Wildlife and Woods ~ HSS245

Hello stampers!  It's time again for another Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge!  This go around we've got a Wildlife/Woodland Inspiration challenge for you!

I chose to use an old, old set called {Noble Deer} that I've had for ages.  In fact, I think the year on the stamp said 2004!  I've kept this one in my stash because I've always loved the images and you never know when you might need something like this for masculine cards.  Anyway, I'm glad I've kept it around!
I stamped it in Stazon ink on watercolor paper and watercolored with my aqua pen and ink pads.  I like the way it came out kinda textured....that was not on purpose, by the way!
I added a strip of Garden Green, layered on Soft Suede, stamped with the line of trees that comes with the set.  On the Crumb Cake base, I stamped the trio of trees from last year's holiday catalog set {Wonderland}.  I embossed them in white and then sponged some crumb cake ink over the top and around the edges of the base.
Lastly, I added some linen thread and a gold metal button.  I guess all of these products are retired now except for the linen thread and cardstock colors.

We hope to have you play along with us at HSS!
Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!
Jenny

  2. Super card! I love how you colored the image. It's a mini work of art. I too have favorite stamps that are now retired. Great job!
