Seashell Flowers ~ CCMC554, TCC111

Hello there stampers!  Today's card is for the new sketch challenge over at Create with Connie and Mary.  I've also taking in the Card Concept Challenge #111 inspirational photo.

I tried to make the flowers look a little bit like seashells.  I used the two leaf dies from the Swirly Scribbles Framelits dies.  I cut multiple of each and adhered them to a small circle.
For the wood background, I started with a piece of Pool Party cardstock, ran it through the big shot with the Pinewood TIEF, then sponged it with pool party ink, crumb cake ink, and swiped my Whisper White ink pad directly across the top to add the white bleached board look.  I also picked up a bit of crumb cake ink with my blender pen and ran it in the cracks between the boards.
I layered the flowers onto the card base to mimic the sketch and added a sentiment from Flowering Desert.

The centers of the flowers are from the Bitty Blooms punch pack.
Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: Flowering Desert
Ink: Pool Party, Crumb Cake, Whisper White
Paper: Whisper White, Sahara Sand, Pool Party
Accessories: Bitty Blooms punch pack, White EP, Pinewood Planks TIEF, Swirly Scribbles Framelits, Basic Rhinestones

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Zach's 21st ~ Fusion Create

Hey stampers!  Today is a pretty special day for my middle son Zachary--He turns 21 today!  I made this special card for him using the inspiration and sketch from Fusion Card Challenge.  I thought the inspiration photo would lend itself nicely to a masculine card.

Now Zach is not a partier, but when you think of a 21st birthday you always think about being able to drink legally.  We are going out for supper tonight and I imagine he'll have a legal drink and be able to pull out his license to show that he is legal!
I used the sentiment "party time" from {Happy Birthday Gorgeous}.
The sentiment on the inside is from a retired set called {Happy Hour}.  I cut the "21" twice, once with Wood Textures DSP and once with vellum and then I layered them.  I spritzed the whole thing with Shimmer Spritz for a more a subtle celebration feel.

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Happy Hour
Ink: Basic Gray
Paper: Black, Smokey Slate, Basic Gray, Vellum, Wood Textures DSP, (Black and White scrap from retired card pack)
Accessories: Large Numbers Framelits, Subtle TIEF, Champagne Shimmer Spritz

Mango Beautiful Day ~ CCMC553, TGIF204, SUO219

Hey stampers!  Today I'm sharing a card that takes in the Create with Connie and Mary color challenge #553, TGIF Challenge #204 Blends Markers, and SUO219 Coloring challenge

I loosely cased this card made by the amazing Dena Rekow.  I loved the layout and neutral with a pop of color, so that's the direction I wanted to go in.
I started out stamping the cluster of flowers from {Wood Words} on a piece of Wood Textures DSP and then ran the whole thing through my big shot with the Subtle TIEF.  I stamped the sentiment from {Needle and Thread} on a 1 1/2" strip, also from Wood Textures DSP and adhered it in the middle of the main panel.  I stamped the flower from {Beautiful Day} in Memento ink and colored it with my Mango Melody Blends markers.  I colored the center of the flower and the leaf with light Crumb Cake and light Smokey Slate. The whole flower was fussy cut.
I then cut some leaves out of vellum from the retired Rose Garden Thinlits and layered them behind the Beautiful Day flower after it was popped up on dimensionals.
Next, I layered the main panel on a piece of Gray Granite matte and also a piece of Crumb Cake.  The whole thing was then layered on a So Saffron card base.

Lastly, I spayed the entire thing with Champagne Shimmer spritz.

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: Beautiful Day, Needle and Thread
Ink: Mango Melody Blends, light Smokey Slate and light Crumb Cake Blends, Memento Black, Gray Granite
Paper: So Saffron, Crumb Cake, Smokey Slate, Wood Textures DSP, Vellum, Whisper White
Accessories: Subtle TIEF, Rose Garden Thinlits

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Let It Ride Palomino ~ CCMC553, CTC220, Inspire.Create.039, SUOC219

Hello there stampers!  Today's card is for an interesting color challenge at Create with Connie and Mary.  The colors are Gray Granite, So Saffron, and Mango Melody.  I was trying to come up with something different and thought of coloring the horse from {Let it Ride} like a Palomino.  I think she came out so nice, don't you?  I was originally gonna color her So Saffron, but I wanted to use the blends markers, and since there is not So Saffron blend I went with Mango Melody.  I tell you what....I NEVER thought that Mango Melody would be a color that I love, but I sure do!  Also, there is no Gray Granite blends, so I used a combo of light Crumb Cake and light Smokey Slate.
So, with the horse as my theme in place, which ties into Inspire.Create.Challenges #039 Pets theme, I needed a sketch to follow.  Casing The Catty always comes through, so I chose to case the rooster card on the right on page 11 in the Sale-a-bration catalog.
I'm also participating in SUO Challenges #219: Coloring, which works wonderfully with my Blends marker horse.

No photo description available.

For the yellow background panel I ran a piece of So Saffron through the big shot with my Pinewood Plank TIEF and then sponged So Saffron ink into it to get the wood grain to show up a bit better.  I also sponged so Gray Granite over the top and sides as well.  To get the smaller, skinnier label from the Everyday Label punch, I cut a strip of gray Granite a little smaller than 1".  I stamped the sentiment on it and then fed the ends of the strip into one end of the punch at a time, as shown below.

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: Let it Ride
Ink: Memento Black, Gray Granite, So Saffron, Mango Melody Blends, Light Crumb Cake and Light Smokey Slate Blends
Paper: Very Vanilla, Gray Granite, So Saffron
Accessories: Pinewood Plank TIEF, Braided Linen Trim, Everyday Label punch, Stitched Rectangle Framelits

Birthday Card for Mom ~ CCMC551, CTC218, PP431

Hello stampers!  Today's card shows off a lovely color palette brought to you by the latest color challenge from Create with Connie and Mary.  For my card layout, I played along with Caseing The Catty Challenge #218.  I cased a card from the center section of the newest Sale-a-bration flyer.  I'm also playing along with the Paper Players spring fever challenge #431.

No photo description available.

It was my mom's birthday recently so this card went to her.  She loves flowers, so this was perfect for her!
If you look closely, the Fresh Fig panel has a fun technique applied to it.  I inked up the flat side of the Country Floral TIEF with Fresh Fig ink and laid my card stock on it.  When I ran it through the big shot, the ink transfered to the depressed areas, making the background a little darker than the raised portions of the paper.  It really is a lovely look and gives such dimension!

Here's a picture of the card I cased.

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: Needle and Thread, Beautiful Day
Ink: Fresh Fig, Mossy Meadow, Petal Pink
Paper: Very Vanilla, Fresh Fig, Mossy Meadow
Accessories: Needlepoint elements framelits, Gold faceted gems, Country Floral TIEF

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!
