Challenge Thursday and it's color week!  Our colors are Calypso Coral, Peekaboo Peach (and it's retiring!), and Old Olive.

I've seen a few of these diagonal or right angle fun fold cards floating around the internet and thought they looked fun and simple to create.  Here's a good video explaining how to make the cuts and score lines. It's really very simple and makes a good impact for something different than your regular old fold!  

I used {Birthday Blooms} colored with my light and dark Calypso Coral Blends markers as well as the light Pumpkin Pie, which really resembles Peekaboo Peach.  I absolutely love the depth of color you can achieve with these markers and you don't have to be an artist at all to make it look good!  Because I used my Blends markers I'm also entering my card into Addicted to Stamps and More make your mark challenge 287.  I'm also sharing my card in the SUO Favorite Floral Challenge #197.  I don't think there's a prettier flower in the whole catalog than this one!  I've seen it colored up so many ways, and each one is always beautiful!

I paired my flower with a couple oval circles, the white one is from the stitched dies and the black one is regular.  I popped the flower up on dimesionals, but not before I added a loop of silver sequin trim and mini black sequin trim.  The DSP is from the Petal Passion series.  

I layered a 4" x 5 1/4" white piece on the inside and stamped it with the lone flower from {Birthday Blooms} and then stamped a nice sentiment.  I colored the inside flower with the same blends as the outside flower.

Stained Glass Beautiful Day ~ HSS287

Hi there stampers!  Today's card is for Hand Stamped Sentiments Color Challenge #287.  Look at these fun colors together!  I just love this combination. I CASE'd this card by Diane Barnes using the {Beautiful Day} butterfly. I stamped and embossed on vellum and then colored with regular markers on the backside for a stained glass look.  I also chose to use a bit of the Myths and Magic white glimmer paper for a background.  The sparkles pull the colors all together.  I also added a strip of Flirty Flamingo punched with my Decorative Ribbon Border punch to the bottom of the glimmer paper.  The sentiment is from the same set and is popped up on dimesionals.  The 1/8" ribbon is actually an old in-color called Lucky Limeade.  I had a bit left and thought it looked very similar to the Lemon Lime Twist.  I scattered a few iridescent sequins around and that completed my card!

Always There Petal Palette ~ CCMC504, GDP132

Hello stampers!  It's sketch week at Create with Connie and Mary.  You might have noticed that the Create with Connie and Mary challenge site has had a bit of an update.  You'll also notice that the challenge sketches have been updated too!  

I used Global Design Project challenge #132 Case the Designer to help me with my CCMC design team card this week.  The cased designer is Stesha Bloodhart.  I actually happened to have these roses and the bird laying around on my desk already colored and cut out.  I was playing around with this set {Petal Palette} about a month ago and trying out different colors.  They were absolutely perfect for a Stesha case!  The stitched circle was also a cast off that had been laying on my desk for a while.  AND, would you believe the banner was yet another already done piece that had not been used on a previous project?!  With all of these elements already done all I had to do was cut my white cardstock and emboss it with the Petal Burst EF.  I also added a bit of silver thread behind the bird and some linen thread in the form of a bow to tie in the neutral Sahara Sand circle.  

It's really hard to see in the photo but there's a little sliver of Sahara Sand scallop trim under the black banner.  I punched it with Decorative Ribbon border punch.

Tropical Waterfront Reverse Mask ~ CTD486, TTTC041

Hey there stampers!  I made today's card for Color Throwdown #486 featuring Blushing Bride, Flirty Flamingo, and Peekaboo Peach.  I'm also joining Tic Tac Toe Challenge #41 and I used circle (well, mine's an oval), flower, and die cut.  I used an oval die cut to do the reverse mask technique.  If you've never tried reverse masking here's a link to a quick video showing the technique.

For my card I laid the mask down on my piece of white 4" x 5 1/4" and sponged the three featured inks over the oval.  I then stamped the sun in Peekaboo Peach and the beach scene from {Waterfront} in Basic Gray ink.  The sea birds are from the set {High Tide}.  The sentiment comes from {And Many More}.  I added a couple of die cut flowers from Botanical Builders Framelits, cut out of white cardstock and then sponged with the coordinating inks.  I sponged the little leave with Smokey Slate ink.  lastly, I added some silver cord tied in a nice little bow.  I'm loving the simple look of this!

Fear Not Wreath ~ CC89, CTS265

Hello stampers!  I saw a card on YouTube recently and was inspired to make a wreath out of flowers.  I used the inspiration photo at The Card Concept #89 and the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch #265. I had a ton of fun creating this card!

I was inspired by the colors in the photo from The Card Concept.  I saw a little bit of pink on the erasers of the pencils on the desk and drew that color out in my card.  I flipped the sketch from CTS upside down.  

I used most of the flowers and green sprigs from {Jar of Love} and snuck in the rose-looking flower and single leaf from {Happy Birthday Gorgeous}.  The sentiment came from {Rose Wonder}.
