Tangelo Monarch ~ CMCC61

It's Colour Me Wednesday!!!!  We have Tangelo Twist plus a neutral for you this week.  You'll see if you check out the Colour Me blog that many of us designers went the butterfly route!  Well, you know what they say, great minds think alike!  The fun thing is that they are all so different!

I started with this big, beautiful butterfly die, cut out with black cardstock.  I then traced the outline of the butterfly onto a piece of vellum and cut it out by hand.  I used my orange blendabilites markers and colored the wings.  Once I glued the butterfly together, I put the white dots on the edges of the wing with my white gel pen.  The white background is a bit of the leaf Irresistibly Yours DSP with no color added to it.  It's hard to see it in the photo, but it adds a bit of texture in real life.  I also pierced the black oval frame which you can see better in the photo below.
The sentiment is from a retired set called {Vintage Verses}.
The background paper is from the Back To Black DSP pack and reminded me of a lattice fence.
A few rhinestones finish off this beauty of a butterfly!

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: Vintage Verses
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Pumpkin Pie Blendabilites, white gel pen
Paper: Tangelo Twist, Back to Black & Irresistibly Yours DSP, Vellum
Accessories: Oval framelits, Butterfly thinlits die, Rhinestones

  2. This card makes a big impact, Jenny! Love all the black. It really makes the orange pop. The white dots on the butterfly are perfect, too.

  3. Your card is just gorgeous, and yes, great minds do think alike. Love that all our butterflies are so very different. Love the black and orange on yours--it really looks like a Monarch butterfly--we see lots of them here in San Diego during migration season.

  6. Oh, so pretty! That coloured vellum adds so much dimension, that I had to double take to make sure it wasn't real! :) Julia
